You know as a long time fan of pokemon and many hours spent watching Pokemon lets plays Ive gotten a bit burned out of them. But Syckoh yours are something else entirely and I'd like to say this as a message of appreciation for your content and you deserve all the subscribers you get. I mean I've seen a dozen of regular pokemon crystal lets plays and already this is my favourite. You have so much energy, a refreshing style for this type of humour and are an expert at pacing your lets plays clearly shown through your editing and what you decide to keep. It gives of an air of professionalism even if it is a TH-cam lets play and makes it very enjoyable. Keep it up buddy!

Sykoh plays this as if its everyones first time playing a pokemon game. he doesnt know everything, he talks to everyone and has a great time. thats what pokemon is all about.

Yeah, Bugsy's Scyther is no joke. It gets even worse in the Gen 4 remakes, with the introduction of U-Turn. Holy shit, that fight actually becomes a nightmare, especially if you're nuzlocking and don't have a good team composition to handle it.

If anyone is wondering, an ability at the older games, including gen 3, is physical or special depending on their type. Swift is normal type so it's physical.
Nowadays it's Special, which would make it not as good for Pooh, but in Gen 2 it's physical so it is indeed great at that level.
Slowpoke's Yawn may not cause rain, but it's Rain Dance sure does!
I wish they would give Ledyba a buff- I've always wanted to use one on the team. In fact, I think I did try to once, but he got seriously outclassed and left behind stat-wise.
Bugsy is one of my favorite characters in the entire Pokemon series despite being a second Gym Leader. I guess he left an impression.

Emaad Gafoor I'm playing this game too, and that's one thing I'm not looking forward to. I have a Quilava, Zubat and Poliwag so far, none of which are particularly good against her. I will be getting a fourth team member before Whitney, but it still won't be that great against her. I'll just have to hope for the best

alex_9000 As I said, I'm using a Poliwag, which I will evolve into Poliwrath, a part fighting type. I want to have a balanced team, so having two fighting types is out of the question
Shrek The Ogre You can always get a temporary fighting type, or you can grind Poliwag into Poliwhirl and try to find a Water Stone (I think you can buy one in the Goldenrod Department Store). A rock and ground type like Geodude or Onix can also tank a lot of hits, but Milk Drink will make a tanky Pokémon pointless...
Sophisticated Goat Too late, already beat her. Got lucky with ember and burned the milk tank. Plus, my Quilava was a female, so it couldn't attract, plus it never used Rollout, only stomp

Pidgey, Sparrow, Goldeen, Growlithe, Geodude, Onyx. They are all good alternative options for taking on this gym if you start with Chikorita/Totodile.

So I decided to do a playthrough with Chikorita as the starter, and my fight with Bugsy was unlucky - his Scyther's first fury cutter was a crit, and my Teddiursa's first fury swipes only hit 2 times. He fainted my Teddiursa and my Bayleef, so I switched to my lvl 12 traded Onix (who wasn't obedient to me yet). The Scyther was at very low health, and I chose Tackle and prayed to RNGesus so that Onix listens, and he listened and defeated the Scyther. You thought bad luck was over? My second fight with Silver was also really unlucky. His Gastly's lick paralyzed my Bayleef on the first turn, my first Razor Leaf missed, on the second one Bayleef was fully paralyzed, but I managed to beat the Gastly. The Quilava though... I switched to Onix to screech at it and went to Teddiursa, and it got a burn from Quilava's Ember! I didn't have any burn heal, my first Fury Swipes hit only 2 times, then I used scratch. For the Teddiursa to survive I had to use an energy powder and a super potion. On the last turn, Quilava was at half HP and Teddiursa was at 6 HP. I used Fury Swipes, praying to RNGesus for it to finish his Quilava, and 3 swipes defeated him!

Florida currently could use a slowpoke yawn or two. Gather them! Also, I'd like to point out how the charcoal kiln has no kiln at all and despite being horizontally long is the same shape inside as every other house. pokemon gen 2 pls.
Scyther is super easy. Use a geodude or an onyx. Quad weak to rock, resists the heck out of fury cutter. You're done.
I have a favor to ask you. Can you use bug type pokemon in this playthrough pls. I know that they aren't the strongest ones, but you can always catch scyther, heracross or pinsir.

When I fought the “double battle” in the gym, they had a shiny spinarak and I just flipped out.
They really buffed up Bugsy's Scyther in HeartGold and Soulsilver 0_0

Bug was strong to pchycic but in (gen 1) did not have any good bug moves so thats why pchycic was one of the best types in (gen 1) just wanted to point that out to you persons that wonders why pchycic was one of the best types in (gen 1) if it was weak to bug Thanks for reading this.

You realize ice was the worst type from the start
I wish the gym leaders were harder, pun intended (because of harden). For instance, this gym leader could've had beedrill, Butterfree, and Scyther, rather than the useless metaphod and kakuna. Also, I feel that it would be appropriate if gym leaders all had six Pokemon.
MrYaniv99 This gym is hard enough with just the Scyther, a Bedrill and Butterfree would've just made it overkill, let alone having six Pokemon. It's difficult enough as it is, it doesn't need to be harder. As you can see, Scykoh barely won that battle, if Scyther got a critical hit it would've been completely over.
Shrek The Ogre the thing is that the metaphod and kakuna didn't matter then and might as well have been only the scyther. Also, scykoh was using only two Pokemon whereas most trainers probably have a full team already.
MrYaniv99 A full team by the second gym? Sounds unlikely to me, I'm playing through this game too, and I only had three Pokemon at this gym, although one of them was a flying type and one was fire, so I had the advantage. I still don't think this gym needs to be any harder, as soon as Scyther gets at least three hits on you, you're pretty much screwed unless he misses. They could've swapped Metapod and Kakuna for something else, but it doesn't need to be any more difficult if you ask me
Shrek The Ogre I always have a full team by that gym, but for my playthroughs, I think it would be nicer if the difficulty was increased, but not artificially, hence suggestions like the ones I've made already. It's just that the second gen is really easy, what with the low level Pokemon used by trainers and gym leaders.

yes, it evolves into Togetic with enough happiness, Togekiss was introduced in gen 4 though
