    This was a great video to watch! To me, craftsmanship is craftsmanship, the CNC machine does not have a mind of its own, it has to be programmed to realize a vision, just as work done by hand is realizing a vision, and that neck is beautiful! And I'm pleased to see you put in carbon fiber reinforcing rods, to me, they should be standard on all guitar necks, not just for a bass neck. Sometimes, even with a bigger chunk of wood, it's hard to get a truss rod adjustment right on a guitar neck. Keep up the great work!

    Interesting video, I feel that CNC is definitely the way forward, as is roasted Maple, multi-scale, headless necks. Let machines do the boring, repetitive operations, it frees the mind to improve and innovate.

    I'm about venture into the CNC world to do just this, make guitar neck and bodies. Weird thing is the song in the background. I'm in my music studio watching the video and I turn around and on my music stand is this song. Kind of cool I think.

    how do you make sure that when you flip it, or when you glue the fretboard, it stays in the same relative position?

    Very illustrative video, thank you. It's not so much a problem to buy a suitable CNC router and create 3D models, as it is to buy additional small machines: grinder, planer, drill, planer... and then have room for all that! This is a job I would like to do, but apart from the money for a great CNC, I can't afford the rest listed, and I wish I coul

    Which watts spindle force do you recommend for making electric guitar necks and bodies? 300W, 500W? Or niether them? Above 500w?

    I’m getting ready to cnc my own neck soon.
    I wonder if you could cut your truss rod channel, flip then cut back of neck, flip, glue on fretboard blank and then cut all of your inlays, fret slots, and radius as well as your headstock
    That way you wouldn’t have to worry about making a pocket in your table for your fretboard blank.
    Only problem you might have is the middle of the neck being unsupported during the fretboard cutting

      @feolender2938 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you use fusion 360 you can add tabs
      These tabs can be numerous and thick enough to support the neck.
      Always use the same size stock, and your zero position in the same place and you can flip the piece infinite times.
      When it is finished, cut the tabs

    Great work! How did you accommodate the fretboard excessive height when you flipped the blank over to route the neck profile? Do you have a “negative” board routed? Thanks!

    • @Dankma
      @Dankma 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct, I made a pocket for it. But the board has to be wide in order to have some material to support it self

    Isn't quarter-sawn + trussroad + carbon fibber overkill? I have a quarter-sawn maple neck and the part of the neck that's screw to the body won't move at all, and it gives me a reversed ski jump. Sometimes, a flat-sawn single-piece maple neck is good as long as it has enough material to avoid warping.
