    Hi nice to see a female farmer in Ja. Im do little back yard farming my self too. Ive planted broccoli and pack choi seeds in trays for 2 weeks now but they are not looking healthy. I used water for the first week, they grew slender very fast then droop over the next week. Then i used diluted root grower liquid but no better. What have i done wrong? Oh i kept them in at nights and out in the day time.

    • @SuziesJamaicavibz
      @SuziesJamaicavibz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much, young plants need a lot of sunlight and water to grow healthy and strong and they don’t get sunlight they will try to fast looking for sun hence the long legs and after a period of time they will drop , please share this video

    I want to buy a piece of land in treasure beach to build a house because north eastern st Elizabeth does not have water supply. In carisbrook people don't even have indoor plumbing nor flush toilets

    • @SuziesJamaicavibz
      @SuziesJamaicavibz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Treasure beach is a lovely place to build a house, hard to find empty lots for sale with great views though , the water situation in some part of st Elizabeth can be hard at times yes but most people build their own water supplies, like water tanks or even the same black tanker that I use on my farm

    Hey Suzie ! have some questions regarding growing both Califlower and Broccoli : 1 Can i grow them any time ? i wanna start in July . 2 where can i get seeds to buy? 3 how often do i fertilize ?

    • @SuziesJamaicavibz
      @SuziesJamaicavibz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      U can plant both crops any time of the year, seed are sold at any farm store and you fertilize twice , two weeks after transplanting into the ground and when it began to roll.

    Hi sue is garden bean and string beans tbe same.and how do you take care of end rot on watermelons.

    • @SuziesJamaicavibz
      @SuziesJamaicavibz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Elizabeth! Garden bean is a bean that you shell from the pod like red peas , it’s can be used in the same green or dried, string bean is more like a vegetable , it dnt have to be taken from the pod to be consumed. Whenever water melon begin to rod if it’s not near reaping stage it best to get rid of the rod section so it doesn’t spread, or spray it with a fungicide to treat the rest of the plant

    Is there a special reason why you alternated the sweet pepper with the cauliflower?

    • @SuziesJamaicavibz
      @SuziesJamaicavibz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is no special reason for planting the sweet peppers in the cauliflower, I do it to save on land space and cost of weeding and it also save time and money , most people that do organic farming will plant a small portion of hot hot peppers and thyme to keep bugs frm attacking the main plant

    how many acres is that and how much a normal person would need to start farm on a scale like that?

    • @SuziesJamaicavibz
      @SuziesJamaicavibz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks so much for watching . I can’t remember the specific acre of this particular farm but For a small farm you can start off with half acre or less , it all depends on what your going to plant and the spacing of the plant , also the different crop you wish to plan. My advice just start doesn’t matter the size of the land, start out with 2000 seeds and grow frm there.

    • @rawrealgaming2493

      @@SuziesJamaicavibz ok thank you and do I have to plan a specific crop or does it depends on the market I really wanna start farming but the land I my problem and finance part of it

    • @SuziesJamaicavibz
      @SuziesJamaicavibz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! Sometimes you can’t really watch the market, things might be selling this month by next month the price get extremely low and as you know most crops takes three months before they can be reap so within that time frame the price may differ. The land is a really big issue for must person who want to venture in farming
