Depending on your interpretation on the English version of solid state scouters readings super saiyan may have let him destroy frieza. The final number reading for bardock is 220K. X50 from SSJ1 would put him at 11 mil. Way over final form frieza’s 2.5 mil
The fact frieza is scared because this was gonna be the last time to see a saiyan before killing them all So he thinked that bardock was the super saiyan of the stories

I realized. He lost because the plot music stopped before the beam could reach Frieza.
A shame that Bardock isn't a revered name in modern Saiyan culture.
