I know this is a long one.. Please at least watch the "What my racks must have section" and the WHY they are my requirements chapter.... I just want us all to be safe out there, and have a great time lighting up the sky!! This is a numbers game, and issues will happen... Please use best practices...
I would love more people to think like that too.... I could throw up another 5000 shells and not have it happen again, BUT it could happen next week too... It's risk mitigation.. What if there is another bad batch of whistling shells this year? Or that case you just loaded was dropped so many times and it had a loose time fuse.. or it got damp and dried out but now your BP is a massive clump.. so much can happen BEFORE we get these products ready to go...
So glad I could help!!! I do have a video on building UNSPACED racks on my channel that covers this AND to make sure you use good deck screws and what sizes to use! I need to make a video showing how to use spacers as well, I just need the time to build some more racks! BUT Just put a spacer on each end cap, and between each mortar... so add in that extra distance into the size of your bottom board. If you search on the channel its "Let's build this angled rack together OR" I forget the wording for the rest.. I probably should of linked it in this one... DOH!!
ALWAYS !!! clean out your tubes even after a single shot. As Den states, if that piece of cardboard is wedged just right it can cause major problems. 👍💥
YES!! That lift disk can give you a REALLY BAD TIME!! Never mind if there is an ember still burning in there if you drop a shell to soon! And, when I inspect the mortars night of to make sure they are all clear I see a BUNCH of them at angles and in the way! I have even found cardboard rings from other shells that should of played for the NBA LOL
I appreciate your firework shoots, fusing demos, and mortar rack shares. I started to get semi-serious the last couple of years, and this year, I officially invested in my first 24 shot rack and a firing system. I hope to continue this hobby with and share my passion for it with my son. Thank you again for all your videos and shared content.
Thanks!! One of the reasons I started the channel is because I could find videos on HOW to fuse racks, AND demos on fused racks, but never HEY OK I fused it LIKE THIS WITH THIS, and look how it fires so I started filming how I fused my racks AND how they fired so I could take notes for how I wanted to fuse everything for the next show, and figured other people might want to see that as well! CONGRATS!!!!! You started to fall down the rabbit hole and there is NO BOTTOM to it!! And once you start to e-fire you will never go back!! So awesome to watch the show WITH your crowd! AND YES!! Share the addiction..... I mean passion with your boy!! Pass it on for future generations!
This video was phenomenal. There's a million nuggets of information here (many loud, some subtle) and is a great primer for building your own racks. Thanks Den!
You are welcome!! and I am glad you picked up on the more subtle ones too! I didn't want to come across as to preachy but really wanted to put out why I do what I do... I love this hobby so much.. and anything we can do for risk mitigation to keep it out of the news is worth it IMO... I really need to update my rack building video to include spacers as well... Hopefully this winter I will have some free time to make some racks!
I'm still using some milk crates. I'm not exactly proud of it and they definitely make me nervous. It is what it is until I can replace them with better racks. Canister Shells are my favorite and I shoot a few hundred on the 4th and new years. Best of luck to everyone on the giveaway.
I really hope you don't have a problem with them!! I know they WORK, just until they DON'T... and I mean I have sent thousands of shells and only have had 2 major issues, BUT I could have 5 in the next show... you never know! What I did is every show I budgeted 24 - 48 mortars and some lumber costs so I could build some more.. GOOD Luck to people who live close to me to save on shipping!! Ummm I mean, GOOD LUCK EVERYONE :) hehe
This is only my third year shooting a backyard show. I had an accident on the first one. Thankfully no one got hurt. Safety has been top priority since then. I built my own racks with spacers last year. There are videos with a materials list and dimensions. If I can do it, you can too! 👍
Man I am glad no one got hurt!!! AND that Safety is now first and last too! My goal is just to get people to think about their racks, and what CAN happen... I LOVE THIS HOBBY and want us all to be safe and light up that sky!! AND YES They really aren't that hard to build! Just take a couple things in to consideration, and you can bang them out in no time!! Now with spacers, I do like having my table saw and block to just bang out a BUNCH of those, but I have built some on site with just a circular saw and some clamps to hold a guide board!
Oh man!! NOW I am jealous!! My wife HATES my Pyro hobby and would never buy me a rack, cake, fountain, tank, heck not even some cheap dragon eggs!!!! You picked a great one to copy!!
These videos that share this kind of information are invaluable!! Thank you! Last year I had a catastrophic failure, 2 or 3rd tube blew in a homemade rack of 12 - thank God gravity and luck were on my side, bc the rest shot horizontally and luckily none at the people. Lesson(s) learned - and still learning!
I am psyched you found the video AND found it useful! I am really trying to put out good information, and give back to the community that has helped me so much for this hobby I LOVE!! So glad the mortars fell the right way so nothing was pointed at the crowd! Some of the rack designs I see make my cringe so hard because there is NO way you can position them in the field that the crowd is safe! and this is REALLY a numbers game, we could send up 200 shows and never have an issue... OR the next one we do something just pops WRONG.. Hey we are ALL still learning!! I know I still have to learn more as well, BUT as long as we keep learning and growing AND helping each other out WE GOT THIS!!
I've never been huge on the spacers, but you're convincing me I really need to build some this year. Taking safety so carefully this year. I'll be taping off the site and everything this year. Thanks for all the great information Den! I know some people will think it's too long but gotta get all the safety aspects out there and it's great to see the different products offered.
Honestly ALL my first racks where unspaced, and you can see in the video that the majority of mine ARE still unspaced racks. BUT I am going to be moving over to more and more spaced racks as I can. IDK... it's just, IF it will help, why not? I could run shows for 5 years and never have an issue again... OR I could send up my next cake or rack and OH CRAP LOL I WON'T waver on space on the top of the mortars, NOTHING over the plug, and 2x stock on the bottom and sides though!! And I really wanted to stress the WHY on that... LOL I think it's to long LOL I thought about cutting it up, OR taking out the section of looking at my bought racks and make that a separate video but decided to keep it WAY TO long and hope the giveaway got peoples attention to get curious about the other information in it LOL
You are more than welcome!! And I was hoping to make people think some! I love this hobby so much, and anything I can share that helps with risk mitigation is a HUGE win to me!! How far into planning your show are you? I am actually not doing a show the 4th.... I MIGHT be able to sneak in some demos, but I am helping friends out with their shows and pyromusicals the 3rd - 6th and man I am going to be BEAT when its done LOL
I build my own out of old pallets, about half have each tube spaced. I get the majority of my tubes from Great Lakes. The worst part is putting 500 tubes worth of racks away, so much space.
I hope you still use 2x stuck for the bottom and sides! BUT just my recommendation... I feel you!! Storing all the racks is the problem!! They take up SO MUCH SPACE!!!! BUT are worth it!
@@denfireworks I do, the uprights that hold the slats are almost always 2x I also always try to grab the hardwood pallets. 1x oak is heavier but stronger.
