One of the reasons this will never be implemented is that given this is a free to play game, there has to be a need to force/motivate players to keep playing for months, or pay. Looking at a top tier vehicle and unconsciously saying to yourself that you want it is the exact thing gaijin wants, to keep you playing the game. Test driving top tier vehicles is the goal of many people and some don’t even care to grind after they reached their desired test drive vehicle. That’s why we probably won’t see it.
I love how the ZSU-37-2, Gepard, and Type 87 were better than the SIDAM 25, but the SIDAM 25 is still at 8.3 while those three are at 8.0 or 7.7 with search radar, better guns, better anti-tank, and better mobility. VEAK 40 and AMX-30 DCA are both also 8.3, despite being much better in every way. Q: Gaijin, why do you dislike Italy so much?

Speaking if AA on the fulda map custom battle we landed a heli near the helipad AAs range tanks could still go there and with that the AA hit the ground and created a trench that was very deep it was fun to drive around in the R3 T20 FA-HS
I'd argue that the difference performance wise is likely not a whole lot, however in real like it may have been slight avionics changes or slight aerodynamic changes, both of which we likely wont ever notice in game

It was already answer but its a simple answer, the log its use when the tank its stuck in mud or something similar, they put the log under the tracks so the tank has enough grip to get out of the stuck situation with the log

Gaijin said they plan to do custom load outs on every air vehicle (including helis) but first they are focusing in the top-tier stuff cuz yes
