I've been using this technique for the past year because Final Cut's lack of proper customisable captions is infuriating. All I want is to make a semi-transparent box behind my subtitles. It almost drove me to Resolve just because of that alone. These days I edit my videos in Final Cut then finish them in Resolve just for adding captions...
I find TH-cam doesn't quite align the timing of my .itt FCP subtitle file to the spoken words. So I upload a .txt into Captions and allow TH-cam to do the timing. It's much better and I then make any small corrections necessary. That's if you don't want to burn your subtitles in!
That’s one way of doing it . I believe I used CapCut to export an srt file from a video and import that srt file into fcp x . That way I skipped the green screen process
@@RCodyWanner no . If you want effects then yes you would take this route . Srt file is simply text . But you can change font in fcp x to whatever you have in your font book. But it won’t be as animated as the ones illustrated in this video
@@Serge1913 I have the Pro version. I can take a video and summarize the dialogue, extract questions, make bullet lists, extract stats, make a mind map, and on and on. Making captions is about 1% of what it can do.. Incredible if you have to do more than just edit.
This is the easiest way to do it if you want animated captions. I have MacWhisper but I use Capcut for auto caption. The thing with SRT file in FCP is that it's just text, and you have to manually animate every word in FCP.
@@ozedsal5581 But isn't the animation, color, font, formatting, etc, baked into the capcut version? How do you edit a caption in FCP once you import it?
@imaginetmedia do you have a video for all the things you say you do with Mac whisper? I have the program, and use it for transcripts, but I would love to use it for more!
Everything FinalCut can't do is a matter of course for Capcut. Users have to switch from FinalCut to Capcut because of small transciptions. Are you serious?🤣🤣
This is such a great workaround to getting auto captions in FCP! Thanks for sharing Serge 😄🙏🏼
Hi @Serge M
Thanks.
Do you know a way to fully automate this from FCPX to CC with a bot or something?
It could save so much time if possible.
Thanks.

That seemed pretty easy to do. Thanks for sharing this tip. I may try this......Take care, Bluefin.
Will FCP eventually have a built in auto caption ability
Is there a benefit bringing it back into FCPX, rather than just exporting straight out of CapCut?
great workaround, thanks!
I wonder if it is possible to create a macro using keyboard maestro? At least for some parts of the process.
Dude your a boss! thank you so much :)
Aww love this! This was the best tip until Capcut made it a Pro feature - now I'm working on another method!!😭
Can’t wait to see it. Love your channel BTW. Some great tips there!

does the SRT keep the same effects/style that you chose in capcut? or is it just importing the text, and then you modify within fcp?

@@NYsba328 love it! thanks for the response!
Wow awesome - thanks
I tried to export and it says to export captions you have to join the pro version
Excellent tool for captioning, can it also translate?
It can but at least for Korean it's very poor. It used to also be free but I think they made that feature paid a month or two ago.
Thanks Serge
Спасибо большое! Привет из России.
Best tattoo on your right arm! Слава Україні і дякую за топовий контент та уроки!
Muchas gracias. 👍
Not free anymore...
Crazy right 😬
Awesome

Why doesn't Apple add these and other features to the program?
Capcut, premiere, resolve have these functions for a long time!
Fcpx lost this battle.
I thought you were using CAPTIONATOR?
I was. CapCut is more accurate and has more options, so now I use CapCut
CapCut now requires the upgrade to the Pro version to auto-caption... NOT FREE!!!
I use MacWhisper. It is free and uses AI to generate transcriptions Just export from as .srt files. Could not be easier.
Never heard of it. I’ll have a look. Thanks!

Im the first comment yay!
You are!
Apple's Final Cut "Pro" in 2024 btw
None of what he said worked under the free account he claimed to have
It was free until the last update.
CapCut auto caption is no longer free
not free
You clickbaited like her too. Hilarious
I hate work arounds, what a piece of trash software FCP is
