They were basically a 321 but these fine units never really settled anywhere. I remember North West Trains using some on a service to Euston some years back.
Soi Buakhao it is! Shame the LU livery doesn’t stop graffiti though. When the D stocks were on their way out a few trains were hit really bad. They had to be thoroughly cleaned before being sent up north to VivaRail.
@@NoddyMaccy I liked the D stock, although not when they first came out and replaced the lovely old R & CO/CP stocks but they grew on me over the years. It's funny not to see one when i go on the District these days. I did however ride on two recently, over on the Bedford-Bletchley line. If you sit in the unpowered car you can hear the traction motors purring away but of course there's no PCM equipment powering them anymore, just the diesel engines. But that sound plus the same hiss as the brakes release isn't bad!
Well, 321's are also passed for 100mph as are the 319's and 317's of course! But yes, back in the day these were hellfire machines and great fun to ride on. I do have some film of them at work in the North West as well which i will get up at some point.
@@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus i think there is a photo going around which shows them clocking at 108mph. However im told by a contact on a rail tour in 1994 that they were clocked at 110mph and kept to time with stopping class 91s
@@DAVCOUGAR That sounds like the farewell NSE railtour, i was on that! A great day and a good thrash around on them. We all thought that was the end but BR re-instated by BR and sent to the Crewe/Manchester area so more rides were had!!! (plus more vid of course, a future upload or two...)
Do you know, i'd never spotted that before!!! I'm guessing it was a stock move to Ilford Car Sheds, the two outer end EMU's push-pulling the dead 3 car unit in the middle......
They had a quite charm about them. The 310s ran on the LTS in this period as their top speed was only 75mph as they had drum brakes on the axle where as the 312's had disc brakes and were allowed to run at 90mph. The LTS had quite low line speeds where the GE was 100!
Wow Wickford station 1992 amazing than, you for sharing looks different that time amazing
My pleasure..... I was there last week and noticed it had been rebuilt.
@@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus you mean before
Wow that's superb and I love the ECS of 3 unpowered Class 302 coaches sandwiched between two Class 310s with West Anglia branding.
Some sort of stock move, probably from East Ham Car Sheds to Ilford Car Sheds. The 302 must have been a total failure.
Just bingeing and found this, had no idea there was some footage from my local in one of these!
Nice to see the class 322 in its original livery (Stansted Express) before it headed up to Leeds/Doncaster where it remains today.

I've had the the pleasure to drive the 322's on the triangle and to Donny a few years ago.
Very nice footage, loved it
Thank you, a nice variety of EMU's. Funny to think now that the 321's are due for withdrawl soon.....
@@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus wait what!!!! NOOOOOO NOT THE 321
nice video - that is a real time document. :-) good old times
I have plenty more uploaded, check them out and enjoy!
I really do miss the red, white and blue BR livery!
Yes, it was very eye catching and certainly brightened up the railway!
Soi Buakhao Most definitely. I’m in the process of returning LU in a different role so will still see red, white and blue but it’s not the same lol
@@NoddyMaccy Still better than unpainted stock scared & defaced by graffeti though!

This all looks real nice great going
309s what a brilliant emu.... The best ever and the fastest!

Another excellent job.
Thank you.....there will be more!
2:10 3-coach unpowered (TC?) unit in the middle there? No pantograph on it.

323s must have appeared to be futuristic back then.
Possibly but there were 321's ! But still styled well and quite futuristic. And quite a good train to drive!
Lovely :)

Which looked best in their 60s blue livery
Funny how no private company has ever been able to design a livery that looks as good as the old Network South East one
I think the designers these days either want to assult our senses or insult them with total blandness! Oh, for a quality livery.........
@@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus That's why they made the InterCity livery stay
First great eastern blue green and white and grey also looked good in the 321s
Nice one Soi 321 442 is a LM unit
I think the double unit at Manor Park has an LM one leading as well!
Reminds me of the e231 series in japan
