I have a Pete howlett legacy tenor, such a wonderful instrument. I'll always treasure it and hand it down to my children to cherish. Despite the adversity, pete's amongst the best builders in the world.
Alex, to answer your questions: nope at this point i am not a patreon - sorry ;-) ! I came across the teaser on FB, clicked on it and your vid became watchable. It was marked "not listed" though.
I finally finished the video. What a lovely chat with Pete. Thanks for doing these Alex. On a side note, I was really happy that Pete mentioned Juha Lottonen as a notable luthier. I've commissioned an ukulele from him and have talked with him a few times. I have to say he's even more of a storyteller than Pete if you can believe that. Seems to me like luthiers in the ukulele world get really chatty really easily. :D
Thanks for asking. It costs money to go on podcast distribution channels so I'm going to record series 1 (6 episodes) and then upload in one go. Won't be long... Maybe another month or two 😉
@@UkesWithAlex my friend used Anchor to put his podcasts for free. Since it is free there could be limitations but I thought I would mention it. I cannot vouch for whether the service is good or not.
I was recommended a few a while back and I think the time they stay up is limited... Really appreciate you offering a solution though. I will put them up in due course one way or another.
May I go out of topic for a bit Alex? :) I'm just curious for a brand known as harley benton, do you have a unit from them, or have you even heard of them? :) I heard that they also build great guitars and ukuleles ;)
Harley Benton are the house brand for Thomann. I think they do a great job with the guitars but a few customers have come in with the Ukes for set up work and they were awful. Of course, I could have just seen a bad 3-4 but to me Thomann have just taken models other people are making and badged them up and the QC on things like the binding and fretwork was quite poor.
I've enjoyed all your other podcasts a lot but this one was hard to watch. A bit hard to follow and like listening to a monologue. Also a bit more negative than your orders and a bit self agrandising at the same time...
Thanks Pete for what you do !
This was a wonderful interview with a living Legend. Keep up the great work Alex. 😊
Thanks, really fascinating podcast. I must add a Howlett Ukulele to my collection at some point, his workshop isn't that far from me.

Haha definitely.
Alex, how can I listen to your podcast as a podcast (outside of TH-cam) it isn’t in the Apple podcast app unless I missed it.
