Thanks, Nevada Jane, for this grand Hopalong Cassidy movie. The snappy dialog 14:35 and 20:30 between Hoppy and the desk clerk (Earl Hodgins) was a special bonus-- the two veteran actors obviously enjoying themselves. And the saloon fight 24:42 was as good as it gets!
Back in the early 50s, in Albany, NY, Hoppy put me on Topper and led us out to the street as he was getting ready for a parade. Among happiest moments in my childhood.
😃😃 That is awesome!!! I read of the parade he pulled of 500.000 people. WOWW!!! A good guy he was.. only the good .... you know the rest. 😔 Till then, Hoppy... 🤠🏇🏇🏇
My favorite hoppy is marshal lot Santa fe. He really showed a connection to the actress in the movie. They really had a on screen something special n where Holly really could fall in love with a WO men. The actress was really good. It was good to see. Now that I'm older n watching so many of these old westerns had a old buddy theme where they never wanted too have women to take hold of their It buddy. . The directors back then almost had a gay theme of connection..Like in beginning of this one movie..Gabby Hayes is painting the bar 20 name on the wagon cover. Then it shows Lucky with a bunch of wild flowers in his hand n shakes dust in Gabby's face....but here comes a girl in scene from nowhere just going up n taking them from Lucky as if they were for her. But the look on Lucky's face that the director had him do. It was all set where Lucky was surprised that she just took them that's how he looked...I really think he had picked them for Holly. Even in early movies with the Johnny actor....anytime they would b splitting up...the younger actor looked as if he was leaving his lover!. Makes you wonder when all those men who traveled only with men...Bet they kept each other warm of nights...lol....they always had Gabby or others complain if another women was around. But in Santa Fe Marshal its so neat at the ending. When Lucky says to Topper....you may have a step mommy...Its so great n that line made the whole movie..!!! It was such a cute line!!..but the actress was great! n I love them showing her n Holly riding in wagon together...its the best one ..but all the Holly movies are threat. It really made u see that William Boyd was probably just a good guy in person as he grew ol!der n it really makes you want to have got to meet him n know him as a friend.
California does the silliest things that make Hoppy laugh… they play off each other great as actors. In all the Hoppy films I like Andy Clyde best as side kick to William Boyd and Russell Hayden.
Considering this was only Robert Mitchum's second movie (the first was the Human Comedy), they gave Mitchum a somewhat major role with a couple of speaking spots and his name in the credits -- that's saying quite a bit for a new actor.
Episódio da longa série de média-metragens com o personagem Hopalong Cassidy, interpretado por William Boyd. Lançado nos EUA em 12 de março de 1943, com distribuição da United Artists, passou no Brasil com o título de "Mantenho a ordem".
Actually John Wayne devised the way to swing as tho fighting and the angle of the camera caught it as tho they’d taken the blow. He was the greatest of actors. In The Alamo, his dream film to do, he was producer, director and acted Davy Crockett.
Ah, Saturday afternoon matinees as a small boy in a small town: unforgitable. If you thought fight scene in saloon was good it could have been because Jory was the boxing and wrestling champion of the United States Coast Guard during his military service,
Once again, Hoppy's partners carelessly throw a wrench in the works; for one thing, California slips up and loses the wanted flyer and tips Steve off to Hoppy's real plans! They never remember to keep their mouths shut and watch their step all the way!
there's no point to watching the window, watch the bad guys. that's like, take a seat, no thanks, i've got plenty at home. and let's be careful out there, is better than, have a nice day y'all
why is it called a writ ? because it's written, not much good if you can't read, and a lot of them couldn't. that's why road signs are pictures. so are, dangerous areas ie minefield
the company is losing thousand of dollars of other people's money, because their too mean to pay for proper protection. they have armored wagons to transport prisoners, that are worth peanuts, but not to safeguard people's money. no wonder they went out of business often
Thanks...a good movie! Gotta love Hopalong!
Love the old westerns
Hoppy sure gets a lot of exercise during these fights. 😅😅😅😅
I love 💕 the music 🎶 🎼when they’re ambling along.

What movie title..cuz I loved those two also working together
Horses tail is magic and Hoppy is so wonderful,a western HERO
Andy Clyde is his best in this episode. The fly paper cracks me up in laughter. 🤣🤣

Seeing Robert mitchum caught me by surprise lol
Victor Jory a.k.a. The Shadow! He & George Reeves were both in "Gone with the Wind."
At 17:04 it's funny that they are playing Irish music to the horse race. Remindss me of "The Quiet Man" with John Wayne.
Everyone loves Hoppy.
GO BACK 2 MEXICO 😵
everybody except thugs, terrorists, and outlaws.
Thank You
One of the best fight scenes in a older Western...Hoppy's (stuntman's) britches got a little snug when they clinched in a tussle...
Gospel muies
@@beatrizestrada8935 Even in English, I don't know what that means. 🤷🏿♂️
I love Hoppy's laugh.
GO BACK 2 MEXICO 😵 NOW
BILLY BARTY shut up spam bot

Hoppy gets them, every time. The Man In Black who was a good guy. Setting precedent for more good guys with hearts of darkness. :)
Only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. One might even say one who's willing to sink as low in tactics as them.

