I’ve had my 2013 RDX Tech since April of 2013 (5+ years) and the only issue I have had is premature brake rotor repair. I swapped out OEM brake rotors with high performance drilled and slotted brake rotors with ceramic pads and that made a huge difference in performance and wear. Otherwise, I just change the oil, the air filters, and trans fluid myself and have never had any issues. It’s been a awesome car and I will drive it until it falls apart which shouldn’t be anytime soon.
Similar story. Have the 2013 Tech. Did have an issue with the 4WD system that needed immediate attention apparently a couple years ago. Other than that, it’s a trooper.
As soon as my dad checked this car out at the Acura dealer, he was kicking himself for not waiting to buy his CR-V lol. Really well designed vehicle and I've been all over Acurazine watching and this car is selling so well to previous Acura owners and other people too! I love this engine also. Scoots to 60 in 6.2 seconds and sounds amazing on start up. We love it our Odyssey!
I hate that people are nitpicking about the older model RDX because I still have mine and I love it to death and the new one is good too but the old one was better and people should stop nitpicking about little things that's really not that important just make it a little bit better in the next year
Nicely done Sofyan! We still have our 2007 RDX, and plan to keep it a while, but after I took the 2013 for a ride last year I felt like you read my mind, lol. Such a better vehicle, and 99.91% won't miss SH-AWD. Unless I missed it though, was surprised you didn't mention Acura ditching the viable exhaust tips, my only gripe.
We weren't trying to make a big deal out of it, we were just pointing out which surfaces are hard and soft, doesn't mean its a bad thing when certain surfaces are hard touch
I own a ‘08 RDXw/tech... and I have been looking at the Lexus RX 450h & the TL(thanks to your video on the ‘13 TL.) I had NO intention of you ever getting another RDX until I saw this video. I will definitely add it to the list. Thank you. Keep up the good work!
This RDX version, which started in 2013, and has had minor tweaks each year is a awesome car, awesome value! Period! A more significant visual refresh for 2016 has even enhanced that fact! Also, the fools complaining about the gas mileage have apparently never driven this car. It gets close to 30 mpg on the highway and averages 23 in mixed driving. Also, it's a substantial car, and it's fast as heck! The majority of the comments below highlight the fact that you should keep your mouth shut unless you know what your talking about.
it may look cool and sure its less expensive, you cannot compare the two. Buyers in the market for a luxury SUV care about the name brand. You get more response if you tell your friends you bought a "luxury" name, you also get the better service at the dealership
We are just in a transition phase right now, we are trying to get our website up and running first. We personally have over 20 new videos to edit and upload but the website needs to go up first, hoping to get it done this week, thanks for your patience :)
I totally agree with you man. "Acura is just a Japanese Lincoln and doesn't stand out enough" .They need to make more fun to drive car , more luxury features and better looking cars.
I really like the interior and agree with the choice to switch to the 3.5l v6.. turbos are fun of course, but if I was buying a near luxury suv id like it to have a nice smooth power delivery,
Trust me, this will all change, we are just in a transitional phase right now. I have over 25 new videos to upload and edit but we are working to get the website up first. Hoping to get everything situated and fixed this month :) Thanks so much for your patience!
I really like this new RDX. I like what Honda has done recently. Period! If I had the money, I would buy this in the top trim in the exact color, then go buy a 2013 Accord Coupe 6-6 (V6 6MT) in either Black, White or that nice Vortex-like Blue they have. After I bought those two, I would buy another Acura, the ILX 6Mt and cut the rear doors off, weld it all up nicely and redo some sheet metal, call it a day! (Yeah right) But my point is, I like the New styles. They look luxurious and sporty