@@EdWolfram my other hobby is wood working and I hit the mother load on one pallet.... Nice oak on all the slats.. AND the big spacers where black walnut!!! and man it all cleaned up awesome!!!
Great video! Very informative all around. I have never considered spacers but i care about safety so i have decided to rebuild my 24 shot racks with spacers for next season!
Thanks!! I am trying to get more good information out there... I see so much bad and dangerous info on TH-cam... Man there was some stuff I found last night that made me horrified!! I am still going to run my unspaced racks until I have time to rebuild them too... but anything new WILL be spaced... IDK It just makes sense... I could run 100 more shows and never have an issue... OR who knows what will happen next week... I am glad this video made you think about it too!! When you add the spacers, put one on each end cap too.... So it will be # of mortars +1 for your spacers, that can help your side supports not split too if something happens in the first or last gun!
Very informative video and it's got me looking at my racks that I built to make sure I have the appropriate spacing. Looking forward to more of these informative videos.
AWESOME!! I am glad you found it informative! I really wanted to put information out there about HOW I feel, AND WHY... I am not an expert, I don't even play an expert on TH-cam BUT I do want to share what I have learned, and experienced! I have a couple more informative ones that I hope to get recorded soon.. I am still digging out from Memorial day, AND helping my club get ready for their open shoot BUT I hope I can get one worked on this week!!
Great video! I'm in the process of making some racks and have been trying to glean as much GOOD and SAFE information as possible. Big fan of your channel. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for all the time you put into your videos. They're outstanding and informative. I should have jumped on the octo racks when they were on sale. I actually don't have any 6 shot racks - which is crazy - but I really need a smaller rack that's light and easy to carry around. Pyroboom's a great company. I've bought a lot of stuff from him. He even threw in a headlamp for free when I ordered the P12 control deck a couple months ago.
Thanks for watching!! It really makes the effort worth it!! This one was a BEAR to record and edit BUT I am really happy with how it came out even though it is SUPER LONG LOL Man for light you CANNOT go wrong with the OctoRack!! Hopefully, they start getting cranked out again soon too!! I love having 6 shot racks! Nice, portable, light, can do a sleeve anywhere :) hhmmmm Maybe you can win one :) Man Eric is AWESOME to deal with.. Great prices, great shipping rates, and he really CARES about his business and his customers... I had to RMA my P1200... no questions asked... Had a couple R4s that went weird... Told me what to look at to fix it (and yup he was 100% right I fixed it in 5 minutes with a little solder) and he STILL shipped me a new one too..
I've been slowly expanding my show setup and learning more about racks as I have built a few myself and your videos have been great in finding great suppliers and the detailed reasoning behind your choices is perfect for my brain to understand.
Slow and steady wins the race!! Every show gets a little bigger :) I am legit really happy to hear that I have been able to help!! I am always trying to sneak in some information into my videos, and I like doing these longer ones too so there is more good information out there... it's so easy to trip over bad info out here!!!
@@denfireworks Today I learned there isn't a 2x3 to be had inside a 100 mile radius of my house at any of the 5 lumber shops so I'm gonna have to source some hardwood pallets in search of em. LOL
Thanks Al!! And man, I love seeing how far you have grown!! I can't wait to see a video of your 4th!!! I am so excited for you!!! This one was a beast to record and edit man... BUT I am happy with how it came out!
YES!!! I really want some more sources of GOOD information out there, and I am so happy to hear that it helped you out!! Just hearing that this helped you out and made you think is worth the world to me!! AND OMG.. just got a notification too.. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! The stickers I ship, and I will try to get them out ASAP!! The shirts are print to order, but they have been pretty fast (and good choice on color that one is my favorite!)
I absolutely will be adding spacers this year. I can’t agree more with the thought about where the side braces should be located. Correct placement keeps us safe 👍✌️
Great points, hopefully people take this advice to heart! I'm one of the unfortunate ones to have not received the octoracks before their machine went down. So, bought a bunch of tubes and will build more just in case they don't come in before the 4th. Until then, I'll just wait it out and hope for the best.
I'm doing a little show for the 4th, but the weekend after 13th, for friends and family. First time really scripting(?) a show. I did some finally boards last year since one of the stands we went to had fuses, had a small issue with a cake tipping, scary moment, fortunately we only got mines shot towards us and we were outside the range. No one noticed anything wrong expect me. I ordered 30 dr11 hdpe tubes and am making my own racks, these rack design videos have been a great help.
Awesome!!! I am glad this one is going to help you out!! So for the cake boards, I usually peel the paper off the bottom of the cake and use some liquid nails to glue it down on the board before I start fusing. That will LOCK it down so nothing will tip (some of those cakes LOVE to bounce!!) I know people have had REALLY good luck with using Gorilla tape on the cake to the board as well but I haven't tried it personally. WE always notice what goes wrong in our craft!! LOL I can pick out every flaw in my shows, but the CROWD still loves it :) Distance is our number one friend so I am glad to hear everyone was out of range! I do have a video "let's build this" it starts with, where I show how to put the blades together, to use deck screws, and what sizes etc... Its for an unspaced design, but it is easy to add in spacers as well! AND if you have any questions hit me up here, OR you can get my email from my main channel page and click the MORE by logo!
AWESOME! Thanks! It is REALLY interesting to see how the HDPE handles these failures! I am saving them both as a reminder and show pieces! These tubes can handle SO MUCH pressure, and a consumer can just trashes them!! I plan on keeping up the quality, and improving it where I can!! Thank you again for your support!!
I like six shot racks. I use 2" lumber on the sides and bottom, and dont go over the plug on bottom, and leave room at the top. I like using eyesrews and rebar to stabilize the racks. Any rack can be angled that way. The greateat safety for your audience is distance .
6 shot racks just WORK!! Hold a sleeve, easy to move, if something goes wrong its not a whole chain that is going to go for ages (you see some of those 100+ shot racks people have put together OMG) And angling your shells out even just 10 degrees can fill up SO much more of your sky and stop sky puke!!! Sounds like yours are BEASTS with all 2x!! Over built is ALWAYS better than under built!!!!! And 110% correct, NOTHING trumps proper distances!!!!! BUT we both know there are a lot of people who are still sending stuff up this time of year WITHOUT those distances...
Thanks for the great content.I like learning new ways to fire more safely .I've always stressed firework safety with my boys and nephews since they were little, and now they're all pretty much grown passing the Pyro torch off safely to the Next Generation
Now YOU are doing it RIGHT!! Passing the Pyro Torch on to others!!! Thank you!!! I love this hobby so much, and want it to continue on, and every bad press article that gets out there gives the anti's more ammunition against us! Safety should be our first and last concern on a show day! Even when we get to comfortable we can just slip up...
Thanks for the giveaway chance! It’s always cool looking back at some simple racks that all of us have used early in our pyro careers and now looking at the nicer and safer racks we get and make after we learn what works and what doesn’t!
