@@Mvv1938 After rewatching recently, yeah, I noticed that too. There’s a lot of discrepancies with the movie, but I honestly can’t expect much with Hallmark movies from the early 2000s.

I liked this ending. Also for a TV movie it was very well done and you could get into every character and had enough time to get to know them. You knew who was who when the disaster started and that even better than in the original poseidon adventure. Also it was very long but in that time it never got boring.
You´re right, I like this way more than the 2006 remake, because this one is longer, more interesting, has better characters that you actually get to know etc ^^ it has not the best CGI, but considering it is a TV Production, it is very well done. A good movie doesn´t need good CGI. Also they filmed the capsizing scenes on the set, they actually turned them with all the stuff in them and stuntmen in them. Not like in the 2006 movie, where they used Greenscreens for most of the capsizing scenes. I also like the ship more than the Poseidon from 2006.

nope, it happens to every ship; even if it's capsized, EVERY ship goes right side up at the last second. I'm no physics expert, but that's what it does every time. Basically, the air HAS to escape somewhere and it's not going to be the hull, hence why the ship flips right side up the very moment it sinks.
Not saying this movie is bad at all, but they improved so much in just 1 year. The animation, the models, it improved so much just between the 2005 - 2006 movies!
the ship tilted rapidly, and when it was turned 19 degrees on its side, all the people and all the furniture moved (well, fell) to the lower side of the ship, pulling the lower side further down with their weight, which caused the ship to turn completely over.
I rather watch the Wolfgang Peterson version of Poseidon over this piece of trash! At least Peterson's version stuck to the fact that it was a wave that flipped the ship over!
well, Peterson´s film gave a shit about character depth. I´d rather watch this movie with actually good CGI for the budget it had and some interesting characters and scenes, than the 2006 one, in which you barely knew the characters, it was less interesting to watch and most of the capsizing scenes were made with greenscreens.

For a TV production, this was a pretty good movie. It´s way better than the version of 2006, only because the CGI is not that good, that doesn´t mean the movie is bad.

It's obvious that they are using one of the old virtual sailors. Just look at the water around the propellers, but I guess that's all they had in 2005

This movie is inaccurate. First the ship flipped cause of a bomb. No it would just sink on its side.
