My family and I lived in Durham Woods at that time, I remember this day clearly. The sky was literally on fire; We are so glad to have survived.

My mom was a nursing student at one of the nearby hospitals when this happened and got called to assist. The incident commanders feared hundreds if not thousands of fatalities as a result of the multiple apartment buildings destroyed by fire and the blast.

I remember this. I lived in Woodbridge. Was in bed watching Letterman & heard the rumble. Listened to the police scanner all night. My window vibrated all night from this thing. Will never forget it. We had ash falling from the sky onto our cars. My husband lived in Edison & he thought someone broke in through the garage door the noise made the whole house vibrate. I would have stayed up to check it out but had to go to sleep had to be at work the next day. I do miss listening to the old police scanner, hearing this brought back memories, a lot of towns' frequencies are trunked nowadays.

Nobody remembers how bad this shit was. I could see it 20 miles away. I could see this from Somerville 10 or 20 miles away, thought we got nuked. The light of the explosion was wild.

I remember this night very clearly. It was like a gigantic blowtorch in the sky. I was a mile away.
