I really hope that rice cooled and combined with the sushi seasoning well since you didn't really seem to be stirring it, just...stabbing at it with the spatula. If you didn't gather, when you mix the rice with the sushi, you stir it in with a slashing motion, so as to not break the grains. (But hey if stabbing at it somehow worked, seems like great stress relief.)

The liquid used to flavour the rice is a specially made sushi vinegar seasoned with salt, sugar and possibly a bit of MSG too. Stores selling Asian produce usually have them in stock.
I think I took cracking a 'Cold One' open too literally when I was little. My DS got dis(DS) located from each half when I dropped it one too many times. ;-)

The mysterious liquid added to the rice is called dashi. Either that or kombu dashi. It's a stock made with either bonito flakes, kombu, or both. Super easy to make and adds a great flavor to the rice.
usually when we make temakizushi we use half sheet of nori! you can just cut regular nori in half :) and the liquid is premade seasoned sushi vinegar! so it usually has rice vinegar, sugar, and salt, but it's totally up to you. you could also do it korean kimbap-style and mix rice with sesame oil and salt and fill with whatever you want! (tonkatsu slices, egg, spam, etc)
I love cooking mama so much. The first game I had was at y8 where it's the turkey one... I was like 7 or 8 years old when I play it 😂😭 I'm 18 now lmao, still the best game I've ever played
