  • From 1987, "Jim Is", written by Ray Charles ("The Other Ray Charles") and Larry Grossman, the opening multi-Muppet tribute from Jim Henson's induction into the Television Academy Hall of Fame. Edited from the fantastic induction itself, linked below via the freakishly awesome +Henson Rarities. CLICK ON SHOW MORE FOR INFO AND LINKS!
Try not to hurt yourself wrapping your head around how Jim is both performing and watching from the audience at the same time as the editing suggests. It's all Hollywood magic, kids! ;-)
During the song, Kermit introduces videotapes sent in by the Muppet family and they each add their own verse. In order: "The Muppet Show" cast in London, inside the Muppet Workshop in New York (look out for Alice Snuffleupagus' head going by, lol!), "Fraggle Rock" from here in Toronto, and, finally, the "Sesame Street" gang.
The Muppeteers emerge from behind the wall at the end of the number to take a bow: Jerry Nelson, Richard Hunt, Steve Whitmire, Kathy Mullen, Dave Goelz, and Kevin Clash.