HEY!! I "KNOW" you now!!! MUHAHAHAH!! RIght? LOL! but every show I try to improve a little bit more and evolve with what I have learned... and, you know, I still have my poor man racks screwed down to some wood :) They are all the Excal style ones VS fiberglass but :)
Glad you enjoyed it!! I do have a Pyro Prep video on the channel, and an unspaced rack build guide if you are interested. This weekend I am hoping to get together a what's in my tool kit video as I get ready to work at my clubs shoot next weekend
I have an 18 shot and a 10 shot rack from a local firework store. they aren't spaced, but I love them and haven't had any issues so far! and I always make sure to dump all my tubes after shooting. But Great vid man! keep up the good work!
Man I hope ALL of us never have an issue!! I just know that ONE day it will happen again LOL I had that CATO in an unspaced rack too, and it held up AWESOME!! and I am still going to run my unspaced ones until I need to rebuild them OR I have more spaced racks... I was helping someone out with prepping one of their shows... and I dropped the first shell and it just didn't SOUND right.... Took the shell out, tipped the mortar over and 8 lift cups came falling out LOL we had a long talk after that LOL LOL THANKS!! Camera improvements are COMING!! And I hope to keep working on videos like this one as well! Good luck on the drawing!!
AWESOME!!! You are going to get SO MUCH more product for SO MUCH less money!! Who did you go with?? Lots of great wholesalers out there!!! Looking to get my start with racks this 4th so this was a great video and answered questions i hadnt even thought of yet. Thanks for doing such a kool giveaway and thanks for all the great videos on prepping, fusing and products. Still getting chameleon shells for the 4th because of you. Wish your channel continued success!
AWESOME!!!! I am psyched you saw it before you started building your racks!! And if you have any questions I love to help! You can leave a comment, or if you go to the home page of the channel and click the little MORE near the logo you can get my email address as well!! I am really trying to share out all the information I have learned, and answer the questions I HAD when I started hoping it helps out other new Pyros! Good luck in the contest!!
Darn good video. Incredibly informative. That PYROBOOM rack with the octagon holes was an idea I was thinking of. Glad to have discovered your channel.
Thanks!! I am really trying to give back to the community with information and demos!! I am REALLY liking the Octo rack so far! I can't wait to run more shells through it and see how it holds up!! I really hope the design is a keeper because it is SO LIGHT!!! I am glad you found me too!! The daily demos WILL continue (and sometimes you will get these bonus ones in the AM!!) I have a couple other setup and prep videos I am hoping to get recorded!
thanks for the vid!! awesome giveaway! all the tips and info about racks is amazing as well. been looking at making some of my own racks and your advice is super helpful!!
AWESOME!! I am glad you found this at the right time!! I have a video showing how I build my unspaced racks, where i go a little more into building materials etc.. as well. I still need to update it to a spaced version as well BUT use good outdoor rated deck screws!!
I gotta admit I was nervous on this one.... I am not an expert... BUT I think there are easy things we can do to mitigate risk... It will never remove it completely but I think we should look at all the data and do the best we can so our crowd enjoys an AWESOME show and everyone goes home happy joking and laughing!
WOOT!! Glad it helped you see what is out there, and what my preferences are (and why)! I really want to share information and what I have learned as well! You can never have to many racks can you? LOL
@@denfireworks you can definitely never have too many racks lol I currently have a pyroboom 6 shot rack (not spaced), and a 6 shot war eagle pyro rack that's 3/4" spaced 👍
@@stevethepyro420 I need to check out the War Eagle ones! I was really impressed by how well that 6 shot Pyroboom non spaced one did!! Maybe in a couple weeks you can have another!!
Great stuff as always. I so jealous you got some of pyro boom's new octo racks, they look so lightweight and minimal, yet strong. I'm of the same mind set, transitioning to spaced racks for safety just makes sense.
My only mistake on the Octo rack was JUST ordering one 6 and one 18.... MAN they are SUPER lightweight, but feel rock solid as well! I really like the design!! I really hope PyroBoom gets their CNC fixed and up and running again so I can pick up some more and everyone who had ordered them can get them too!! Yeah, it just makes sense to me too... To me this is really a WHEN something goes wrong not IF.... and if you plan for the worst all your surprises will be pleasant!!
Awesome video man, very informative! I made my first and only rack two years ago. The first time I used it things went off without a hitch, but last year one of my shells misfired and didn't leave the tube and CATOd... Everyone was a safe distance away so no harm, but it blew one side of my rack open. I didn't have spacers so now I'm wondering if that would've made a difference?? I'll have to do spacers next time I build one! Anyway, keep up the great work, live your videos. Also thought it was funny how at the end that shelf behind you looks like it's almost buckling under the weight of all those cakes hahaha
Thanks! And I am glad you found it informative!! So, I am moving to all spaced racks as I can afford/have time... That space WILL help give room for gasses to expand and not stress out your rack!! NOW if you have a spicy shell... I like Excal poor mans racks for those! LOL I just re organized the shed before I recorded this one... and a couple of the shelves the supports where getting pulled out. DOH.. Good problem to have, BUT I really need to light more fuses!
Thanks!! I am trying to make some good ones!! I am thinking of dropping the close camera in some ones I am editing now... Going to see how people feel about it.. I can still re-edit and add them in if needed! Good Luck!!
Den! My man! It’s super good seeing your face for once. You’re just a likable guy, who seems to be just as obsessed with fireworks/Pyro as me! Dude super insightful video. I was literally just thinking about building my own racks this week. This was INCREDIBLY helpful. I have 300 cans! So I hope I win 😆 at least account for 6-8 of the 300
WELL, I am happy that A) you found this wicked helpful AND at the right time and B) my ugly mug didn't scare you away LOL or that rogue grey beard hair that was sticking straight out at the end didn't LOL when I was editing I was like... MAN you need to cut that one dude LOL Dude, I am SO HOOKED on Pyro!!! It IS an obsession/addiction!!! I LOVE IT!! And if I am not lighting fuses/editing videos, I am watching to see what everyone else is lighting LOL I do have a video up on the channel going into how I build my unspaced racks.. it starts with Let's build this angled rack together IIRC.. Good luck to you!! You can NEVER have to many racks!! and with that many cans, yeah you want some RACKS!! LOL
Been wondering about specific with racks. I bought some of the double rowed pyroboom racks last year and was a little skeptical of the safety. Seems like the single row ones are much safer since if you blow out the sides it has less chance to blow out other tubes.
Yeah... I ran the double stack 12 shots from PyroBoom for a year and a half... never had a problem BUT the more I looked at them... Then I had the flowerpot and went.. WELL these need a new home LOL They are still AWESOME for Ball shells, and man they have worked awesome for larger barrage candles too!! They MIGHT be fine (that 6 shot one held up GREAT) BUT.... IDK I would rather be overly cautious now...
Woodworking is my other hobby, and I really like to just get some shop time and crank out some racks too!! That is why the pile of the ones I built is so high LOL I got a few more I didn't use for Memorial day because I only ran demos not a full show after, so I didn't drag them out. You can never have to many racks!
