sorry for disappearing, been busy with commissions and felt a little demotivated. this is a gift for cute_hospital on twitter, as they've been super nice and helped me with some stuff in the recent months! their character kyuu is adorable, and i thought it would fit valentine's theme.
i made the speedpaint a little slower, roughly half the speed i usually edit my videos to be. let me know if the process is clearer this way!

Thank you for the support ♥
The tip i usually give out is to look out for as much art as you can, and to take inspiration and study the artists you like the most, or those who have techniques you'd like to use or emulate. That's what i did to learn!
Speedpaints from other artists helped me a lot, but what was the most useful for me was trying to obtain what i've seen other artists do by trying it out without knowing the process behind it. Coming up with my own method to obtain the same end result!
Shading in particular was a trial-and-error process, trying both multiply layers, single-layer paintings or other different approaches - try various things and see what comes more natural to you!
