Thank you for your video. I've enjoyed going through your back catalogue and watching your previous adventures. I particularly enjoyed this one as I'm fairly local and tread that patch quite regularly. I live in Deal so was delighted when you pointed out that the speck on the horizon was Deal Pier. It's something I'm always doing too. I look forward to all your upcoming trips and all I can advise is explore east Kent as much as you can!!

Thank you for watching, I haven't actually been Deal before, so would like to walk the coast along there

The "road with no traffic" which emerges from that tunnel is the access road for the now defunct Ramsgate ferry terminal. Mostly freight, but some cars as well. No foot passengers though. - We trudgers had to cross from Dover!

Just as a post script to the above: I've never used Thanet Parkway station. The Dover line to Ramsgate doesn't stop there only the Ramsgate via Canterbury does. Don't ask me why!!

      I didn't realise that, that's strange

Ramsgate is my local station, - only five minutes walk away - and although I don't use the Dover line much I think it passes to the south of Thanet Parkway. I'll have a proper look next time and get back to you. That might be fairly soon actually, because I need to do a grocery shop and there's a big Sainsbury right next to Deal station. (Any excuse for a train ride!)

Thanks for your comments. I come up from Deal to Thanet on the train a couple of times a week to see my mum and dad which obvs comes up the Dover line. It always passes through Thanet Parkway without stopping so I assumed that the station was only open at certain times. After a while, having passed through at virtually every time of day that the trains run and still not been on one that stopped I asked one of the conductors why the trains never stopped there. He said that only the trains coming up the Canterbury line stop there. I should have asked him why but for some reason didn't!! Hope Deal Sainsbury's was a pleasant experience 😊😊