Thanks! I really wanted to get some more information out there with examples! I know with consumer stuff we don't HAVE to follow NFPA 1123/1124 BUT I just thinks it makes sense too. I want to keep everyone at my show safe and happy! And I don't want to blow up my own yard or someone else's either!!
Thanks!! I was nervous with this one, but I really wanted to get my thoughts out there, and try to get some (what I think) is some solid information out there, and hope it helps people! Good luck on the contest!! Even though I don't want to ship to the left coast LOL :)
I can't wait to try it out!! I LOVE trying house brands!! I know I will be back their no matter what though because OMG They carry so many brands that are tough for me to get locally!!! REALLY REALLY like the Octo rack so far!! I can't wait to run more shells through them and see how they hold up!!
I have a few racks that I did not leave any space on top. Never had an accident.. yet! Thanks to your video, I’m going to build new racks now! Love your videos & Good Luck Everyone!!! 🧨
So glad to hear that!! And man, the more I do this, the more I realize it is just a numbers game and a WHEN not IF... I need to put together a compilation video of some of the stuff I have had go wrong LOL Great 500g cake from a SOLID company blow out on the 3rd shot and just send lit tubes 20 - 30' away in all different directions, low breaks, cato's and flowerpots LOL If you have any questions hit me up and ask! I do have a video up to build unspaced racks (that I need to update to include spacers) on the channel.. it's title is "Let's build this angled rack together! Or make it a straight rack, or 8 shot.. You decide"
As always great vid, I also second pyro boom racks. Got mine last year and had to get rid of the poor man racks (milk crates) not going back. Looking into spacing my future racks now. 🤞🏽 only cato I’ve had were from those recalled American Glory shells from RA
SO HAPPY to hear there is one less MCR out there!!!!! Thank you!!! Pyroboom has been a great company for me! Man I have spent A LOT of money there, and plan on spending more (when I get it again LOL)
I never thought I needed racks because I have always done backyard stuff but since I joined the Crackerjacks fireworks club last year I am now addicted to them!
OH I have heard good things about Crackerjacks!! I met a couple members at PGI and the Bada Boom sit down!! The first time I sent a can up I was hooked too LOL I still love my 200g cakes, I love my novelties... but closing out with a mass of consumer cans is just AWESOME!!!
I am planning on building my first racks this year. I was planning on using your unspaced rack design, but now I am thinking about building spaced racks so I hope you do post a video on a spaced rack. :D Do you plan on making a video on fusing?
So I don't have a video on the spaced design YET... BUT follow the unspaced rack and when figuring out how long that bottom board is add in 3/4" per Mortar+1. That way you can have a spacer on each end cap and between each mortar! I use 1x3 for my spacers. Pyro Prep with the Den, I do show how I fuse my cannister shells, but the theory is the same for fusing anything up! If you have any questions hit me up though!!
@@denfireworks Thanks for confirming rack dimensions! I'm waiting on my PyroBoom tubes. Do you recommend 1/2" or 3/4" plywood for the rails? I really appreciate that you show how you fuse up your rack for the product demos, and that you have a crowd view. How do you prevent fuse jumping for that setup?
Recommend 3/4" but I have been known to use 1/2" as well depending on stock... So for fuse jump I put painters tape over all the fuse down the line! I just bought some 3" painters tape too that lets me just cover the whole mortar top and it is a lot faster to put on and sticks better LOL Really the only reason I was recording my shows and fusing racks was so I could remember what fuse I used on what rack AND compare it to how it ran LOL I figured other people might want to know too so I started posting... it has come a long way since then LOL
Thanks!! I am really trying! I know I am not an expert, and really I am still learning so much as well, but any information I can pass on I want to get out there! I really hope it helps people when they are looking at buying or building some racks!
Thank you!!! I love this hobby so much and just want to pass on everything I have learned to anyone I can! And I am really trying to get quality demos out too! I am not going to lie, the channel is a LOT of work, and man it eats up some time, BUT I AM HAVING SO MUCH FUN WITH IT!!! I am really glad you are enjoying what I have been doing! Welcome to the channel!! I hope you stick around and keep enjoying it! The daily uploads will continue, and I will keep trying to get extra videos like this out too! I REALLY like the Octo rack design and weight!! I can't wait to run more shells through them and see how they hold up!! I know they are going to be loaded at every chance I can get to really try to stress them!
I'm one of the screw my guns in and its because im hoping in the event of a CATO if the rack does blow apart the tubes not affected will stay pointing skyward. I flip my racks over to clean thd guns out. Also ive got a couple tubes with cracks in the plugs but they dont got all the way through so i took the worst 3 and test fired a couple shells out of them and worked like they are supposed to. So im gonna get 1 more year out of them.
I know a lot of people who do!! Man it's a lot of work to tip over that whole rack though! I am old and out of shape LOL The ones I bought from the display guy where all screwed in, but MAN all of those orange mortars where shot out... I took them out to check the plugs when I first got them and man there where air gaps everywhere... So when I replaced them I didn't screw them back in so I could keep an eye on the plugs.. NOW This dude did WAY more shows then I even have so wear and tear is to be expected!! If you are getting the right height and no low breaks then you aren't losing anything out the bottom yet! FULL SEND!
You are welcome, and thank you both!! I really hope it helps out everyone, or at least makes someone think about their racks! I love this hobby so much, and I want us all to be safe and WOW the crowd and ourselves!
Thanks!! Trying to get some good information out there as WELL as some fun demos! It just, makes sense that we prep for the WHEN not IF I think.... Good luck!! Sunday AM I will be picking some names!!
YES!! And it really is a matter of WHEN not IF!!! I could do 100 shows and not have an issue... OR the next one I send could go BAD! IDK, it just makes sense to me to try and mitigate our risk, so everyone can have a great time and we can keep the show going!!
@@denfireworks if you play with fire long enough eventually you are gonna get burned I was using homemade racks and thankfully I had done my homework saved myself a lot of trouble
Great rack video and of course I want in the drawing. I am one of those pyros who bought from the company you mentioned early in the video with the top rail right at the top of the rack. I am now building my own sine I have 40+ years in the construction industry and I am building them like the pyro boom and pro pyro racks you displayed in this video. Great video about all racks and your experience and opinions.
You are ENTERED!!! AND If you win I am not shipping it to CA LOL We can meet up when you are this way LOL LOL Dude I LOVED your rack when I met you in Nevada!! I just had that one issue with it LOL :) There are some things I won't budge on!! You def have the building skills!! AND You where copying a large companies design!! I want to put out good information man... and I am really happy with the response this one has been getting, and I really do hope it helps out more people!!
Been looking forward to this video and hearing your thoughts on the different rack designs. My OctoRacks got delivered a little bit ago and can't wait for the 4th to give them a go! I did have a little bit of damage on one of the racks and Eric from PyroBoom was great to work with and already sent me a replacement piece. Can't recommend them enough. One question I have in terms of rack storage, do you stack racks on top of each other? I've tried not to to avoid having all the weight on the tubes themselves since I have the 1.5in space at the top. I was also just thinking of putting all my tubs in a separate tub and then stacking just the wood easier. Thanks Den!
