I didn’t even realize how synergistic Release the Gremlins was in this deck! I’ve been trying the zombies that replace themselves when they die (in addition to token makers) instead of instants and sorceries that give you 2/2’s and they’ve been working out good. Copying only the first spell each turn makes it so you don’t need a thousand creatures on the board at once. I took apart my Kess deck to make Anhelo, so it probably doesn’t resemble this precon at all, but I used big burn or drain spells as a win condition, and copy creature spells, especially a kicked Rite of Replication (that would get copied with Casualty) targeting something like Kokusho or Syr Konrad with dies triggers working with the legend rule. I also target Atsushi or Dockside Extortionist, anything that would give you a ton of treasures to power the burn/drain spells. I know at least half of that isn’t budget friendly, but even just copying Mana Geyser (only about $2) with Casualty is insane, and makes it easier to cast a winning burn spell and leave mana open for counterspells to protect it.
Pretty sure that Casualty and Malicious Affliction don't work that well together. Sure the casualty can trigger the Morbid, but its Morbid ability is a cast trigger and creates a copy. As MA resolves all it says is "destroy target nonblack creature", so the Casualty only doubles that one effect. The net effect of this whole thing is that you sacrifice a creature and kill 3 things instead of 4 (which was insinuated in the video). Still decent removal but just wanted to clarify the interaction.
@@NitpickingNerds did you skim over half of sinister concierge? I cannot figure out why anyone would cut it. I pay 2 copy a spell then suspend 3. Then I suspend enemy Krenko or Atraxa etc meaning either their commander is out for 3 turns or dies and has more commander tax. I literally don’t care if my wizard never comes back from if he just exiled himself forever that seems fantastic. If dualcaster mage cost 2 and murdered an opposing commander it would be absurd.
I think the "first spell only" part of anhelo should make you lean towards playing more big splashy spells rather than having your deck filled with good and efficient 2 or 3 mana ones. On the later turns i think you'd rather use your casualty copy on a big impact spell rather than finding your hand filled with low mana cost instants and sorceries
I think that you have a good point here, I am going to build it and I plan to have small instants at 1,2 and 3 mana for the most part and for sorceries I want them big and splashy ( and extra trun spells) .
@@karimgrygiel5267 you should also add some game enders like Torment of Hailfire in addition to your extra turn spells. Though I think that card is around $15 so if you’re actually sticking to the $50 budget that might not be an option.
I think Beezy is operating with tier 2 thinking, but if Joe Cherries could go a touch more in depth about why all of the cards he says are "bad" and "not good" are so, it would be helpful! There is so much more meat on the bone regarding the teaching opportunities you have available. Teach us, Nerds! Stay humble.
I would totally drive out to Pittsburgh if I had a day off anytime soon aside from today. Try Fat Heads Brewery while you're out there. GREAT sandwhiches (headwhich)!!
If we're going a bit more expensive i like adventures along side kess and maestros ascendancy/underworld breach/etc. Cast the adventyre, cast the creature from exile, sacrifice the ceeature to casualty another adventure, recast the adventure from graveyard, recast the creature from exile, etc. Means you can get 9 passable spells that are also creatures in you spells deck. I think you are undervaluing the targetted spell steal effects as well, if you are in a budget deck having some of those effects is incredibly powerful when you are playing up into other peoples decks when they have stronger cards, especially if they eat a counterspell.
