It is important to say how treacherous and manipulative Medusa was. In addition to her speech, which made it very obvious that she was trying to make them turn against each other, there is also the Garden Gnome Emporium - you see the evil and dangerous creatures on the outside, but her real victims (satyrs/people normal/etc) are hidden inside the place. She is very manipulative!

Each titles are book chapters, and the logic is Percy joking about the things happened in every chapter (plus, the author usually does that in a lot of his books)

I now want to imagine Lin Manuel Miranda as Hermes writing a musical about the gods with the help of Apollo (bc he would 100% help write and compose it if it means he gets the most parts) and then making the character of Hermes in the musical just be the same as the Epic the musical Hermes 🤣🤣🤣🤣 im dying

"I don't know how many seasons they can go with, I don't know .. 20 ?" hahahahahha there are 15 "chronological" book, 21 "in universe" books.
    For the chronological books :
Percy Jackson and the Olympians (PJO) : 5 books, this season is book 1.
Heroes of Olympus (HoO) : 5 books
Trials of Apollo (ToA): 5 books
In universe books (not direct continuation) :
The Kane Chronicles (KC) : 3 books
Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard (MC) : 3 books

Medusa's back story is quite tragic. She was seduced and raped by Poseidon in Athena's temple. She was a vestal virgin in Athena's temple. This is why Athena was upset but instead of punishing Poseidon she punished Medusa and blamed her so Athena turned her into this monster. She alluded to this when she said she was a survivor.

That's technically the Roman version of the myth. Not the Greek one. The original Greek one she was always a Gorgon... And then in some versions she was a priestess who fell in love with Poseidon... And then, the Roman one, she was sexually assaulted by him... The dude who wrote the Roman version of the myths really didn't like the gods very much and so painted a lot of them in a bad light. Though I do like that survivors of sexual assaults have claimed Medusa as a symbol in current day...that is nice and more power to them.... But yeah the Roman version of the myth is not really the "true" version of the story.... It was written by a dude who did NOT like the Greek gods.
Yeah it seems like the show is mixing the Roman version and the Greek version a little bit. They're having her fall in love with Poseidon and not have been SAed by him...but still be given the stone gaze as a "gift" and it was framed as a gift in the Roman version... Whereas in other forms of the myth it is framed as a punishment. So yeah it was definitely the Greek version in the book not the Roman one...but they're mixing the two versions in the show.

@@AnxietyRatthe book uses the same version. when Annabeth tells the story to Percy she says Medusa was “Poseidon’s girlfriend”, and she met him in Athena’s temple, so Athena turned her into a monster. she also says she turned her sisters into gorgon as well for helping Medusa into the temple. i’m not sure why people keep saying the show changed it.

Im a bit surprised that they didnt go ahead and just made Medusa say shes Aunt Em. Easier to manipulate people if they dont know who you are...