AWESOME that you got your racks before the CNC broke!! I REALLY like mine so far... Only used them once but they are SO LIGHT!! Eric is 110% a stand up guy who backs his products!! I haven't had any problems with my racks, BUT I have RMAed a control deck and a couple of the happiness mods and never any questions, just here you go, and makes it right! IF they carry something I need I get it from him just because of the customer service and how they treat everyone! Personally, I stack all mine on top of each other (plug side up) BUT I am using them at least every other month, and MORE other times of the year, so it would just be a PITA to take them apart all the time LOL if I was using them once a year, I would probably break them all down to blades so I could lay them on top of each other and save room but that's a lot of work!!
Thanks!!! Man, I am loving the channel too LOL It is frustrating at times, and man it keeps me hoping around all over the place BUT I am having so much fun!!! And I really hope this video helps some one out! The stash is killing me..... I GOT SO MUCH I NEED TO SEE!!! Good luck!!
I have 12 of the 12 shot PyroBoom racks and 2 of the 18 shot PyroBoom racks. Eric didn't have the Octo Racks available when I got mine. I'm still going to have to use them for DR11s because of cost constraints of re-racking. I also repurpose my fiberglass tubes by screwing them down to 2x4s which are then screwed to the appropriate spots on my cake boards (usually for padding durations on lone cakes that vary in duration every year). I only do one show a year so I'll just cross my fingers that I won't have issues. 😬
Those 12 shot racks do work great!! It is a personal decision to stop using double stack racks for Cans.... They are still built really well built, and I used the CRAP out of mine before I decided to switch over, AND it was a slow process as I built/bought more racks. The first 2 I decommed I just built a new rack and used the mortars AND I rushed that one because I really wanted to try the barrage candle idea with them LOL Poor man racks (screwing down the fiberglass ones OR Even better the Exal HDPE ones) work AWESOME! AND they are super safe because they ARE spaced out thanks to the base!! They are always what I used for... spicy shells..... I wish you awesome luck and hundreds of shows with no issues!!! Heck I really wish none of us Pyros every have any issues!! I just plan for the worst because, well you never know!
Great video man! Yeah I’m sure it was a pita to edit😂. The Cato blowout in the tube definitely has space full time in my head on shoot nite, but all our sketch box style racks are in the finale so I can live with a mass explosion given our setbacks etc. and our space constraints. (As I’m saying this Moonlight Swim could definitely use a rebuild haha maybe I’ll shift it to there this year also). We’ve definitely had our share of flowerpots/extremely low breaks over the years, but I haven’t had one do that to a tube yet…One important topic you missed is fasteners-albeit homemade racks more of an issue-and the importance of using construction grade fasteners not crap. Thanks for the opportunity to win, love the channel and content. Good luck pyros-stay safe! 💥🇺🇸💥
Oh it was a BEAR to edit LOL especially seeing the first time I walked through all the racks I never turned that camera on *sighs* Add in me goofing up, and just how darn long it was and MAN it was a beast LOL BUT I am glad I did it! I have wanted to do a video like this for awhile but kept running out of time.. and then LITERALLY Memorial day I had my first CATO... and yup, I had to get this one out!! Space does trump all!!! 300' away? Nothing that can get damaged in that areas PHEW!! And if its the finale and everything else is spend and you don't have to worry about it taking out the rest of the field that has yet to go... OK you can relax a little! BUT I know there are a LOT of people who don't have that much space to their crowd, or woods, or neighbors and I really do want to live in their heads as well that risk mitigation is KEY!! That one was a whistling shell... Not even one of the Red Apple ones... I have had some bad luck with them.. BUT This was the only one that took out the gun!! I should of mentioned it in this one.... In my rack building video, I do stress good deck screws are a must for sheer strength and holding up to weather... BUT I really should of mentioned it here too... I really need to make some time to build a few more spaced racks and update the rack building video...
Thanks for watching! And I am a really happy you found it useful too! I have been meaning to do this video for way to long but I am really happy to get the information out there!! Good luck on the drawing!!
Always can use a 6 shooter!!!! I never thought that I would have more canister shells than racks lol, but also unfortunately the dominator shirts won't fit me either but going to check out ur merch I love stickers too and maybe u have a shirt that will work for me.
You can NEVER have to many racks!!!! And everytime I am like OK I am done, I don't need more... and then.... well you know... ONE More won't hurt... LOL I am size inclusive!! All the shirts go up to 5x! and I made sure they are all 100% cotton as well so we can still handlight in them as well!
Yeah I went to ur merch and I seen t shirts only go up to 3x zip ups 5x , zip ups perfect size fluffy lol but the shirts size no good unless u just need to restock.
Good luck Benny!! You have been with me a long time would love to see you get a rack!! BUT the random generator will be recorded! No funny business hehe
Just got my octorack from PB, still have to put it together. Can confirm Shipping to NH is $$$$$. Been thinking about building a dr9 rack also - on the spacers is it better to use staples or screws?
AWESOME That he is shipping them again!! I can't wait to send more rounds though mine and see how it holds up! Pyroboom does have great shipping rates though, I def have to give them that! I am hoping Pro Pyro does have theirs looking better too for us outliers in the barren North East of Pyro LOL AND MAN I hope you win now my shipping would be GREAT THEN and I could meet another local pyro!! DR9 rack I wouldn't space... the shells have less comp and the mortars are thicker so I haven't had a problem.. had a bunch of them blow in the gun and been A-OK it's just a really pretty mine effect :) BUT I 100% back you building a DR9 rack!! I LOVE ball shells!! NOW to the question you ACTUALLY asked LOL I use both.. When I am near my compressor and I can use my air nail gun I staple those in and move on (I staple the rails too and then put screws in after) IF it's not running or I am somewhere else 1.5" deck screws work great! You ever look into the NHPA?
@@stevendegrappo5143 Two open shoots a year with 1.4 and 1.3, and a few 1.4 only shoots a year. Lots of group buys AND Oct a few of us are each doing a pyromusical and there is a 4x4 board contest going on :)
The answer is sometimes... The mortar I had that CATOed, that was in an unspaced rack from Pyroboom and it did GREAT!! IF that was a heavier shell, it could of gone differently... SO I am still going to use my unspaced racks... BUT all new racks I build or buy personally will be spaced racks, and I will slowly phase out my unspaced ones!, they are just safer over all... BUT You will notice it wasn't one of my MAIN THREE must haves too...
Den, I would just like to start off by saying, "What a nice set of racks you have." All joking aside I really loved this video and it was very informative. But I do have one thing to say about the hexagonal rack, as a once has been cnc machinist I noticed the angles are not radiused, This is going to be a very weak spot in this rack. Be vigilant when inspecting the hexagonal cut outs as they will fatigue easily causing hairline cracks and blow apart. Stay safe!!
