I was just remembering how just 5 years ago we went to the tree lighting in Portland Oregon. It was so fun. We sang Christmas songs, got hot chocolate and candy canes, and never feared for our safety. Only 2 years later Portland was burning because of the crazy political environment. A guy on a bike started up w my young adult daughter and I in Manhattan. We ducted into the first shop and pretended to be shopping for a while. He did wait a bit outside so I was considering telling the young woman working by herself in the shop (thinking, oh no, have I brought trouble to her) before calling the cops (kinda wondering if they would actually come), but luckily after a while he did take off. We left, tried to play it cool but were both on high alert for a few blocks until we reached a more heavily populated few blocks then we felt we could drop our guard more only as we felt hidden by the crowds. I tell my daughters to never walk w both headphones on and if you have one in/on keep it low and always be aware of your surroundings. Also encouraged them to take self defense classes - every woman should take them - it’s amazing what you can do to protect yourself with your own body and knowledge. 💪🏽

That’s NYC culture. This type of thing happens every day. It’s only being talked about now because it happened to someone who’s semi famous.
@@pennytrue2741yes cause the marine who protected women on the subway is now being charged with manslaughter. NY laws protect criminals and punish heroes.
@@HonoriajoyThis happens to anyone, not just so called famous people.
@@johnnypr-nyc8851 yeah that’s what I just said 🤣
Why would a bystander help her? Daniel Penny is on trial for murder for trying to protect fellow passengers in a similar situation.
I read about this incident about 2 weeks ago and first thing that came to mind was why she doesn't have security. Her father is worth north of $400 million and she's walking around a crime ridden city with no security.
She is not famous. So why should she
@@davidc4408 Because her her father is worth a little more than $400 million.
@@louiehernandez1477 does not matter. Is not her money or her fame. 99.9% will not know her. Jer own networth is less than $5m
@@davidc4408 She most likely wears very expensive clothes, jewelry etc. Regardless if she's famous or not she's a target because. I wouldn't recognize her if I saw her walking around the streets but I would recognize she's wealthy by just looking at her. All I'm saying is her father can easily afford to get her personal security.
Born & Raised in NYC, The lawlessness and decline lately is a disgrace, people like DA Alvin Bragg have destroyed the safety of the city.
They care more about building their careers and doing the bidding of the special interests.
They certainly don’t care about the citizens, it’s appalling to see this level of corruption, time for a change.
Unfortunately incidents like this happen in large cities in the northeast. I definitely had some incidents with weirdos in my college and post college days in the city. Although I wasn’t followed for nearly as long. The worst was when some guy told me to get into his car.. 😮
We are living in Bizarro World when Rambo's Daughter is running for her life down a crowded sidewalk from a psycho. It should have been just the opposite. 😂
A lot of females in NY have been attacked by aggressive guys. It is so scay. She is so brave and I hope she recovers from the trauma of this psychotic perpetrator.
NY prosecutes bystanders who help.
Thats why you need security
The courts never keep predators locked up
Run in the bathroom and CALL 911 or the cops!!
He would easily have broken that door. And Imagine there is no cellphone signal in the bathroom?
This is legal in NYC
@@stephanie-fh5qv Of course, assuming he doesn’t know she’s in the bathroom…
No! She did the thing.
"Around 50 people next to me and no-one helped"
I'm Alvin Bragg and I approve this message.
No, I don’t understand it. Any grown man or woman who saw this should have intervened! This is one of the many things wrong with society now.
Firstly, I’m sorry for this incident. Walk ‘with’ someone, a guy/bodyguard/ your Dad!!!
What has the world come to if every day women now need BODYGUARDS to walk in a crowded street?? This is madness.
@@jgp1294 Yes, I agree, but I’m NOT referring to ‘any women’ in general.., but more to a ‘celebrity’ like her. Don’t walk alone.
@@jgp1294 every woman always used to walk with a man....what has the world came to that that isn’t the case?
@@jgp1294 Thats super sexist to even assume a woman needs a bodygaurd, Womana are more than capable of defending themselves and most are strong powerful independent woman.

I can just imagine what her father said she is so lucky 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Not just women. My buddy got harrassed in the Subway. New York will give your stalker a ticket and let him go.
I'm sorry this happened to you I'm glad you're okay from one of your biggest fans of your family
Where someone gets involved in NYC, they end up getting arrested.
