Thanks for the video! It's shocking how smooth and natural this AML eq sounds. Pultec has been a classic for a reason and this one is just amazing. I want to see "Coffee the Pun" and "BASSTard" by Acustica Audio and the one that comes with Logic in a comparison. it would be really nice If you could show us the curves and harmonics of the hardware, because there's not much information about it. You can do sine sweep and 1k test tone for harmonics and use Bertom EQ curve analyzer or Plugin Doctor for the curves.

Another Excellent Video!! I'm fascinated by all of these Pultec copy/clones. Never had personal experience with the real deal so I'm curious about how you landed on these AML's vs the others mentioned in the description. Thank you Kyle! I was first interested in the Pulse Techniques but as many times as I put them in the vintage king cart, I just never could pull the trigger. They are VERY pricey. I'll still probably check them out eventually. Based off the recommendation of some fellow engineers I narrowed my search down to AML and AudioScape. I came across this pair on Reverb before a new batch of AudioScape EQs were available so that was really the deciding factor. It all worked out great though, I'm very happy with the AMLs!

Plugins Acustica audio - dsd 0r 384 khz type audio comparisons to real. It was sounding good at 192 to the real thing closing in on being as good if they went to full 384 kilohertz.

Great question! Zero volume bump. I just tested it by ear and didn't notice any volume increase. Wanted to double check by running a test tone and confirmed there is no volume bump at all when you go from bypass to engaged(as long as no EQ boost is applied).

I def want at least one pair of hardware Pultecs, but not sure if Im gunna go with the 3U Pulse Units, although that would be sweet hah! Ive heard amazing things with the 500 series Pulse T's too, but I think I want a pair of tube Pultecs, and maybe a 500 series pair at some point. TBH, Im considering some of the Bettermaker Units too! Dont think those have tubes tho!
I know what you mean, some of the plugins I tested had as much as a 1.5db bump! It sounds like we're on a similar path man. I too have thought about the Pulse units, 500 series, bettermaker....haha. I'm really happy with the AML pair but I think curiosity will get the best of me and I'll have to check out the Pulse eventually 🤑

My favorite pultec EQ plug-in is the EQH-2 model in the Acustica Purple bundle 👍🏼

Im just curious, in person(in the room) do you hear abit of a volume difference between dry and engaged with no EQ?

The AMLs are great, I’m just saving up for a pair of EQH-2 as I like those better on the Mixbus than EQP-1a.
