Molti confondono l'oldschool con gli anni che ha una traccia, old e nu school sono due generi diversi. Questo tipo di produzione "lento violento" é proprio un esempio nu school di fine '90/primi 2000s. L'oldschool ha più ritmo, meno distorsioni, poco o niente PC, più essenziale come suoni.
