Nice early winter journey from Kikonai → Esashi in the south of Hokkaido. The Google translator didn't come up with anything GoogleEarth understood so I ran it again and discovered the beginning of the trip was in Kikonai. Actually as shown above but the translator botched it. So I changed it in the translator. Hope it sticks. Good video. Thank you very much.
+mackrand66 Hi ! mackrand66! This section was totally abolished May 12, 2014 Looking at the Google map, to the place where there was a Esashi Station from kikonai station, you can see the traces of the route. You can also check the railroad crossing remains in Street View!
+hm zakey I did that and see the crossings are paved over with that section of the track taken up. Thank you very much for your input. The latest pictures in GoogleEarth are from 9-25-14 and already some of the right of way is completely overgrown near Esashi with the rail still in place most places except for the road crossings. Amazing information and I appreciate your comment.
