that's me on the 996 haha. managed a 1:54 but still a work in progress and running road orientated tyres. Spent the day working on technique which knocked a few seconds off my previous best. Two strokes rock! I had a NSR250sp a few years ago which coincidentally was at the track on this day with its new owner. Good riding!
+Simon J Cool dude, was a beaut day! If you're serious about getting good lap times tyres are the easiest way to do it. I'm running Continental Race Attack Soft on this and I love them, they're a great tyre. Yip I love the 2-Strokes, this thing is so much fun!!
+HardToTheExtreme This was my first track day (feb) in about 8 years! I was probably around 12 seconds a lap slower than you. Did the March one also and got quicker, and booked for the April one coming up too! Trying to give it a good nudge to improve my riding. Hopefully by the end I'll be closer to your times.... What sort of power is your RS putting out? 70hp?
+Simon J Sweet, you're doing pretty well then, takes me a while to get back into it after only a few months lol! I should be at the April one too, what date is it? Put some grippy as tyres on it otherwise the risk of binning it is high. I've had it dynoed at 65hp, I only just finished building it about October last year I was on an R6 beforehand and I have absolutely no regrets about the change in direction.
Haha Hard To The Extreme tried that move a few times, once i can get on the Gas I'm out of there. I'm now carrying more corner speed and later braking so its making it harder fort him to catch me.
You've got some awesome videos mate, I'm looking at getting a RS 250 to track. I've seen quite a few mk1's floating around in Auckland, how much better is the mk2 in comparison to mk1 on track. Did it cost you much to get it to 67WHP ? Cheers!
The engine is the same but the suspension and wheels are different. The Mk2 has a wider front rim and better front suspension. I built it over 9 months, quite a few perfomance upgrades. The biggest thing is the exhausts and the single ring pistons. Focused a lot on weight reduction too. So much fun to ride!
Setting my rs up at the moment down in Te Anau. Had it down to Teretonga but completely original except for power valves and piperX. Will do heads and pipes this winter. What's your setup if you don't mind me asking and where did you get the Conti race attacks from? I'm struggling for rubber, Forbes and Davis don't have anything sticky in the right fitment. Great riding and video.

thanos danellis aaand it's japanese
TheBlu3sman Yeah the heart is Japanese :(
Doesnt matter, the rest of the bike is heavily based on the gp bike and it's still a great engine (despite the bent spark plugs and reed valves)
