This is an awesome song about God and Heaven! There is a certain gospel in this song and some of their other songs as well. You feel it pulsate when it hits the bridge and that riff comes in again and it hits you in the heart. When you hear that whoosh it makes you feel you've been touched by the Holy Spirit.
This was my Uncle Garrett's Favorite song. He was 21 and died in a horrible car accident. He listened to this song 24/7 in his red and white camaro. Also, this song was played at his funeral.. Miss and love you Garrett. You touched the hearts of many and lightened each room you walked into. I've never seen you with a frown on your face. I guess it is true; God Only Takes The Best! Watch over your brother Josh. He is heart broke and misses you! Rest In Peace Man. "Go Big Or Go Home" Your Quote!
why do 38 people dislike, did they miss the like button by accident or something, you cant dislike creed they are very inspiring to the world but most of all me i love creed they are the best, they make very great music and i hope they keep it up. great work creed you guys rock. :)
The song is awesome. i think it has something to do with wanting to go somewhere where no one fights and theres no illness or hate. That place is heaven. He wants god to take him into heaven and to let him stay. way to go dude
I'm only 16 and I fell in love with creed many years ago. I remember the first song I heard "arms wide open" , I remember when my amazing father would sing it to me and break down in tears.
I love this band! :) everything song has a deep meaning to it.. Not just partying and stuff like that songs have these days. The music's very good too! :))
I don't actually believe in 'GOD' but I love and appreciate your music and have since I was 15, so for 15yrs lol .....your song ONE says exactly what this world is about/or needs o be. PLEASE do come to New Zealand...Dunedin (we built a new stadium to hold concerts Elton john was the first) if not I still love your lyrics, thoughts, emotions, and belief's and if we could all live by this appreciation for all and acceptance the world would for once have peace!
@RaWrS97 i soooo agree to wat ur saying, im 21 and the kind of music that inspires me to playin music its the songs that actually gives a meaning in life.. don't R.I.P that music i kno it still lives ^.^
Always been a fan of Creed. This song also reminds me of the best moment in professional wrestling. When Eddie Guerrero & Chris Benoit stood tall, both leaving Madison Square Garden as the World Champions on the grandest stage of them all, Wrestlemania!
I live 5 blocks away from the singer of this band!! I SWEAR!! My dad Cuts his lawn every once in a while :) I love this band i remember when i was a baby and i couldnt fall asleep and i would scream and cry my dad would take me out on a car ride and play this song and i would immidiatly fall asleep in 5 minutes i Love this band real singers need to start singing like this it brings me to tears of anger when someone says this band sucks i swear this song feels magical when i listen to it.. Creed
bit extra that you have if you have that faith that can keep you going. I thought churches weren't good places but all I found in the right one was good people, wanting the same good things I did, to help others, to learn to serve, to relearn to love humanity because our trials were tough, and there is a lot of anger on the roads of life. I found that when I prayed all my anger left me. All my hatred disappeared and I wanted to spread that even if you don't feel it will. A positive thought
i take it as a longing for heaven. i believe thats what he is singing of. where blind men see, as quoted in the bible, is heaven. a place with golden streets, also in the bible, is heaven. anyways srry for rambling on, great vid. love the song. 5 stars
Rip Garrett Rhodes! Miss you Uncle Garrett. This is your favorite song! Please watch over Diegan and NaNa for your brother Josh! He misses you more than words can ever begin to describe!
Christian here: I will admit, I have tried Marijuana, I have tried pills, I have tried hookah, and I have tried sex, but I am proud to say that nothing in my life has never gotten me higher than the feeling I got when Jesus saved my soul
HEAVEN... just imagine, golden streets, every one's happy, no more pain .. me and my father.. just imagine, once my purpose is fulfilled, my work of being here and i can finally be with my Jesus and my father in heaven. Yay, exciting
Excitement overload. "jump for joy" This is a Great band. Great Message. Funny Story... 10 years back I actually remember listening to this song, My brain was taking in the song information funneled through by my ear systems.
