Nana Ama, if you don't believe what Ken is saying that Akans has been denying jobs, go to Local Gov't secretariat and check. Ask for those who took the exams and just check with those selected. I don't know whether the woman is still in charge now(Madam Petra). Trust me, God will judge all of us one day.

TV3 leans left. Usually very much an NDC supporting TV station. Nana Aba Anamoah seem to be more sympathetic to NPP... now I can see the reason why TV3 used some silly excuse to fire her from their network.

This woman in charge of Local gov't recruitment (Petra or something). She will never pick an Akan. I went there to check my results, i mean the last exam that the local gov't conducted at action school at Adenta. I was waiting outside, this woman was talking to an Ewe Man. They were mixing Ewe language and English. Getting to the latter part of their conversation, she told the man to go to publishing and buy a form so she can give him the appointment. The woman ask if the children are around so they can sign.
Meanwhile, there was a deadline for application and an exam to be taken.
Second, was a boy also an Ewe guy, i had a chat with him and he told me he was submitting his form to the Lady- Petra. So i wanted to go with him so i could also benefit that protocol but he denied me. Surprisingly, the woman accepted his application, and ask him to call her later for the appointment.
I went there and the way the woman received me, oooo My God, i was shocked.
The secretary is also an Ewe. When i came out from Petra's office, she encourage me to move on in life.
So, KEN, YOU ARE 100% RIGHT.

Akans are the most populous group in Ghana and are dis-proportionally represented in the government
You know its funny because when we (Africans) travel to the west we are not identified by tribes but by the colour of our skin. I think its sad to see where tribal politics is heading. I consider myself Ghanaian above any other thing. I bow my head in shame to see youthful Ghanaians indulging in such unproductive politics instead of finding other viable means of helping a country "our parents in both caucases are hemorrhaging with corruption and tribalism" My allegiance is primarily to Ghana and not to any tribe or who has the majority in either corrupt governments...can you say that about yourself?
stephen n well your approach may be non-confrontational but that doesn't negate the reality on the ground...in fact, it's normal for each tribe or person to strive to be in position of control. You can't neglect the disproportionately represented Akans in a government and think all is going to be well. I will like to see a united Ghana and world but I'm not naive to to see that discrimination is rampant. Every country has its own sociopolitical dynamics, and until Akans are fairly represented, there will continue to be tension. You can hope for a united Ghana but that's only a superficial dream.
This is not a matter of being non-confrontational but being progressive. Are you not a blackman? The root cause of what we have today is the sinister tribalism we've had in this country to the extent that belonging to a political party is not based on ideologies but by tribal affiliations...this goes out to both the npp whore are mainly akans and the ndc who are mainly ewes and people in the 3 northern regions with emphasis to mainly. I am not a political head but i get irked when one has to associate me with a political party based on my surname. Truth be told i am very disappointed in the current state of affairs in Ghana although disappointingly i didnt exercise my franchise in the last elections. As a moderate and a non akan i am thorn between voting for a party that is riddled with mismanagement and corruption and the other that appears to be tribalistic. Ghana deserves better than this. I deserve better than this. I pray this petty politics of akan misrepresentation is done away with so that we can focus on much presssing issues on how to salvage and build upon what we all call our home. I hope at the end of all this we as a nation are judged on the right side of history
stephen n nsiah It's about time Ghana has this tribal conversation. It's very necessary and shouldn't be swept under the rug. It's disingenuous on your part to assert NPP as tribalistic yet you fail to acknowledge that NDC is also at fault. If you want to progress then stop shifting the blame on NPP and own up to your own tribalistic tendencies...though u want to come off as neutral. Again Akans are disproportionately represented and until u seek to redress that, the tension would persist. How would you feel if you account for more than half of the economy and is shortchanged with under representation in the government? Tribalism is real and lives everywhere so if you think it's only a Ghanaian problem u are deceiving yourself.
I think you have totally missed the point. Regardless, there is nothing disingenuous about my statement. Its almost impossible to criticise constructively without being accused of turning a blind eye to the other. In my submission i laid it out there that the current government is corrupt and its a fact. As to whether a majority of people in the current government are not akans i cant attest to that because there is no verifiable data to approve or disprove who is akan/not. I base my submission purely on utterances by politicians. The fact that tribalism is real everywhere shouldnt be a mediocre excuse not to criticise it. I am currently not resident in Ghana but i have experience forms of tribalism both ways in Ghana and discrimination outside Ghana. Lets agree to disagree.and not play tit for tat politics about who started it first. I remember in past governments there had been other tribal majorities does that make those governments tribalistic? Are there laws on qouta representations? I believe the npp being the most influential and credible opposition party should focus on criticising the failures of this abysmal government rather than engaging in petty and unproductive arguments about tribal qoutas. My allegiance is to Ghana and not akan, ewe, ga, fanti or dagomba.