Nobody on the street bothered to step in? I wouldn’t be able to ignore an incident like this
Didn’t Moranis and Buscemi get sucker punched in NY?
Its womens job to protect themselves
She's a strong woman who don't need no man
@@Mike34129damn I remembered that
well thats unfortunate you werent there, you should sign up to be her body gaurd.
WOW Thanks for sharing
Happens everyday in NYC. Too many rich sheltered people can’t cope with reality
People are WARPED.
Especially after the pandemic, this doesn't even surprise me that this happened. Sad
Wow that's scarey glad sistine is okay
do these women even have boyfriends?
Whoa that’s scary glad she’s ok ❤
I'm glad she's ok!
This happens everyday in NYC. Her tips don't really work, they will hit you from behind for no reason.
So.glad your ok
I’m glad she’s ok but nobody should be wearing headsets in nyc. Ive grown up in ny and just assumed this is common knowledge. Always be aware of your surroundings and what is happening around you. If you want to keep one ear bud off and the other on, do that. I’ve seen people with headphones walk into the street in front of moving cars, or not be aware of a biker heading straight towards them. Not to mention being mugged or attacked from behind. Just be aware.
Imagine Sly showing up with Expendables cast😂
Rambo needs to have a little talk with this guy
Yep
😢thank God she is ok. We need to get her dad rocky take care of him
New York has a brand
She should have called Rambo.
Its a scary story to hear, but as a men in todays age its difficult to even help or talk to a women. You don't know if its a prank video or OF promotion vidoe or social media video. And if you get involved you get punished for it eithet way.
Why aren’t they showing us a photo and info on the perpetrator?
That’s NY for you!…I’m not surprised and it’s too bad she went through that!…😢
OK - So what were the consequences? Did she press charges? Or was the guy released and is now still out there?
Thank 🔵 Open Borders
Thank open borders 🔵. Thank democrats 🔵. That's why I'm voting Republican 🔴. I want to see less blue 🔵, and more red 🔴.
LEAVE YOUR HEADPHONES IN, DON'T PLAY ANY AUDIO SO YOU ARE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS.
PRETEND TO BE ON A CALL IF SOMEONE CRAZY APPROACHES YOU.
I noticed from videos and stories that there could be 25,000 people around, nobody in NYC will do anything. They will keep doing their own thing as if you're not even there, and it does not matter what is happening.
Always be as aware of your surroundings as possible. And, walk as if you're ready to respond if someone were to try anything.
That goes for any city be aware and stop wearing headphones. You run into people , cars etc . Pay attention. This is too random .
please stop wearing ear buds, you are not aware of your surroundings rhat makes you a victim.
Get a body guard.
You can thank the politicians for this. The Good Samaritan gets prosecuted
Wait, so she left without talking to the police, or did i misunderstand what she meant?
I was just remembering how just 5 years ago we went to the tree lighting in Portland Oregon. It was so fun. We sang Christmas songs, got hot chocolate and candy canes, and never feared for our safety. Only 2 years later Portland was burning because of the crazy political environment. Defund the police etc. we would go to Seattle and Pike Street. None of these cities are safe anymore, San Francisco, New York, big tourist areas that I can’t feel safe in. Let your vote count for law and order.
You get people who run into a fire and people who run away from it. It's the same when someone who is in trouble. We are the type of people who run in and I'm so sorry this happened to you. Afterwards , when you reflect on what happened the fact no one helped you really affects you too. People suck!
you shouldnt assume she needs help thats super sexist.
Unfortunate situation and I am glad your safe !
More NYPD on the streets in uniform and under cover ? Good to see it did not have a really bad ending , NY sucks atm
How weird. She never once asked for help from strangers that were on the street.
Yes ! As she was running why she scream out that the guy on the bicycle is chasing me. They will knock
Him over. New York is a rough city but people will get you help. They all have cell phones. My parents along with eight brothers and sisters live there . I was told to stay away from the subway at night .
Hochul and Adams don’t care. Our city needs the avengers or justice league at this point.
That sounds so so scary. I'm glad she was OK. Never let your guard down.
NYC is a mess
This is aweful!
I will never understand people not doing anything!
If many people go together and someone calls the cops, this could have been stopped earlier! All over the world people need to protect eachother!
It’s NYC
It's a Democrat run city. If someone were to help, they would be arrested and charged, and the guy would be let go in an hour. That's why.
Um no thats super sexist to assume a woman needs help. Woman are strong powerful and independent.
