I'm an undergraduate and preparing for ssc 2021,
After knowing the difference level in shifts I decided to take mocks for 15 16 and 18 maths mains... truly I deserve somewhat like 120 to 130...
In 15th I got 98 Mark's which could have become 160 + after normalization
In 16th I got 106 marks which again could have crossed 160 after normalization
In 18th I got 164.5 (I was in high spirits never thought of getting more than 120 in maths mains) which could have become less than 100 after norm.
Though I'm getting 160+ in other shifts then why 100 in 18
(If marks didn't deduct in 18 then it might be a better normalization )
See same person same preparation same everything and all...
This is complete injustice with 18th students...
If ssc increased the marks in both harder shifts then what's the point in deducting the marks...

Normalisation is Duckworth-Lewis method of SSC.
Two brothers covered 75% syllabus of quantitative. Both can score 150 marks whether the shift is tough or easy.
First one gave exam on 15th (Shift 1)
His raw score is 150 and after normalisation, his final scored will be arround 200.
Got Selected
Second one gave exam on 18th (Shift 3)
His raw score is 150 and after normalisation, his final scored will be arround 5.

The very assumption for Normalization formula to be applicable is that "every shift has same amount of talent". By this logic the ratio of students appeared/student cleared the tier 2 should be approximately same in every shift. But I know for sure that these numbers will be far low for the 18th Nov shift especially for the reserved categories. You can apply for RTI and can see. Could be useful if someone is going for the court case.
SSC thinks they are the intelligent one and maybe it will work for them. 1st they didn't released the marks at the time of tier 2 result as tension and frustration was very high at that time and again they released the marks when next CGL is scheduled so that the students would be busy in the preparation and maybe they get away with this blunder. I request and hope if someone with resources can take a stand against them. Thanks!