This Acura RDX is much better than the old one. I did like the old one but this one is much better. I like the convenience of the keyless entry and start, sometimes I forget where I put my keys at on my person but that would be much easier for me. By the way what is that device you have on the passenger seat and where did you get it from and how much. I now like the way Acura's and Honda's are going with there cars. Keep the reviews coming.
It has the typical noisy Honda A/C compressor. I think that at this price it should have full time AWD, air vents in the rear, and auto windows for all occupants. I do like the look though and the color combo look great. Given the choice I would go with the light colored interior and exterior. The dust shows less and it doesn't get as hot because lighter colors reflect heat better than dark ones.
Acura/Honda simply with this new design should have keep the previous model better handling suspension and SH-AWD with this V6 engine and true dual exhaust. I prefer the compact 325 h.p. Infiniti EX37/QX50 with the 19" rims, all-around safety cameras ,front/rear sonar parking sensors and I'll get a full window tint.
Is good to see you doing a review on a Acura/Honda product again, you look more at home in that type of vehicles, do you still work at the Ford dealer?
I like the redesign, but there's one gripe I have with all Acuras. I can excuse Honda for inconsistency w/their LED 3rd brake light (or LED taillights in general like the previous Accord vs. current generation). In other markets Honda is marketed as a premium brand so some models have it and some don't depending on which factory it's sourced from. When you're paying a premium for an Acura & don't get those small tech/safety things like an LED 3rd brake light, it cheapens the aesthetics a bit.
What an attractive SUV! The old one looked like a rat with a mouthful of food! Also thank god that old engine and 5 speed auto are now gone! I'm a huge Audi fan (I can only afford VW's LOL) but Acura is really catching my attention!
I've owned the first gen turbo model, and now this 2013 model. I enjoyed the old one more than the new. The 2013 is more upscale and luxurious, but the ride is just plain boring. Sure the old one had worse mileage and turbo lag, but it never felt as heavy and null while driving even straight not mentioning cornering. The 6 speed is much better but, I cannot stand how early it shifts from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. It would drive much better if 1st and 2nd gears were much taller like in the previous. This 2nd gen is decent, but if you are looking for a vehicle with character and sportiness, the older model or an entirely different vehicle would be better.
lol I have ALREADY seen some of these. In fact, I may ask this woman who lives down the street from me to check her's out. I am guessing she works for Acura, because I always see a new Acura in her driveway. Now she has a RDX.
I agree, my buddies 98 Ford Explorer has rear air vents, fan controls and full time AWD and Honda should be ashamed they still use those noisy high drain compressors/engine fans they used a decade ago. I think its a good car but Honda clearly cheaped out in areas.
This Acura RDX are incredible...its my dream car...one day i will buy an Acura RDX!!! If God want it...hiauiahi...Please Acura, give it to me!!!heheheh
Not really, we just bought an X3, it starts at $38k. To be fair, once we put a few options in it, we paid $45k. (it wasn't even loaded, still plenty of options we didn't get) ... and that's the 28, not the 35i. We looked at the new RDX too, and you get more options for the loaded $40k than, than the X3's $45k price.... but we just didn't like the looks of the new RDX as much, and the X3 drove better. The last RDX was better than this current one. (we actually were comign from an 07 RDX)
i sat in this at the ny auto show and dam what an improvement, I really curious to see how the new mdx turns out. This new rdx definitely stood out. But i think the new rdx/ilx is gonna help acura put out the new mdx/rlx/nsx quicker. WHAT DO YOU THINK!!!
