Recently decided I want to take a chance at sharing things on TH-cam and wasn't sure on if I should purchase Screenflow or not. Watched this video and immediately decided to purchase, but also subscribed to your channel and got inspired. The pace and flow of this video is so good. Thank you!
Thanks for the video :) can you tell me how to highlight individual areas from the recording, i.e. mark and enlarge them or is this only possible via zoom?
I think you don't need to eyeball the round cropped talking head. There's logic in the numbers there. What I found that works is using this logic in calculating the exact values, that depend on the resolution of the original video-file. Corner Round is ½ of the Height of the videoresolution: 540 for a 1920×1080 video Cropping (L and R) is ½ of the difference between Height and Width of the resolution. So a 1920 × 1080 video would be cropped left and right for exactly 420 (or any combination of 840 combined). It's pixel perfect. Thanks for an insight of your workflow though! Learned a few nice tricks to speed things up!
Math?! Yikes! :) I think you're on to something though. The issue is my face isn't necessarily perfectly in the center or the frame, or I want it zoomed in a little. But you're totally right... I could just use math!
Hello Meredith, I don't think this exists, but when choosing your sources (Camera 1, Camera 2, Screen, etc.) for recording in Screenflow, do you know if there is anyway to save source presets? I sometime only want to record my voice and I am trying to lower my chances of forgetting to turn on the right sources for each recording session. And thank you for this video, I have learned a lot of new things here! I like the idea of adding my StreamDeck to the editing process!
What microphone are you using or do you currently recommend? I have the Rode podcaster but I've had issues with it picking up a lot of background noise including fans and keyboard clicks. I've looked at the Shure models, are they any better?
Hey Meredith. Really great video. What is the approximate ratio of the time you spend editing to the length of the video? eg 5:1 would mean 60 mins editing for a 12 min video. I’m sure it varies but what might an average be?

Hi. I've been enjoying your videos! If my goal is to screen record multiple choice practice exams (one question and 3 possible answers on screen at a time), while also recording my face reading and explaining the correct answers, do you think ScreenFlow or Descript would work best?
Just curious... have you ever had your audio waveform in ScreenFlow appear very small? Just upgraded to a new MacBook Pro and reloaded ScreenFlow. The audio sounds normal, but the audio waveform is tiny. My guess is ScreenFlow doesn't like the new Sonoma OS. Thoughts? Can't find a fix online. Thanks in advance for your help 🙂

Hi need help in screenflow exporting.. I did record 4KUltra ppt videos loss resolution while exporting in 1080p. Used ( 4KUltra record, manual, 50fps, 6000 datarate, multi-pass ), Could u please explain while I export my recording PPT even I record in 4KUltra, the recording is great but I found its slight blurry while exporting in 1080p size, when I export the same 4K file, the ppt is clear but as many courses hosting websites need 1080p video files, so the export is slight blurry, what’s the solution, please . Telestream don’t respond Mail, sad to say..
I encountered an issue which can't seem to solve. So audio waveforms go completely flat after making edits (could be a cut, could be applying a filter like synching the audio and video). There's only one solution on their official website but I've tried it and it doesn't work. :(
@@meredithmarsh is there something better than screenflow? I mean I use it cuz I now how to use it, but there are some features I would love to see that I don’t see yet.
@@miguelsandremusic I have been using Tella and just discovered screen studio. For recording and basic edits. They are no where near as robust as screenflow but that’s what I’ve been using.
Great teaching but this is absolutely the worst screen editor I ever used . I m. impressed that I actually paid for this. absolutely nothing is easy on this program.

Thanks! I’ve never measured. Some videos take 10 hours to edit especially an in dept screen recording. Some take 1 hour to edit.

Curious why. Why does my top bar of my computer not have the "video start" video...cannot figure that out.