Superman on horseback, playing an outlaw--and Robert Mitchum in one of his early roles.
Mishawaka Post
Mishawaka Post zorro n
Robert Mitchum's first movie roll
Cool
Don't understand in a shootout why they don't open the window
" there are two kinds of people, people with spurs that jingle, and people that take them off, and use the window "
Young Robert Mitchum in the plaid shirt at 22:28 at the bar.
Great old westerns! Watching these I wonder why they hardly use their rifles?
You can't "throw" the bullets out of the muzzle with a quick flick of the arm if you use a rifle. :~) - Joe -

Giddy up
At 24:53 If that is a table by the wood stove, it doesn't have a top on it?
Robert Mitchum & George Reeves (tv Adventures of Superman)
I tried talkin scornfully the way Hoppy has done, but I found it to be hard for me to have done it.
At 10:31 That dude didn't let the white horse get a very long drink of water.
that's one hell of a mouse trap
Rat trap actually.
Incredible fight scene in the saloon. Didn't look like they used stuntmen.
Right toward the end of the fight you can see the stunt man's face who is acting for Cassidy. No resemblance at all.
Actually Bob Steele was stuntman for Hoppy often.
55 thumbs down by thugs terrorists, and outlaws.
Or folks who expect men over 28 to be wedded, and not to a crusty codger.
Just notice Robert Mitchum as one of the boys at the bar
the same here.
As the bandits flip through the 500-dollar bills (at 3:20) it's clear that they all have the same serial number: 79641--COUNTERFEIT! :)
Make that 78541
it wasn't just hard going on the cattle and horses, it was hard on the furniture too
Actually John Wayne devised the way to swing as tho fighting and the angle of the camera caught it as tho they’d taken the blow. He was the greatest of actors. In The Alamo, his dream film to do, he was producer, director and acted Davy Crockett.
Andy Clyde was an original Keystone Cops...
Jack Val I didn't know that
Ah, Saturday afternoon matinees as a small boy in a small town: unforgitable. If you thought fight scene in saloon was good it could have been because Jory was the boxing and wrestling champion of the United States Coast Guard during his military service,
This was Bob Mitchum's first appearance.
Once again, Hoppy's partners carelessly throw a wrench in the works; for one thing, California slips up and loses the wanted flyer and tips Steve off to Hoppy's real plans! They never remember to keep their mouths shut and watch their step all the way!
They were supposed to act like dummies. That's what they were paid for. Can't make hoppys' job too easy.
🤠👍🏿
They called the Lone Ranger "Loney", and Tonto was "Tonty".
I had inklins along those lines but not taken as far.
I love hoppy
Robert Mitchum is a young man in this one. Pretty cool.
Today when you check into a hotel you need ID...America has become a sad country...

That was edited?
Directors and producers handicapped the Hoppy character in order to appeal to the public
👍👍👍👍👍👍
22 : 20 Robert Mitchum, second left
He sure looks like him. Robby was a bad boy in real life. ✌😄
DAT WAZN'T MITCHUM , DAT WAZ HAROLD LIOYD
I wonder how girls managed to eventually marry back in those days?? 😅
MITCHUM!
mullettom54 Sherlock Homes
americans, don't have fish with their chips, and if they don't like you, you get buffalo chips
i would, keep a stick of dynamite, tied to an arrow for such occasions, short fuse, and yes, a bow to fire it with smart arse
why is it called a writ ? because it's written, not much good if you can't read, and a lot of them couldn't. that's why road signs are pictures. so are, dangerous areas ie minefield
Writ of Habeus Corpus… to take to court from a territory to a state.
now, that was a fight, practice makes perfect. he didn't expect the pipe on the head though
the company is losing thousand of dollars of other people's money, because their too mean to pay for proper protection. they have armored wagons to transport prisoners, that are worth peanuts, but not to safeguard people's money. no wonder they went out of business often
Mi marido tenia todas las revistas se que la casa las revistas todo
and off course california, don't mention, that her boyfriend is one of the outlaws 49 : 17
in most of the Hoppy movies, Johnny was not so bright....or in love..his character was a bit tiresome...
Russell Hayden played that role later as Lucky. He was best in that role for my thots.

The dysfunctional booklet family allow because okra theoretically rejoice at a important slash. productive, lethal millennium
???????
Andy Clyde...always over acting...not funny
plot, same old same old, i've heard of chasing women, but that's going to far