To my eyes this is hondas best looking car ... i'd say it's also their best launch since the last civic and the new odyssey and it's well positioned pricewise. But i wish they had a better interior design than what's showing up on this and the ilx. It doesnt look bad it just doesnt say "expensive" like it should and adding chrome in the center console just cheapens it. Doesn't seem like it would be too hard to come up with something better.
theyve said that 'people dont care about the stereo and the shawd so we are taking it out if the next gen products'. look it up, acura talking about their new direction
this new generation RDX looks way nicer and more refined than the previous one, which just seemed like a poor man's MDX, at least based on the exterior design. The same thing can be said when comparing the First and Second generation BMW X3. These smaller luxury crossovers were just not appealing IMO until now with this new RDX and X3s. With those being updated and beefed up, the Infiniti EX looks like it's due for an update no later than 2013.
This is basically designed for more refresh add ons to make it more appealingto buyers in each coming years. Id like to see it best in its last model year.. But then a new better redesign comes.. what a car buying trend :(
Sure if you want the "brand effect" go with the Acura but even then Acuras don't really impress as much as a Lexus or the German "big three" image-wise. They're well-built car and pretty nice to drive but they lost it a couple years ago and I think they're slowly going back on track. If you ask me though, Acura is just a Japanese Lincoln and doesn't stand out enough.
I hope the K23 isnt completely disposed of. I hope the K23Turbo gets dropped into the TSX or the ILX. Something! It would be nice to have a Type-S TSX for it last production year since its being combined with the TL later on ans 'SE' trim wasn't to special. (TLX) Perhaps the TSX could get the cheaper AWD system and the K23Turbo or later down the line the ILX gets that same treatment. Old RDX was based of the civic platform so why can't the ILX (which is Civic!) have it?? lol. Just my rant.
How many miles does it have so far?
Brett Vogel thanks for the review. definitely interested in getting one used.
Similar story. Have the 2013 Tech. Did have an issue with the 4WD system that needed immediate attention apparently a couple years ago. Other than that, it’s a trooper.
Does the rotor give off a small grind noise?
Still going good?
Just bought one to replace my '07 Tech, and it is a huge improvement. This is my favorite review and I think I've seen them all. Nice job!
Thank you very much! We are very excited to show you guys some great cars coming out this summer and fall :)
8:23 who doesn’t love that growl of that j series v6
We agree, same thing with the ILX, exhaust on luxury cars should never be hidden
No rear AC vent because this is a car designed for single professionals who are still looking for a mate.
I wiped my own damn face after all that water left the exhaust 😂
Why did I feel the same way😂😂😂
Lotta gas was gone during the making of this video xD
The lack of rear seat vents is pretty inexcusable for me..even for the model year.
carloselrey36 I think that a later model year or with a refresh it got the rear air vents for this generation
I sit in the driver's seat so I'm okay with it. Screw the people in the back. Let them get their own Acuras.
@@mss627 😂😂
even a damn base model jeep cherokee has rear vents like what
Truth Time TV jeeps are some of the biggest rolling pos out there unreliable poorly made
Acura is good at taking the normal Honda vehicles and making them a lot more premium. This RDX is a good step up from the CR-V.
Absolutely Love Acura's...they're very under-rated in the Luxury Market IMO.
I really like the old model better. That K23A Turbo sounded so good! And I like the styling.
We weren't trying to make a big deal out of it, we were just pointing out which surfaces are hard and soft, doesn't mean its a bad thing when certain surfaces are hard touch
lol why thanks, I still work there, I eventually want to make 2theRedline my career though :)
6:33 The amount of liquid coming out of that exhaust! Hahaha.
What’d u end up choosing

