I have never duck hunted that much, maybe 3 times in my life, but I have always heard that the worst kind of weather, for a duck hunter, is the best weather for ducks! I'm 70yo., and my first hunting at around 10yo. was dove hunting. My father, and I hunted dove so much that we use to reload our own shotgun shells. OMG, what a great part of my life, and most memorable. I do love watching you guys go duck hunting. I guess identifying the flying ducks are so amazing too me! But, I suppose if you hunt them enough you learn the identifying characteristics at a glance. Hope you, and the family had a great Holiday Season, and love your channel. Be Safe, and God Bless all of you!
we’ve been having a good year with teal and spoonies at our place but i’ve always wanted to do a layout hunt like this for some divers just need a boat to get where we need to be
Man, it feels like I've learned more about hunting Dosgris from your videos than I have while actually out hunting for divers myself. And like I said the last time I commented, I can't believe people frown upon eating them. More for us, I guess.
I just listened to a podcast with a WI state DNR representative and he claimed the bluebill limit would be raised to 3 per day if the population surpassed 4 million. He was optimistic that would happen when the 2022 count was up to 3.65M but it dropped slightly this year to 3.52M. He expressed that they believe hunters aren't affecting the bluebill population but they are obligated to follow the current agreed upon frameworks and would need further investment of time and resources to alter those frameworks.
great video! you don't have to kill a full limit to have a good day. how did you attach the brush to your blind? And I assume that you used vegetation from the area?
I suspect we will see more of this type of duck hunting. Always wanted to try this type of hunting out pass Atchafalaya/Wax Deltas out near where the Gulf meets the bays in about 10ft of water. Ducks and geese raft up by the thousands out there when the wind is calm.
After watching a bunch of your videos, this one make me feel better about missing. I am usually pretty good but missing seems to come in spells. I don’t see that phenomenon in your videos tho. :)

Man it's tough to set all that gear out for 2 birds, the first couple weeks of our season in Michigan we can only kill 1 a piece!
Same here bud, I wish they’d up the limits lol

Yes we just went to the bank and grabbed some loose stuff

Nice hunt on a nasty day. At least it was worth the effort.

It happens to all of us. I’m not the best at shooting divers. I tend to lead them too much.
Going by all your vids I’ve seen, you are doing great. Thanks for taking us along.
Let make a diver hunt nate. Full of divers be on them lately and they are non stop.
