Mandolin Orange are a American folk duo from North Carolina.
Andrew and Emily took some time out before their sold out London show to talk to us about their recent album, ‘Tides Of A Teardrop’ - a stunningly beautiful record, that touches on country, bluegrass and folk.
The guys also perform a spell binding version of the traditional folk ballad - ‘Silver Dagger’

Beautiful. Real people playing and singing real music.
Was trying to think of where I recognized this from and it finally hit me. Fleet Foxes "B-Sides and Rarities" release. IYKYK. Always assumed it was an original. Learn something new every day.
I'm still "haunted" by their beautiful song, Wildfire.
Mandolin Orange fills a person with a full heart.
He accurately described the album as "Stunningly Beautiful"
The way they talk about wanting their music to be able to be shared... its the most bluegrass thing I've ever heard. There is nothing better than a jam with enough songs everyone recognizes they can all play along. It's like carrying a torch from song writers of the past. I hope to pass this torch and bring a few mandolin orange songs to our jam sessions 🙂
Beautiful people make beautiful music. How could it be otherwise with Mandolin Orange?
I just cannot decided if she is more beautiful or is it her voice 😍 deep in love with both...
I love their music so much and really enjoyed this interview :) the interviewer seems so sincere and appreciative and did a great job :)
Had the pleasure of seeing these two at a winery in Prosser, Washington a couple of years ago. Smaller and more intimate venue. What a special evening. Andrew had just picked up a new mandolin over in Portland and was eager to stretch its legs. What a performance! I wonder if this is the same instrument. All the best to them, they certainly deserve it. Thanks for the video.
They play and sing the kind of music i like.
Thank you for an excellent interview, Liam. I really enjoyed the exchange between you , Emily, and Andrew. 👍👍👍
You both are so fun to listen to, thank you for this wonderful treat!
They are a great duo, they write and rework beautiful songs. I found them by mistake , but know I know it wasn't a mistake. Peace and ligjt
I absolutely love their music. And she's purty!!
Not really. If you meet Emily up close, she's strikingly beautiful, besides totally charming. That, on top of such musical talent, well ... May they live long and prosper.
I’ve always found it funny that my name is Andrew and my twin sister is named Emily. I love this duo so much and they get me an my dog through the days.
Your right looks so much like Molly Tuttle's. Silver Dagger might have been the first song I ever heard Joan Baez sing. I fell in love with the song and with her voice. Well done guys.
My new favorite performers. Love their heart-felt lyrics. And they seem like a nice couple to top it off.
Beautifully done - thanks Mndolin Orange.
I saw this gig. Great singers & musicians. Can't wait for the next one.
Fantastic musicians, even better music.
The Old Queen's Head. Great stage. lovely venue.
great interview ,love their music !!!!!
I'm digging the instrumentals. I have a deep attachment to Joan Baez's version of this song, but there is something more Appalachian about the instrumentals in their iteration which I find very appealing.
I love Emily but yeah baez’s version is the most beautiful. I think her best version is on the bob dylan live bootleg series vol 6. Joan playing guitar and bob on harmonica.
That Pre-War Guitars Company guitar is amazing. So clear!
As always, fantastic!
Any one called Chisholm must be correct.
what a wonderful version-seeing them this Sunday in buffalo at Babeville...come join!
im seeing them on Wednesday in Salem haha !!
The lyrics and the talant🥓🌭🍟

I lost my Mom when I was 21.
That song in the intro, does anybody know it? Like right after she said 'Blues Kitchen'
Edit: after searching a bit I found it, It's Golden Embers!
:-)
Bro...
you can thank the immigrants for all these songs are their gifts to us
Putting two ads before the song starts is a really good way to not get any views. Bravo.
Take that up with TH-cam - we're just making films with artists we love.
No ads with premium subscription...well worth it.
These folks look like they all need a shower. lol