I get happy when i see your channel name on my dash!

I'd like to say i am really enjoying the new videos. Love how you state your opinions! Keep up the good work! (oh the RDX is sweet too!) :D
btw ... you're doing some great reviews ... keep up the good work!
I
Just bought a 2018 base and I love it.
I’m gonna get a 2nd gen, anything is good look out for?
We are just in a transition phase right now, we are trying to get our website up and running first. We personally have over 20 new videos to edit and upload but the website needs to go up first, hoping to get it done this week, thanks for your patience :)
Your reviews are excellent - keep on keeping on!

2019 RDX is combination of both previous two models. That’s why the new one is perfect :)
I really like this new RDX. I like what Honda has done recently. Period! If I had the money, I would buy this in the top trim in the exact color, then go buy a 2013 Accord Coupe 6-6 (V6 6MT) in either Black, White or that nice Vortex-like Blue they have. I see the Lexus RX on the side but this is better. Love the new RDX! Didn't quite care for the angry bird styling of the last one.
Is it an option to get the SH-AWD? Or are you stuck with the crappy CRV like AWD?
The 2019 rdx has the sh awd again
It's high on our list of vehicles :)
Great review
This Acura RDX is much better than the old one. I did like the old one but this one is much better. Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it :)

Jakeman21642 oh come on my uncle drives one
Jakeman21642 the car that look like a rat the 2011 gen
SH-AWD gone too :)

not a problem! Deffinately worth the wait.
It does have perforated seats!!! And the NAV is not that bad! However I agree with you in everything else.
you are the Man!!! i like your vídeos thanks a lot...
nice car, definitely my fav in this class
My aunt has a 2013 Acura RDX and it is a nice car.
Nice vid man. These suv looks nice but in that price range i prefer a nice sport german suv like the audi Q5 or bmw X3 rather than a fancy bland crv.
Nice Review Of 2013 Acura RDX. 😀
lol I have ALREADY seen some of these. In fact, I may ask this woman who lives down the street from me to check her's out. I am guessing she works for Acura, because I always see a new Acura in her driveway. Now she has a RDX.
I'd love to see you do a review of the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport! I'm deciding between that and an Acura RDX. Any plans to review that soon?
I agree, my buddies 98 Ford Explorer has rear air vents, fan controls and full time AWD and Honda should be ashamed they still use those noisy high drain compressors/engine fans they used a decade ago. I think its a good car but Honda clearly cheaped out in areas.

Nope, it is not a touch screen, you control it from the knob
Any plans for a review on the TSX Sport Wagon?
i sat in this at the ny auto show and dam what an improvement, I really curious to see how the new mdx turns out. This new rdx definitely stood out. But i think the new rdx/ilx is gonna help acura put out the new mdx/rlx/nsx quicker. WHAT DO YOU THINK!!!
Just wondering if you could like go over the head unit a little of each car during a review to just give us an idea of how the tech works .
I subed, very good review
To my eyes this is hondas best looking car ... i'd say it's also their best launch since the last civic and the new odyssey and it's well positioned pricewise. can you do a review on the new 2013 civic coming out tomorrow?
theyve said that 'people dont care about the stereo and the shawd so we are taking it out if the next gen products'. look it up, acura talking about their new direction
This gen has a timing belt or timing chain?
My old 2001 TL has rear passenger ac/cooling vents .. I’m pretty sure my old 93 Legend did too. WTH?
I like the old RDX much better!!!
i saw this first in avengers so hot, loyal acura customer

Nice car and all but the new Santa Fe looks more interesting for the price. They both look very similar too.
Sure the Santa Fe got a nice price until you've driven an Acura you can't compare the two!
This is basically designed for more refresh add ons to make it more appealingto buyers in each coming years. Id like to see it best in its last model year.. But then a new better redesign comes.. what a car buying trend :(
damn that exhaust was full of water lol
Love it, just needs Yellow/Amber rear signals
Nice review, how is the ride when the vcm switches from 6 to 3 cylinders? I heard there were a bunch of related problems with vibrations
Thank You :)
no audio demo?
looks like its worth the money!
Timing chain or belt

yo chill with the jump cuts, giving me a headache
IKR😂
What’s faster RDX V6 or RAV4 V6?
RDX
Love the view of the dumpster right next to the car you're doing a review on. You guys are such pros.
Does it have a button to go 4x4
No, it will automatically engage AWD when the computer senses slippage.
Should gas come out like that ??
The car practically took a piss when he reved the engine
sounds soo good
the nav is touch right
yay a new video!
I wish you did drive by exterior shots. I know others agree. I won't stop till u do em
Good video
looks soo nice
I hope the K23 isnt completely disposed of. I hope the K23Turbo gets dropped into the TSX or the ILX. Something! the fuck shooting water out the exhaust pipe haha
if dual tip exhaust were on here it would like bad in the back Imo
How about the New honda Crv?
I did say "for the price" and yes Acuras are good but not THAT good.
Why they just hide the exhaust?
This thing needs a dual exhaust and it will look more agressive
ZDX ZDX ZDX NEXT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ♥