Why thank you!! That's why I need the 3x shirt :p Don't want to bring all the pyros to my yard LOL HHMMMM.... I planned on inspecting this rack more thoroughly after each shoot because it IS a new design... NOW I will be hyper vigilant!! SAFETY is number ONE!! Would you mind emailing Pyroboom this? Or do you mind if I share your comment with Eric as well?
@denfireworks I do not mind at all remember sharing is caring, I would not want anyone to get hurt, I would not mind emailing them but I think coming from you might be a better response.I do not know for sure just saying.
@@heavenswarrior26 I will send it on!! I just want permission before sending stuff out! BUT if you send it as well, maybe he can ask you some questions too so I am glad to read the follow up one too!
I really wanted to try them October racks. I even had 4 on order but unfortunately the cnc machine that cuts the octo parts is down. So if I win one of these that would be awsome. I'm 2xl from Florida btw lol
Yeah :( I really hope that machine is up and running again and cranking some out!!! I hope you win too!! FL would be cheaper to ship to than some states AND I have 2x shirts from Dominator LOL
Do you think the shell didn’t leave the tube because it was miss placed backwards? After you dumped what was left inside there was some debris could it be the lift charge pushing down instead of the correct way?
I 100% know that the shell was loaded correctly. I have watched the footage a bunch of times on this one.. and it's like as soon as the fuse hits it the tail went off in the gun but the shell didn't lift at all.
🔥 video keep the videos coming very Informative I was thinking about getting more racks for this year if it's in the budget but thanks for your thoughts on different racks out there
Thanks!! and I am really glad you liked it!!! I was nervous on this one.. and MAN I know it's a LONG ONE!! I was really torn about cutting it apart but, I wanted as much information as I could include, and OK you want to see what's on the market, jump to those sections, want to see how I clean them, HEY There is a chapter for that! AND hopefully win a rack and shirt!!
@denfireworks it would be nice to win lol but hey I'm happy for whoever wins but it was a great video overall 😊 very helpful you did a great job sir oh next time you can see what types of tunes hold up better overall 😀
I always look forward to your videos Den. I love fireworks but I live in NY and cant legally (wink wink) light em off anyway. So I dont want the racks give em to someone who can use em and keep posting your vids cause they rock!
Thanks!! I am trying to put out good stuff! Oh man... That would be rough... 2 years ago.. Meh I wouldn't of minded LOL NOW I NEED TO LIGHT FUSES LOL I am glad I can take the edge off though until those (wink wink) times come up for ya!!! LOL well if you win you can at least take a shirt!!
Thanks! I am hoping to get more informational videos like this one up on the channel, and just try to get some good information out there... It's so easy to find bad designs or setups on TH-cam...
WOOT!! I am glad you liked it!! I know it's a LONG ONE!! So far no issues at all, those stables are sunk in deep and haven't budged at all. and when you think about it, the mortar plugs are all stapled in as well, and they take the most force when that lift goes! I still inspect them after each shoot because... Well, that's what I do LOL
I know this is a long one.. Please at least watch the "What my racks must have section" and the WHY they are my requirements chapter.... I just want us all to be safe out there, and have a great time lighting up the sky!! This is a numbers game, and issues will happen... Please use best practices...
Exactly, It's not if, it's when something goes wrong.
Thanks Den, this will help me avoid mistakes and know what to look for when I do my first build.
@@denfireworks 😂👍
@denfireworks he may be already hooked. He almost gets more excited than I am to run to our neighborhood store. Picking out what to shoot and when.
@@DEPryo AWESOME!!!!! So you already got your scripter as well!!!
I'm guilty 😬
@@fazzfoodjoint5380 progress not perfection
Great video! Lots of great information! My wife got me a 6 shot for Christmas from propyrorack and I base all my racks off that design!
Oh man!! NOW I am jealous!! My wife HATES my Pyro hobby and would never buy me a rack, cake, fountain, tank, heck not even some cheap dragon eggs!!!!
You picked a great one to copy!!
You can't forget about the octo Racks they sell replacement parts
YES!! I should of pointed that out too.... Crap... well into the details it goes!! Thanks for the reminder!!
@@denfireworks very well said, thank you!
OR I could send up my next cake or rack and OH CRAP LOL
I WON'T waver on space on the top of the mortars, NOTHING over the plug, and 2x stock on the bottom and sides though!!
Great info as always thanks for the content to keep me busy and thinking until the big day .. burn safe and keep the good stuff coming
@@denfireworks I just usually do a small show for my family get together, we light up for a while then I do like a 15 minute show for them.
@@dezrider27 and man, that sounds like a BLAST!! Get everyone in on the fun!!
One of the best videos I’ve seen on racks! Keep up the great work Den 🐻
Thanks Pyro!! I know this one got REALLY long but, man once I start talking sometimes I can't shut myself up!! I am glad you found it informative!!
Been watching you from the beginning brother, glad at your growth, and of course another great video.
Thanks for the input 👍 and generosity
I really hope it was helpful and informative!! Good luck too!!
Great video! I'm in the process of making some racks and have been trying to glean as much GOOD and SAFE information as possible. Big fan of your channel. Keep up the good work!
AWESOME!! I am glad I got this one up in time to help!!!! If you have questions, you know where to find me!!
This one was a BEAR to record and edit BUT I am really happy with how it came out even though it is SUPER LONG LOL
Man for light you CANNOT go wrong with the OctoRack!! Hopefully, they start getting cranked out again soon too!! I love having 6 shot racks! Nice, portable, light, can do a sleeve anywhere :) hhmmmm Maybe you can win one :)
Man Eric is AWESOME to deal with..
LOL
Great Informative video Den! I really appreciate any quality content with regards to pyro and safety! And yours is top notch. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Al!! And man, I love seeing how far you have grown!! I can't wait to see a video of your 4th!!! I am so excited for you!!! This one was a beast to record and edit man... BUT I am happy with how it came out!

Lotta good info, keep going Den.
Thanks!! I am glad you enjoyed it Big Bro!! I am going to keep this rolling!
I absolutely will be adding spacers this year. I can’t agree more with the thought about where the side braces should be located. Correct placement keeps us safe 👍✌️
Yes! It really is just a numbers game... WHY NOT be as safe as we can?? Every little accident man the news grabs on to and trumpets across the land!
Great points, hopefully people take this advice to heart! I'm one of the unfortunate ones to have not received the octoracks before their machine went down. So, bought a bunch of tubes and will build more just in case they don't come in before the 4th. Until then, I'll just wait it out and hope for the best.
I was also in that group. My octo rack arrived on Friday, the 31st. (It was supposed to ship May 17). Hopefully yours is coming soon! Good luck!
Oh man... that stinks you got caught up in the CNC going down :( Man Eric had to of been gutted when that thing broke!!
Glad you got yours!!! I can't wait to run a bunch more shells through mine and see how they hold up!
Informative video! Great giveaway.
