- A bunch of private DCS groups got together for a Red Flag Event. I was lucky enough to participate.

Finished vid, watched twice. Looks superb. Reminds me of Falcon BMS when they held their 'Red Flag' type campaign. So many other aircraft involved, each with their own generated mission. Absolutely loved it. I hope that DCS will be able to emulate those campaigns in some way, especially now we have dynamic.

Awesome video this is the stuff I am looking for in DCS. In BMS the UOAF does a mission just like this every week. Thanks for sharing I will watch most of this video. Dream 6 departure is lame should have done FLEX

I'll need to look for the Red Flag server and speak to the other Shrekies (plus gen up on my ATC chatter. Just wish that was in game ATC as you tend to get lax when not hearing SiDS, STARS, squak codes etc.).

it's nit picking but i'm hoping it can help you clean comms up in the future.. sure i found a few things wrong in the comms but i decided to only mention 1 as to not be overly critical and just give a tip. SO when you guys take off and you all call wheels up... Only the last wing man is meant to call " airborn" this is because 1 dosent need to let people know in the filight he just took off.. they can see... and then wing 2 should stay quiet... only the last wing man should call airborn that way lead will know all his chicks are up. it keeps the comms clear and dosent over saturate information that is not needed. It was a nice video to watch have fun out there.

Nice, those are the best times. My friend shot me down the other day. He kept saying the target at a buddy with him. I kept saying thats me on his tail. He fires and hits me and goes splash one. Then ask who shot at you. I told him we are the only three aircraft in the area. I told you i was passing you on your left to visually ID the bogey. He checked the log and saw he shot me. He felt bad but I would rather been hit by some stranger online. Some people get really butt hurt. Crap happens and dont sweat it.

A couple buddies and myself are interested in learning with the eventual goal of Red Flag. Where can we go to study up to FAA standards to become eligible for these types of events?
DCS is so stuttery for me when using TrackIR, at least when looking around. Yours looks so smooth. Are you getting a solid 120 FPS or higher?
I only get around 75-100 FPS on multiplayer servers, but it stutters so much that it's almost literally unplayable at times, especially when the framerate is around 80ish. Only with TrackIR though; the game itself is smooth as butter, it's just looking around that stutters. If it's supposed to be like this, I feel a little misled about TrackIR; nowhere had I seen it mentioned that if you didn't get 120 FPS+ (or even lock the screen to 120Hz) it would be such a bad experience.
TrackIR's sensor only works at 60fps. If you are getting higher than that on DCS, it will stutter a lot when looking around because the sensor is only able to use 60 of those frames. To get a smooth experience in DCS with trackIR, you'll need to edit DCS's config file to limit your fps to 60. This is how I get smooth TrackIR visuals.
::Edit:: I've been told by Glowing Amraam (The man himself. He makes Eagle Dynamics' cinematics) that he has not experienced the stuttering I describe above, so it may be hardware related. Sorry for any confusion. That has been my experience, but it may not be the same for everyone.

As of now its more of an invite throughout the various dcs milsim communities, with the idea of you have a 4 ship to sign up with.
I never know about these things because I have no idea where to find info on it. I'd love to do this.

would you recommend the F-16 for a semi new DCS player jumping from the huey and flaming cliff jets?
got thousands of hours in other flight sims and 2.2k hours in arma 3 mostly flying and i want to get into DCS but the mirage i picked up is not cutting it tbh
id like something abit more modern with better bombing ability and AA ability but isnt super difficult to learn wich is why i went for the huey because ive got alot of history in games with it
I personally find the 16 to be the easiest full fidelity jet to learn, but I've heard a lot of people say the Hornet is the easiest. I thought the hornet was more complicated than the 16, so yeah. Personal opinion is yes, the 16 would be great for a new player trying to get into a full fidelity module in DCS. However, I would also say that the F-15C would be even easier to learn in DCS, but it's NOT full fidelity. No clickable buttons, just keybinds. But I believe it to be the easiest A-A jet in DCS. Again, that's my personal opinion.

think ill go F-16 since its super agile and a multi role fighter and it seems rather simple from the gameplay ive been seeing tho i only have the logitech X56 HOTAS so i hope i can map all the essentials
i even thort about the F-15E but its just a high speed small bomber realy

@@ImJustVale yes. TrackIR is great if you can't afford the new VR headsets. It's a fantastic alternative.
I got the CV1, it's not super blurry, its usable, just small text is to blurry to read unless you move your head. Would recommend new headset having more and more minor problems with mine since it's about 6 years old now. I'm personally saving for a 4070/4080(unless the 50xx cards come out before) and pimax crystal.

@@crosswindfpv5359 it's for full groups only. They don't accept single pilots. If you have a group you fly with I can try and get you a form to fill out.
