It is harsh, I feel bad for Klay but he wasn't doing as well as we all would have liked him to be. If can go to any good team and just try to be great in a new role (just like Kevin Love took a reduced role and was good with his minutes) he can still have a valuable part of his career left. No more warriors, but still playing basketball and throwing balls in hoops from 3 in split seconds, which I still believe Klay will do more than enough times. As for having him on the Mavericks, for who is he an upgrade? Klay is not a great defender anymore, especially compared to these excellent defenders they have in addition to Kyrie and Luka. I much rather have a slightly less good threepoint shooter that can defend. The Mavs did gave up THJ, who already offered better defense than Klay has had over the last 2 seasons. Mavs have Grimes now, a tenacious defender that can guard multiple positions and certainly is solid enough from 3.

I think he should go to the Mavericks or the Magic. He is the perfect fit alongside Luka and Kyrie and exactly what they need. For the Magic, not only does he immensely help their shooting, he would bring a ton of veteran experience to pass down to their young core. That's always good to have on a rebuilding team. I think he is worth about $8-$12 million at this point. His age and his decline prevent me from going higher than that.
