Im having difficulty with T joint, when the welding rod come close at the joint, the arc strike to one side leaving a ball of red hot metal there. Pls help. Im learning welding on my own

These are different types of joints explained that can be welded with any process.

@@TotalWarChronicles You definitely do not want to weld over slag. Keep in mind you are going for penetration of the weld and it takes time to settle.

so corner joint need filler metal other than the electrode to fill the gap?? otherwise it will take much electrode. plus edge and but are alike?