Thanks!! I really hope this video helps out some Pyros! Good luck on the giveaway!!
Love your channel. Watch it every day.
In this episode I found it interesting to see the tubes that had malfunctions.
Keep up the good content
AWESOME!
One of the best examples of what a good rack should be! Great video keep it up!
Thanks!! Trying to put out some solid information!! So much bad info on TH-cam... BUT I am trying!! Good luck too!! Drawing is soon!
Hold a sleeve, easy to move, if something goes wrong its not a whole chain that is going to go for ages (you see some of those 100+ shot racks people have put together OMG)
And angling your shells out even just 10 degrees can fill up SO much more of your sky and stop sky puke!!!
My dad started teaching me around 7 or 8 and I was always checking out pyrotechnic books consuming any info I had available, and still learning at 48.
Man there is ALWAYS more to learn!! That is awesome though that your Dad passed it to you and you are continuing it down the line!!
Interesting and informative video. Definitely looking forward to more of them.
Glad you enjoyed it!! I do have a Pyro Prep video on the channel, and an unspaced rack build guide if you are interested. This weekend I am hoping to get together a what's in my tool kit video as I get ready to work at my clubs shoot next weekend
Love all the 1.4 pro demos. Keep them coming!
Will do!! I still have some left from Feb, AND I sent a bunch more up on Sunday (Grave Digger that I just posted was from that one!!)
I have an 18 shot and a 10 shot rack from a local firework store. they aren't spaced, but I love them and haven't had any issues so far! and I always make sure to dump all my tubes after shooting. But Great vid man! keep up the good work!
Man I hope ALL of us never have an issue!! I just know that ONE day it will happen again LOL
I had that CATO in an unspaced rack too, and it held up AWESOME!! and I am still going to run my unspaced ones until I need to rebuild them OR I have more spaced racks...
I was helping someone out with prepping one of their shows... and I dropped the first shell and it just didn't SOUND right.... Took the shell out, tipped the mortar over and 8 lift cups came falling out LOL we had a long talk after that LOL LOL
THANKS!! Camera improvements are COMING!! And I hope to keep working on videos like this one as well!
Good luck on the drawing!!
I’m just now getting started with wholesale. Thanks for the videos and knowledge. I can’t wait for my order to come in.
AWESOME!!! You are going to get SO MUCH more product for SO MUCH less money!! Who did you go with?? Lots of great wholesalers out there!!!
I am always willing to share knowledge, and my door is ALWAYS open!! If you have questions ask, you can leave a comment, or my email is available from the main channel page if you click MORE up by my intro and logo!!!
I went thru schnitters this year!
Awesome video! Very informative. Gotta love the giveaways!
Thanks!! There is so much BAD information out there that I just hope to get some good information out too combat it as well!!
I wish you luck!!
Very good information on the tacks for everybody.
Great information! I will consider building new racks!
AWESOME!!! Legit, I hope NO ONE ever has a failure EVER, but it really is a numbers game...
Thanks for sharing agree that rack safety needs to be addressed!
Good luck to the winners!
You are welcome!! I hope it helps out some new Pyros!! Good luck to you as well!!
thanks for the vid!! awesome giveaway! all the tips and info about racks is amazing as well. been looking at making some of my own racks and your advice is super helpful!!
AWESOME!! I am glad you found this at the right time!! I have a video showing how I build my unspaced racks, where i go a little more into building materials etc.. as well. I still need to update it to a spaced version as well BUT use good outdoor rated deck screws!!
@@denfireworks Sweet I will check it out!!
Great video on the safety of your racks n why you do it. Very informative and helpful. Thank you 🙏.
Very useful information Den! Helps out with choosing a rack for the first time. Thanks for sharing and lots of good racks there 👍
You have great videos! The thing I enjoy the most is the multiple views..the drone view is great. Thanks for the chance to win.
MAN you need to cut that one dude LOL
Dude, I am SO HOOKED on Pyro!!! It IS an obsession/addiction!!! I LOVE IT!! And if I am not lighting fuses/editing videos, I am watching to see what everyone else is lighting LOL
I do have a video up on the channel going into how I build my unspaced racks.. it starts with Let's build this angled rack together IIRC..
WELL these need a new home LOL
They are still AWESOME for Ball shells, and man they have worked awesome for larger barrage candles too!! They MIGHT be fine (that 6 shot one held up GREAT) BUT.... IDK I would rather be overly cautious now...
Nice man I enjoyed the vid and appreciate the giveaway. I also actually enjoy building my own mortar racks.
Woodworking is my other hobby, and I really like to just get some shop time and crank out some racks too!! That is why the pile of the ones I built is so high LOL I got a few more I didn't use for Memorial day because I only ran demos not a full show after, so I didn't drag them out. You can never have to many racks!
Great advice and explanation of why you feel the way you do. Nfpa 1123/24 is great for people who are even hobbyists.
Thanks! I really wanted to get some more information out there with examples! I know with consumer stuff we don't HAVE to follow NFPA 1123/1124 BUT I just thinks it makes sense too. I want to keep everyone at my show safe and happy! And I don't want to blow up my own yard or someone else's either!!
Awesome video as always Den! Very informative.
Thanks!! I was nervous with this one, but I really wanted to get my thoughts out there, and try to get some (what I think) is some solid information out there, and hope it helps people!
Good luck on the contest!! Even though I don't want to ship to the left coast LOL :)
Dude hopefully you like the Stinger stuff you got! Cant wait to see your opinion on that brand! The octo racks are sweet!
I need to put together a compilation video of some of the stuff I have had go wrong LOL Great 500g cake from a SOLID company blow out on the 3rd shot and just send lit tubes 20 - 30' away in all different directions, low breaks, cato's and flowerpots LOL
If you have any questions hit me up and ask! I do have a video up to build unspaced racks (that I need to update to include spacers) on the channel.. it's title is "Let's build this angled rack together! Or make it a straight rack, or 8 shot.. You decide"
Some people need this information for many reasons.
There is so much BAD information out there... I am just trying to get some good solid information out there!!
You got me thinking of getting some spaced racks now. Dope giveaway thank you 🙏🏽
I never thought I needed racks because I have always done backyard stuff but since I joined the Crackerjacks fireworks club last year I am now addicted to them!
I just bought some 3" painters tape too that lets me just cover the whole mortar top and it is a lot faster to put on and sticks better LOL
Really the only reason I was recording my shows and fusing racks was so I could remember what fuse I used on what rack AND compare it to how it ran LOL I figured other people might want to know too so I started posting... it has come a long way since then LOL
Loved the video and I really found it to be informative with great logic behind it. Love your videos thanks 👍
Thanks!! I am really trying! I know I am not an expert, and really I am still learning so much as well, but any information I can pass on I want to get out there!
I really hope it helps people when they are looking at buying or building some racks!
Love how thorough and passionate your videos are!!! You’re one of the best content creators out there and never disappoint!!! **I WON** 😃😃😃
And I am going to keep on doing it!!

