Hey Josh - thanks for this video - is a true 'Public Service' you sharing this knowledge - when it comes time for me to replace plugs in my SRT, it'll be a DIY for sure Here in Australia they probably charge something like AU$1000 to do the same service so I'll definitely be tackling this myself
Thanks for the video! I'm a little nervous specially about torque specs but this helped me feel better, hoping to tackle this soon. I can buy all 16 plugs for less than $150 (check advance auto parts coupon deals everyone, and rock auto) and dealership wants $550. I wish prices were more reasonable.
What year is this n what's the firing order from the front left to right I'm looking for number 4cylinder I thought was second one up from the left left 2,4,6,8 right 1,3,5,7 is that right bc I did if so what could it be
What type of plugs did you use; platinum, double platinum, iridium? There several different styles and price ranges and I would PREFER to go the best-bang-for-my-buck route. Thanks for any info and thanks for the video…
Have a 2012 jeep srt myself thing is a beauty, have 59xxx jeep drives totally normal and at idle it's fine, the problem I'm having is when I apply full throttle and rpms are above 4500 rpm + it has a small misfire, computer connected al local shop and no codes were found. Now my question is does the dealer has any computer that can diagnose this? What I don't want is start changing/replacing stuff that don't need to be, ( recently got the fuel pump relay recall done ) could this be the issue? Any replies will be much appreciated
I was going to ask the same thing. I have a 14 as well and am at 78k miles. I change the oil religiously, turned off MDS(although I hear that doesn't make a difference), and never let it idle too long(also heard mixed things). Those are the only methods I've heard of possibly preventing it, but I've heard so many horror stories that I'm sure one day I'll be doomed.
Frank Ionni yeah it’s a scary thing we should have to worry as car owners! I have a 14 as well and started getting a tick, before it gets any worse I will go ahead an upgrade the lifters to Hellcat lifters and mds delete cam. It’s going to cost about $4500 but better than paying double for a new engine plus labor! My 2014 SRT has 50k miles and the tick started around 40k miles. 🤦🏻♂️
@@JoshShare I strongly suggest looking into MMX They are very helpful and they answer any question immediately. I am currently upgrading my lifters, rods, springs, oil pump and cam through them. Their youtube channel is also very useful th-cam.com/users/ModernMuscleTuning
Dude... you're THE MAN when it comes to my 14 SRT... I've learned alot!... question... my headlight bounce when I go over bumps in the road... any suggestions on how to fix this?

Nice how-to. My 5.7L Jeep still rocking the original plugs at 180k miles!
That would make me nervous 😬
That’s one filthy engine compartment.
It’s my daily

550! That’s just ridiculous.
@@troypatillo1688 I was quoted $658+ tax.
Recommend getting those same NGK plugs at your local AAP. Recently paid $63.47 for all 16 after discount.
Appreciate the comment! I’ll look into it!
I do this for Honda/Acura timing belt kits. The OEM stuff is made by Aisin and then put in a Honda/Acura parts box. Saved a ton of money each time!
Keep doing these vids. I have a 14 SRT and these help build my knowledge base lol.
Love the videos, I’m about to be purchasing my Jeep here soon I am looking to get a 2012-2013 for my price range
You’ll love it! Thanks for the support 👍🏼
Nice vid, consider showing us parts numbers you're using - might be helpfull. For EU spec's many ppl recommend using iridium LTR6IX-11.
I’ll put it in the description
Josh Share so next vid oil catch can ? :)
My local Christian Brothers Auto want to charge me $1600 to do this job (including parts). I think I will do it myself, thank you for the video
Great video. I’m about to do this on mine. In addition I’m upgrading the coil packs bc I believe the oem packs are standard.
Hey! Did u upgraded them?
Looks super simple
That’s because it is!
Great video new subscriber binged watched all your SRT vids. Currently looking to get a 14 SRT.
Thanks for the support!
Getting famous during quarantine day 9
Haha I wish.. I’d love to do this fill time!
Josh Share same😂
After replacing spark plugs does the engine light go out on its own ? What gap do you use for plugs ? Thanks for sharing, great how to video!
Did u put that grease back on the new plugs brother

Hey, did u found it?
i have a cylinder 1 misfire on my art jeep how do i know which one is cylinder one?
Man you’re great!
Currently have a p219a and p219b code hoping the plugs help out
Did it help?
Yeah couple months later got an injector failure lol

The dealer or a local tuner should be able to get it figured out for ya 👍🏼
@@JoshShare Will do brother , thank you!
Another useful DIY video. Great Job Josh. Curious have you done any lifter upgrades? Since these engines are notorious for lifter/cam failure
It’s factory other than exhaust and an air filter. Have something coming in the mail next week 👍🏼

16 spark plugs dam my Honda only uses 4 hahah but the good thing there easy to get too
Hi Josh, did you ever manage to install the drive belt? I am experiencing the squealing too. Perhaps I missed the video.
I did but I was trying to film it by myself and it turned out bad so I didn’t upload it
@@JoshShare I really need those DIY steps man. email me a link to that bad one. lol
Aren’t they supposed to be gapped at 5.0 ?
The sticker under the hood will tell you 100%. They’re usually gapped from the factory. I haven’t had to adjust spark plug gap in 5+ years
Paid dealership to do mines. Cost $600. Wish I watched ths FIRST!🤦🏽♂️
It's sad that doing 16 plugs on this engine are easier than doing the 6 on a 3.6 Pentastar

How many miles did you have on it when you changed the plugs? I have 89k and I'm starting to notice a miss at idle.
I think I was around 90k. They’re due at 100k but I wanted to make the video and see if there was a noticeable difference
@@JoshShare Was there a noticable difference?
Was there a difference?
@@trehenny Big difference on mine. It was definitely causing the miss.
