Now with all the ammo shortages, this might not be a bad idea for reloaders who don't necessarily want to invest in a hp mold, or can't find one for a reasonable price. I just got lucky to find a two chamber mold for under $100, so a hollow point mold with more than one chamber is out of the question. I just might try this

Oh yeah this little casting “hack” WORKS idk about other projects besides the one I did. RCBS 22-55-SP it made a devastating cast projectile I have a video on it. If it does what it did to the jugs I shot to a varmint of some sort. Man I would definitely feel bad because I was impressed it’s popped those jugs like a m80.

About to do the same, its not always about expansion with hp's but not bouncing off hide/skin like a round nose often does.

That’s a cool way of making quick hollow points Mike thanks for showing us how you used to do it but you are totally write why make home made hollow points when you can just shoot them with a hand canon 👍

If the casting Lead is to hard that Hollow Point that your making in it is not going to do a darn thing it will not Mushroom like a soft cast Bullet will period. So for any Say Deer Hunting, You just as well may leave it as a solid bullet etc.

I tried it out on a water jug and it just blew apart. They were much to brittle of an alloy. I was just showing how we used to do it before we could afford HP molds. Thanks for watching!

I’ve gotten good expansion filling the point with high temp silicone gasket maker. The blue stuff works pretty good too.