Nice video. Like to get some more racks myself so it was nice to see the newer options and your thoughts on them.
Thanks!! I was really hoping that it would help someone out, and I just really wanted to get some more information out there! I am really liking the Octo Rack so far!! I have only run one show through them but the design looks really nice and THEY ARE SO LIGHT!!
Just discovered your channel. Great content so far. Love the idea of the octagon racks.
I am old and out of shape LOL
The ones I bought from the display guy where all screwed in, but MAN all of those orange mortars where shot out...
FULL SEND!
Nice video thanks for sharing some safety info on racks and mortars...
You are welcome, and thank you both!! I really hope it helps out everyone, or at least makes someone think about their racks! I love this hobby so much, and I want us all to be safe and WOW the crowd and ourselves!
Love the videos brother, this one was awesome. I am on the same page with the racks and spacing....Thanks for the chance 👍🏻 💥💥💥💥💥💥
Thanks!! Trying to get some good information out there as WELL as some fun demos! It just, makes sense that we prep for the WHEN not IF I think.... Good luck!! Sunday AM I will be picking some names!!
Im pretty sure i check all the boxes on the qualifications 🇱🇷
Great information on racks, learned a lot of useful information.
AWESOME!! Glad I could help you out to learn a couple things!! Good luck on the drawing Sunday!
Stoked for this video. I'll pop back in at the end lol
I hope I didn't let you down!!! This one was a lot of work, but I THINK I covered the areas I wanted to....
@@denfireworksthis was a great video. I'm always happy to see stuff go up in the air but the safety side is so big!
Definitely agree with rack design, had a Cato and the space or buffer saved my rack and that segment of the show
YES!! And it really is a matter of WHEN not IF!!! I could do 100 shows and not have an issue... OR the next one I send could go BAD!
IDK, it just makes sense to me to try and mitigate our risk, so everyone can have a great time and we can keep the show going!!
@@denfireworks if you play with fire long enough eventually you are gonna get burned
I was using homemade racks and thankfully I had done my homework saved myself a lot of trouble
AND If you win I am not shipping it to CA LOL We can meet up when you are this way LOL LOL
Dude I LOVED your rack when I met you in Nevada!! I just had that one issue with it LOL :) There are some things I won't budge on!! You def have the building skills!! AND You where copying a large companies design!!
I want to put out good information man... and I am really happy with the response this one has been getting, and I really do hope it helps out more people!!
Great stuff! Thank you.
Glad you liked it!! I know it's super long, but I hope you skipped to the good bits LOL and Good Luck!!
Very informative. Watched the entire thing and then forgot to enter for giveaway until I saw reminder post. Haha
I am glad you made it!! and that I did the reminder!!
I love your channel man keep up the solid work. All solid points on the racks 👌. Awesome stash there as well.
Thanks!!! Man, I am loving the channel too LOL It is frustrating at times, and man it keeps me hoping around all over the place BUT I am having so much fun!!! And I really hope this video helps some one out!
The stash is killing me..... I GOT SO MUCH I NEED TO SEE!!!
Good luck!!
Another informative video. Thanks pyro
You are welcome!! I know this one got REALLY long.. but I wanted to keep everything together!
The first 2 I decommed I just built a new rack and used the mortars AND I rushed that one because I really wanted to try the barrage candle idea with them LOL
Poor man racks (screwing down the fiberglass ones OR Even better the Exal HDPE ones) work AWESOME!
Buddy and I filled a uhaul trailer full of fireworks this year for our first year. Gonna be sick! Thanks for video!
Sounds like you got an awesome time coming up!!! Be safe and have a BLAST!!!
Great info video! Awesome give away! Good luck to everyone!
Thanks man!! I am trying to share what I have seen and experienced!! Good luck to you too!
Very useful information. thanks for the Video 👌
LOL
I am size inclusive!!
31:21 very informative and well done video. My family and I always enjoy watching.
AWESOME!! I love hearing about families that watch the channel together!!! Pyro Families for the WIN!!!!!!
Thanks Den and good luck pyros
Good luck Benny!! You have been with me a long time would love to see you get a rack!! BUT the random generator will be recorded! No funny business hehe
Thanks brother and no problem man you are a true Pyro and all good good luck to all, have a great and blessed weekend pyro and stay safe 👊🍻💥
Just got my octorack from PB, still have to put it together. Can confirm Shipping to NH is $$$$$. Been thinking about building a dr9 rack also - on the spacers is it better to use staples or screws?
Also, I'm in NH so I can meet you, no shipping. LOL!!
@@denfireworks I have, thinking about joining. do they have a lot of activity?
@@stevendegrappo5143 Two open shoots a year with 1.4 and 1.3, and a few 1.4 only shoots a year. Lots of group buys AND Oct a few of us are each doing a pyromusical and there is a 4x4 board contest going on :)
@@denfireworks Hmm. Sounds like something I can sink all my money into. I'M IN!! LOL
Loved the video very helpful learned a lot about racks
Awesome!! I am glad to hear that!! and I really do hope it helped!
Would you say you can get away without spacers IF you have the 1 1/2 inch space up top and the 3 inch side support in place?
That's why I need the 3x shirt :p Don't want to bring all the pyros to my yard LOL
HHMMMM....
@@denfireworks Or just maybe I will email them as well twice the power.
@@heavenswarrior26 I will send it on!! I just want permission before sending stuff out! BUT if you send it as well, maybe he can ask you some questions too so I am glad to read the follow up one too!
@@denfireworks absolutely, In fact it is done I emailed them and let eric know that you were going to contact him as well.
I have made a 12 shot and 4 shot racks before and I didn't put that much thought into them, but pretty close to the designs of yours
I hope you think of this one when you build your next set!! I love throwing up a nice rack or two of cans :)

Awesome giveaway den. Good luck to everyone
In with a half hour to spare!! Good Luck!! Been meaning to do this for ages... Those Pyro Boom racks I got on their Black Friday sale LOL
Thanks for the educational vid!
My pleasure (OK Maybe not this one was a bear to edit LOL BUT I am glad I did it!!) I hope to get some more done as well!
We use advantec vs OSB at the bottom for our built out 1.3g rack
Ya know... that is a great idea!!!! Why the heck did I not think of that??
I always look forward to your videos Den. I love fireworks but I live in NY and cant legally (wink wink) light em off anyway. So I dont want the racks give em to someone who can use em and keep posting your vids cause they rock!
Thanks!! I am trying to put out good stuff! Oh man... That would be rough... 2 years ago.. Meh I wouldn't of minded LOL NOW I NEED TO LIGHT FUSES LOL I am glad I can take the edge off though until those (wink wink) times come up for ya!!!
LOL well if you win you can at least take a shirt!!
VERY informative!
Thanks! I am hoping to get more informational videos like this one up on the channel, and just try to get some good information out there... It's so easy to find bad designs or setups on TH-cam...
@denfireworks loved the video. Do the racks with the staples get loose over time vs screws?
