Are you sure that the leak happened when it was in the tank, because the end of the film would have been loaded first and the first photo last, also the repetition looks like it was in the take-up reel on the camera. So sometime after you unloaded the spool, the light leaked under the edge of the spool, as the first image is perfect. that is my penny's worth. great photos though.
I was thinking exactly that, I don't think its a light leak in the tank or camera, thats a loose bit of winding when the film is out of the camera I reckon
The way I GOT LOST in photography was losing interest in the darkroom vs collecting cameras. I have so many cameras I don’t even shoot anymore. So last week I decided to shoot just my 1947 Speed Graphic as my normal camera to get back into FILM 🎞 and Darkroom process. This channel, The Naked Photographer and Borut Peterlin woke me back up. Thanks 🙏
I left a tank lid outside once. Sat there for about half an hour trying to figure out what to do. Anyway took my trousers off, put the tank inside the trousers and wrapped it all up, followed by my shirt and jumper. I then had to leg it through the house in my boxers to go get the lid!
Fab video as usual. Full of humour, and humility. Not many TH-camrs would admit they'd done a bad image (or something they didn't like) - they'd just try and convince everyone it's good. Polishing a t... Well, you know. Glad to hear George is on the mend. Poor thing.
Getting lost is part of the fun! I always enjoy being out through nature to decompress, even if I don't always come away with a lot of winners on the roll.
You've given me some Cameron Park flashbacks. I got lost a time or three before learning my way around out there. That was over twenty years ago. Back then only a few trails were marked, and there were no online maps. It's been too long since I've been out there. Now that I'm getting back into film photography, I need to get back out there. With twenty miles of hiking/biking/bridal trails spread over 400 acres I ought to be able to find a few shots at least.
I can't believe you missed the shot of you falling on your knees and kissing the ground when you finally found your car! Fun videos and love the channel... cheers mate!
Great video entertainment! You're truly just enjoying the craft and taking us all along! What was the make on the rangefinder? Looks nice on the camera!
Where's Ray Mears when you need him! Poor George hope he mends , great video as usual. sometimes shooting close up can give you a more arty picture and captures the place and atmosphere more then a standard shot.........
i finally got round to trying that 35mm ROLLEI RETRO 400S you kindly sent me -- WOW ! it is CONTRASTY - as to be expected as designed for Aerial Photography where from the Sky the land below is soft in contrast . I tried my Home-Made FX-37 1+9 dilution for 13 mins - next strip will try my Home-Made 510-Pyro -- Keeping in The Warm as it is MINUS 2 outside and I don't want another stay in BASILDON HOSPITAL -- mind YOU -- their Chicken Tikka Masala is GREAT !
I have a 1956 AGFA Isolette III with 75mm f3.5 'Solinar' ! Lovely Jubbly gear ! I wish i knew how to 'Insert a Still Photo' in to a Video as you do -- you must have a good 'Software Thingy' to do it ! PS -- Ha Ha !! I'm 82 now and do not get 'Knackered ' walking up embankments !
@@ShootFilmLikeaBoss That's great thanks. I've just found an app on Android called 'auto distance' which I think if I'm right will do something similar to the ROWI rangefinder? Anyway much appreciate your reply.
Awesome content mate was gonna watch Netflix and instead opted for a couple of your videos - media dose done for my day :) Oh and by the way, since you like to go explore the unknown, maybe get yourself a proper trekking GPS. I used to do jungle exploration in Mexico and since phone coverage is not working deep in the woods,a real GPS will surely send you back to your car...as long as you log the coordinates of the car :D :D :D
Hope I don't offend but I loved the beach & other shots. The lady on the beach wants to be blown up & perhaps the ice cream truck as well. That one beach cliff shot looked great!
I've heard that if you make a double exposure in camera...... You half the first exposure and make up the rest of the time with the second exposure. Maybe... That rule applies for a darkroom print too?
Pretty much what I was trying to do. I'll have to spend more time experimenting. I imagine there are so many various ways, there goes another box of paper! 😩
@@ShootFilmLikeaBoss Can you tell me which is the best film for 35mm landscapes? Usually I print on 24x30cm paper. I would like the smallest and finest grain.

Cripes! You're right. That's the last frame on the inside! I think Mads is on the ball, loose winding on the spool at the start of loading. Thanks.
Yup, it happens sometimes when you're taking film out of camera, it's a bit loose and you squeeze it with fingers a bit too hard :/
@@perelandrauk I agree.

Great things. Thank you again. RS

It's on the blooper reel on the DVD. Lol. Cheers.
The phone booth is awesome!
Love that telephone box shot
Great story and a nice experiment with the double exposure
I loved the telephone booth pic. great shot. and that one of the jetty with the chair on it is nice as well. as always, another great video.
Love the depth of your videos! Great journey. Glad you didn't end up on a lost documentary.
Ha ha. Me too
Just got told about your channel by someone in my photo group, its my favorite now! Thanks for putting up so much great content, love this channel.
Cheers. Asasasasasasasasa lol
Getting fit and in shape with Roger.... :)
Poor old George, I hope he's recovering well bless him. Another interesting video, loved your prints!
Always enjoy you videos! Very entertaining! That seascape you shot with the Olympus I really like. That's the one I would print large and hang up.
I'm a year late to the party but it was fun watching you struggle trying to find a picture in the woods. I know how this feels all too well.
ha ha. I have a new phone now John!
Nicely done. Thanks.
Enjoyed the process. Love the 35mm images
I loved this video so much !!! Great job ! I laughed my ass off !!!
1. Excellent video!! Educational as always.
2. More George content!!
You made my day Roger! ahahahah ;) The best 30 minutes of entertainment in my day :D
Ha Ha. Thanks Gianni. I could have made it 90 minutes but had to cut the lost scenes down.
I liked the ice cream van.
Poor George, put a downer on the end of another amusing vlog. Give him an extra Scoobie snack from me!

What's the name of the rangefinder device on top of the zeis? Cheers.
It's called a ROWI Rangefinder.

I use the map my walk app when I go into a woods I am unfamiliar with, that way, I can backtrack and find my way out.

Did you try masking the top half of the image so that the double expo of the logs only added texture to the ground
It's an option Simon but I didn't. Good idea.
Love the honesty good video again but please get a phone with tracking on it. Haha
Got one now!

What is the largest print you can make in your darkroom

Roger Grylls..... Extreem mountaineering!! ;-)
Ha ha, if it wasn't for that dog walker I would still be in there
Poor George !
A week ago I developed a roll of Rollei 400 in the Atomal. This film has a grain like meteors. I would like to burn it on my fire stove.
Ouch!

Ha ha
I think those are bromide drags not light leaks.
AAWWW poor wee George :O(
Its time for you to upgrade your mobile phone or at least get a manual compass.... hahaha, beautiful pictures though.....
Haha, i did after this!
Take some breadcrumbs next time;)
Blair Witch Project :D
You said the same thing about it as I did.. Looks shit.. But then again, we're looking at it from a purist point of view.. LOL
I will send you a compass Roger so you can go get lost as much as you want.
women swimming in a storm?? wow. i KNEW that women were a bit crazy... ;)
I must admit I much prefer the older hp5 to the current emulsion. No idea why, I just dislike modern hp5
The older hp5 seemed to have a thicker film.
@@ShootFilmLikeaBoss always looks to me like a different looking grain