I think Galvanic Iteration and Teach by Example are underrated pickups for this one. 2 mana to copy your next spell, Casualty it to copy the next spell twice, then follow up with a Torment of Hailfire or Exsanguinate for your remaining mana could be a really quick game-ender without needing a ton of mana. You could also use it to triple up on a mana ritual (Cabal Ritual, Seething Song) to get a ton to spend on a splashy finisher.
I haven't been that excited for these decks. Your upgrade and the things you are doing make this deck interesting. Maybe I will just buy the commander and build it from scratch starting with your thirty adds. 😜
Bought this deck when it came out. Just cracked it open this past weekend, and Hex was a big reason I lost the game I was playing. I was behind on board, but there weren't enough targets to cast it. So I had to sit there and die to creatures while holding (shitty) removal in hand.
From under the floorboards cant be cast for its madness cost if you discarded it as a result of another instant or sorcery you cast since you can only copy the 1st every turn.
Release the grimlins 🤔 if you target an artifact that is sacrificed/destroyed in response, does the spell fizzle? Solid upgrades gents 👌🏼 looks like a fun deck.
Nope, because other cards would specify. like destroy X creatures. create tokens equal to the number destroyed etc. release the gremlins just say create X tokens
Hello I am not looking to buy the precon I'm looking to build the deck in fact if anything is valuable and that pre-con it is the mana and Mana rocks the rest I'm going to have a bonfire with flashback is the way the deck should work
Just want to note, body count doesn't specific non-token, the cards very good. I still think its correct to cut it from this deck, because you're only sacing 1 a turn, but the cards really good imo
gotta argue against your assessment of River's rebuke, or as it has become know in my play group, the Gentleman's Cyclonic Rift. When you need to take out 1 player that has become the arch-enemy, Rebuke is tailored made for that, and to copy it, makes it, almost as bad a cy Rift...ALMOST....the only drawback really is the sorcery speed.
I have decent success with Crackle with Power. Its better than Jayas immolating grasp, let's say you dump 11 mana into both spells. One let's you do 9 damage to 3 targets (jayas) the other 15 damage to 3 targets (grasp).
No love for Consuming Aberration today? That's ok, I forgive you. It started in my mind as a joke, but the more I think about it, CA could be bonkers with this commander in a wheels deck.
I put Octavia in mine to juice up the excess Zombies and other tokens that are always laying around. THose two are a MATCH MADE IN HELL. There will probably be a crime doc about it someday...
Crackle With Power is THE best finisher on every spellslinger deck 😁 26 mana is 40 damage on every opponent. Because of Casuality, you need only 14 mana. That's ridiculously easy with Mana Geyser / Brass Bounty EDIT: Just realize that CWP is now 10 dolars haha sorry
Honestly is it just me or do a lot of these precons feel way more cobbled together than before? The card choices for a lot of these just don't jive with me at all, and especially with how much they're asking for them now, IDK if it's just me or if these don't feel worth at all
I finally started using midfield. They have a button to print proxies of the entire deck! I feel that feature should get more attention.
autocorrect?
It is a damn cool feature!!

