this video was uploaded in 2021. a month or so before i retired that summer as a hospitalist before my 55th birthday, an specialst was trying to dissuade me from retiring as he thought it was a waste since he liked my work and mentioned that if i was retiring due to the stress( which it was) that i would just be replacing it with financial stress as i would just worry about 250k - 350k dwindling down in retirement. he is probably a couple of yrs more senior than me and i was surprised and said just my son's 529 has more than that. that got him interested more and asked me how i did it and how much i had to retire with. i told him and how i started early with a good savings rate, living below my means and investing etc.... what struck me with that interaction was the assumption that at that age i only had that much in assets and me concluding that maybe that is what he has. which is supported by the videos' statistic. yet i know he had 2 children go to an expensive private school where tuition was about 25k annually.

In their defense, the difference between a bitcoin and a tesla is pretty slim.

My wife is about a month away from graduating medical school. Is it too early to get disability insurance or should we wait until she starts residency?

Find out if the residency program has access to a GSI policy. It's not too early to start pricing disability insurance. You might also check with one of the recommended independent insurance brokers to find out if it would be less expensive to buy the policy while in your current location as opposed to where she will be doing residency, assuming it's in a different state. www.whitecoatinvestor.com/medical-student-disability-insurance/

Why is the surgeon even asking for advice- he’s clearly made up his mind

One should be buying new cars every year or 2. Personally know a healtchare professional who would be a millionaire if they just stopped trading cars in every 6 months.

There's a lot to be said for keeping the same car for a long time (same goes for houses and spouses.)

Are you saying you’re in favor of keeping the same house and car? Sometimes their repair takes a toll as well