I always loved the people that hate on Creed these days. I'll admit that I even joined it at some points. What's ridiculous though is that, despite everyone "hating" Creed they'll know every damn word to one of their songs...
I realize that many individuals seek to blame others instead of blaming themselves. While we in fact can't control one another we indeed can control ourselves! For the reflection in the mirror is but only of oneself and not of your neighbor!
@RaWrS97 That is so true that it makes me cry and wonder where all the good times and music went. I'm sick of that Shawty crap. Big thumbs up too the max!
@RaWrS97 i was about to agree with you 100% there. until you said rest in piece great music. great music never dies my friend. great music lives on within us. it will always be there whenever one with taste in great music like this calls for it.
@sweetsongman1 You just about nailed it, my friend =) Creed has never been a Christian band folks...Scott even denied being a Christian back in the day, because of his strong Christian up bringing. His step Dad (Steven Alan Stapp) was way to strict on Scott, so Scott questioned his Faith growing up.......
Yes indeed my friends as I sit here listening to music, how beautiful it really is! the world's we create and yet the world's we destroy as yesterday's dreams become as real as tomorrow's visions! as yet my friends take my hands let's look for the love we all need! search the music from the 50s thru the 70s there are many dreams there! search but never give up, dream a little dream, be there for some body, love while you can!
Listening to this song over and over again makes me think about the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center and the Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island especially in the 1970's. It's just so sad that they're (the towers) are gone and it's not fair. 9/11 will never be forgotten. I think that the twin towers need to be rebuilt because before they were attacked, business was running nicely/ smoothly. Also, both the Statue of Liberty and the twin towers were both very welcoming. Together, they were both very powerful symbols in New York city, the entire state of New York, and the whole world.
one time me and my cousin were in church and he was playing this song on his ipod and apperantly it was just before the chorus started i pulled his headphones out and turned the volume up all the way, just to annoy the crap out of him. It was a good thing that the the discription of the place in the chorus sounds like heaven. The preacher actually asked me what that song was called. I told him, and then he had me play the whole thing. My cousin still hasnt forgiven me for that
strongasian you get the concept. and you understand philosophy. This song is for deep thinkers like us. So ignore whatever others will say. Thanks for being a believer. God Bless
What a shame that such a powerful song could attract such ignorant people. Maybe you have nothing else to do except bash such a beautiful, meaningful and touching song. Fortunately, there is still some intelligent life around listening to this song on repeat for many decades to come!!!!!!
In the September 2000 edition of Spin magazine, Scott Stapp explained that this song isn't about Christ's ascension to heaven or taking a big bong hit, but is about the power of lucid dreaming: "You're physically asleep, but you're awake in your mind," he explains. He read a book about Hindu monks who have perfected the technique and thought it might help him squelch a recurring nightmare. He used lucid dreaming to alter the nightmare and stop it. Then he wrote this song about his experience.
this song is so amazing and has a great message!!!! the world would be a much better place if we all chose love over hate!!!! :)
Can you take me higher, to a place where blind men see, Can you take me higher, with golden streets. Man i love that.
To think that I was drawn to this song as a kid, only I didn't know all the lyrics or who sang it at the time. I am still drawn to it today.
This was my Uncle Garrett's Favorite song. He was 21 and died in a horrible car accident. He listened to this song 24/7 in his red and white camaro. Also, this song was played at his funeral.. how can someone not like this song
Religous beliefs aside, great song. Legendary band.
the lyrics are breathtakingly beautiful and genuine.
The song is awesome. i think it has something to do with wanting to go somewhere where no one fights and theres no illness or hate. That place is heaven. He wants god to take him into heaven and to let him stay. way to go dude
lyrics really clear up a lot of things, man. Before, I actually heard the lyrics: "To a place where blind men see" as
"To a place where I'm unseen"
I'm only 16 and I fell in love with creed many years ago. I remember the first song I heard "arms wide open" , I remember when my amazing father would sing it to me and break down in tears.

I don't actually believe in 'GOD' but I love and appreciate your music and have since I was 15, so for 15yrs lol .....your song ONE says exactly what this world is about/or needs o be.