After reading up on it it appears you are correct! Thanks for letting us know.

@@Grand_Admiral_Thrawn2630 That's a great idea and since I am lucky enough to have one I will include it, thx for the advice .
Body count actually does draw cards for nontoken creatures as well
It's good actually but there are better ways, synergistically speaking.
I think Beezy is operating with tier 2 thinking, but if Joe Cherries could go a touch more in depth about why all of the cards he says are "bad" and "not good" are so, it would be helpful! There is so much more meat on the bone regarding the teaching opportunities you have available.

It's taking awhile for me to get used to it but I like the new format.
A great Evolution for the channel I really appreciate you.

I missed dragon fodder/krenkos command And hordeling outburst
I am more a fan of flavor fit cards :3
But it is always interesting what u can do more for precons
could you do the upgrades for $50, then $100, and then no budget?

There is also the infamous copying your copy spell combo infinite times giving you unlimited mana or creatures or damage with commander plus 2 cards.
I was kind of sleeping on this deck but after seeing what you guys did with it I really wanna try it out!
I haven't been that excited for these decks. Your upgrade and the things you are doing make this deck interesting.

Finally a deck for Grave Titan. Right?
So cool you guys are coming to pittsburgh this weekend! Unfortunately im moving out Friday and won't be back until June since exams just ended ://
White removal is divine
This deck's removal is bovine
I’ve waited nearly a year to get that birthday shoutout! Happy bday to all my birthday twins!
Bought this deck when it came out. Just cracked it open this past weekend, and Hex was a big reason I lost the game I was playing. I was behind on board, but there weren't enough targets to cast it. So I had to sit there and die to creatures while holding (shitty) removal in hand.
Welcome to pittsburgh men. Happy to have you in my beautiful city
Considering changing my kalamax deck to Anhelo, seems similar enough with more board presence.
Dudes! You messed up the link to the list! It shows the upgraded Obscura deck!
Would adding Maestros Ascendancy be a good add also?
Is this finally a deck where Grave Titan isn't a completely bad card?
Lazotep plating seems like a really good one for me. Protects your bord from targeted removal and makes another 2/2
Excited for this deck ^.^
NEW NITPICKING NERDS VIDEO
Alright you had me at sharknado
It's amazing that you guys took out all of those creatures lol but you guys did upgrade it nicely
From under the floorboards cant be cast for its madness cost if you discarded it as a result of another instant or sorcery you cast since you can only copy the 1st every turn.
exsanguinate or ToH?
Does someone have a list of just the cards that came out
uh, doesn't shark typhoon cost twice as much as bloodghast?
When I’m upgrading a deck, the first thing I look to cut are Sorcery’s.
Tokens was your main focus. How come Talrand, Sky Summoner was not included?
Did you watch the video?
Why did u leave clone legion in? It doesn't really do a whole lot
You get double the best board
Wouldn't Malicious Affliction kill 3 things and not 4?
This deck really needs a Field of the Dead lmao
Like more than anything!
Hey! Thanks for the birthday wishes. *finger guns*
you get three total copies of Malicious Affliction when you Casualty it, not four
the Casualty copy wasn't cast
Hello I am not looking to buy the precon I'm looking to build the deck in fact if anything is valuable and that pre-con it is the mana and Mana rocks the rest I'm going to have a bonfire with flashback is the way the deck should work
All those tokens are simply casualties of the endgame. One which I will close out!!!!
Just want to note, body count doesn't specific non-token, the cards very good. I still think its correct to cut it from this deck, because you're only sacing 1 a turn, but the cards really good imo

Grixis upgrade on my bday? Must be providence.
Body Count works on tokens...
I have decent success with Crackle with Power. Its better than Jayas immolating grasp, let's say you dump 11 mana into both spells. One let's you do 9 damage to 3 targets (jayas) the other 15 damage to 3 targets (grasp).
Also, they aren't budget but grave pact and dictate of erebos are so good with this pile
I was gonna make a generic comment then they called me out for sitting in my chair waiting on the next video...
I mean how did they know lol
Sweet

Like, I took out wayfarer's bauble and put Octavia from your deck. It's otherwise identical. The lands aren't terrible.
I'd love to see someone go voltron with this commander. Imagine that losing player falling to this commanders damage. XD
Seems like a strange build
How would the approach of the second sun work with this commander? I know it wouldn't be able to be in the deck, I'm just curious.
You can't win off of it, I believe the win condition is casting it from hand on the second cast.
Honestly is it just me or do a lot of these precons feel way more cobbled together than before? The card choices for a lot of these just don't jive with me at all, and especially with how much they're asking for them now, IDK if it's just me or if these don't feel worth at all
No Talrand? Seems like that would be the most obvious inclusion here.
the average of d12 is 6.5, of 2 d12 is 13.
I'm not feeling the sneak attack ad in the middle of the videos lately. That's just me though.
Malicious Affliction will only hit 3 targets with Casualty, not 4
This is going to be a massacre
I feel like Cruel Ultimatum would be a fun spell to copy. I mean, not for that one opponent.
You can do it to two opponents 😈
Torment of Hailfire and Exsanguinate (mean cards) would be bonkers in this deck.
Body count is all creatures that died. Not non token
can you next time not forget my plants that had a birthday.
That one token removal card is good up against coma but honestly nobody really plays koma
Could try and do $40 upgrades so that the total is 100? (If the price of the precon is 60)
Add a 10$ land to their upgrades lol
Hi

I disagree Xander’s pack is amazing
