I'm so envious you got that stunning Ralph Lauren sweater. Last year I moved to the Phillipines from Canada and had to give up my beautiful collection of Irish cable knit sweaters in rust, forest green, oatmeal, silver grey and plum. The only thing i miss about cold weather. That and my collection of leather boots. On the bright side!...... now i get to wear ALL my linen and hemp clothes ALL year round instead of crammed into 2, maybe 3 months. I traded in the wool sweaters for beautiful linen yarn i buy from Korea in the most beautiful natural shades. Knitting my own now.
Oh I love a good Irish cable knit sweater!!! Thats great you traded them in for things you'll need in your new place, I would have a tough time. But linen and hemp year around is hard to beat! Wish I had the patience to learn to knit!
WOW! Girl!; when you found that Ralph Lauren luxe cabled sweater, my eyes popped 😲😲😲. The luck. As a knitter, I know you were so lucky to find one that's practically brand new and not knicked or damaged. Great fit and find.
@@ModishFae Just a suggestion; research some of the knitting channels or seamstress channels and watch wear they go thrifting ( I have, it's so fun). You're on the right path, just always check for stains or ripped or loosened stiches (make sure it's something you think you can mend or stitch up to prevent unraveling). Also, while higher end knits just feel better. Always focus on the quality/wear/price-some fibers are just too scratchy(don't get that).
What online places do you thrift from? I live in a small town and the only place i could go to is the goodwill lol and its hardly anything cute in there lol
@@Shaywood4 So many! Threadup is a good one for variety, Depop is good for vintage clothes and unique finds, Poshmark is good for more name brand items, Mercari has lower shipping then the others but also another good place to buy things secondhand! Hope this helps and happy thrifting! :)
