Doto, there's a bunch of tech you're missing out on. Buy a health capsule it'll help, and if you don't want that there's a trick to teleporting and i'm not sure if you notice it. if you press back and guard you teleport behind him without hitting him away. so you can combo or retreat when you do. learning about basic attack canceling also helps.
I was gonna comment this as well there a plenty of health items and green capsules he can obtain too bad doto wont see it and will make it 10 times harder for himself lmao
I love how unprepared he's getting into the fights, honestly makes them more exciting With that being said... Expect that kid Boo fight last at least 30 min (After editing)
Dude, you should get to know about "canceling". It adds a WHOLE new layer to how deep this game can be. It is one of the most competitive anime fighting games out there when you get to play it knowing all it has to offer.
There's so much tech in IW that most players don't even know about. It's a shame it was made on a low budget and was released so late in the PS2's lifetime.
There's a shop in the game that allows you to buy moves and items that will help you upgrade your character so you aren't just getting your ass kicked by 9 healthbar bosses, as well as not being stuck to just what the mission sticks you with move wise.
Doto just so you know I believe in those free run modes like the leave planet namek section you can charge your ki using square instead of relying on the stamina pods

Only use it when you aren’t close to being out of ki or else you will tire out. - For the love of god: Back and circle for secondary skills.

Ok, it's been very long since I played this game but, I believe L1 is your Ki Charge button, L1 + guard is a ability that can tank anything, also, use the shop in the game to buy itens that increase your life in adventure mode, and to buy Support Items, and of course, you can buy moves and their upgrades there.
Doto combo cancelling is VERY important to do. For Goku, you can do forward punch button and two kicks, with the third kick you can charge it and cancel the animation by pressing the guard button. Also every character has an alternate throw with the guard and no blast button. That can have the damage increased by flicking the analog stick.
As he's fighting Frieza, Dr Doppietta looks down upon Doto and says one sentence. "I'm sorry little one." While proceeding to perfect him on Z Difficulty.

Doto you should play through DBZ Budokai 1. Plenty of story for each arc (and alternate storylines after completing) from saiyan to cell arc, beautiful cinematic cutscenes, along with giving you actual moveset each fight, and most importantly for you Doto... doesn't shove you into a long ass loading screen everytime you lose... just puts you back into the fight. Skills are done through simple combos so can't really wiff them easily. One of the first fighting games I played and the very first Dragon Ball game that was my introduction to the series (I played on the GameCube so idk how different it might be on say, the Playstation or whatever)
But I will say ahead of time from what I remember, the Freiza fight vs SS Goku, and mainly the Gohan vs Cell fights were the hardest to me. Short vs tall characters give distinct advantages/disadvantages Also... The music is FIRE!! Make sure you have it on or listen to it when you can
You can buy a skill that goes in the green spot of the skills that gives you more healt, always keep that because the more you upgrade it the more healt you get! I don't remember the name now but I belive it's called "warriors body" or something like that
