Hope you are feeling better by now. I hate the flu, no matter how small!! I did not know that aphids were brought in by ants. Interesting tidbit. The plant is very showy, definitely make a beautiful hedge!! Thank you 😊

How close should I plant scarlet Firethorn seeds apart for a full hedge? I keep hearing different information on this.

It depends how quickly do you want the hedge to form. But at least 100 cm. They grow very fast, as you have seen in the video. My plant has 2. 5 years and it almost filled that portion of 1 meter!

@@TheLavenderFarmer then if it grows very fast then I should plant it further away so it doesn’t get overcrowded correct? I keep reading that these plants can get up to 8 feet wide so why do people plant them so close together is my question if they’re fast growing.

@@REDonFIRE because they want the hedge fuller faster. I would plant them 70-100 cm apart, you can just as well prune them when they are crowded! 😊

@@TheLavenderFarmer I don’t want to ever prune them. I want to plant them and let them go. It’s going to be a very long hedge.

@@REDonFIRE eventually you will prune them because they will go in all directions, you will have to give them the direction and the shame you want
