  • Chuck Close is arguably one of the most famous early residents of SOHO. He arrived in 1967 and began a long art career. His loft on Greene St. became the birthplace of his early black and white portraits, which launched him to stardom alongside other art celebrities such as Richard Serra, Philip Glass, and Carl Andre.
This posting is a segment of a larger film planned by Paul Tschinkel who is still a resident of the historic community and who arrived in 1970 in what many then called a slum. Inspired by the film 'Midnight in Paris', this is a real life version of that film.
