Paul wasn't sure. Today, however, through the scientific evidence, we _are_ sure. The reference in verse two, "such an one *CAUGHT UP* to the third heaven," is regarding the state of "dreams," "visions" and "trance" states - it is an "internal" experience. "ALL" the dreams and visions recorded in the Bible are "internal" experiences - Abraham, Joseph, Jacob, Ezekiel, Daniel, Joseph and Mary, John… But some will bring up 1 Thessalonians 4:17, "Then we which are alive and remain shall be *CAUGHT UP* together with them in the clouds, to meet the LORD in the air: and so shall we ever be with the LORD." Clearly a contradiction to Paul's *CAUGHT UP* in 2 Corinthians 12:1-2 which is referring to "visions and revelations." So… what do we make of this? Revelation 22:18-19 states, "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." Therefore, should we really believe that corrupt individuals living in the first century didn't tamper with and alter the writings of the first Christians? Or, perhaps ancient people were mistaken in their interpretation of their "spiritual" experience!? We must also consider the fact that symbolism plays an important role throughout the Bible! - the anthropomorphization of God? The true significance of Heaven? Hell? Angels and devils? The evidence is right before our eyes with the *CAUGHT UP* contradiction of 2 Corinthians 12:2,4 and 1 Thessalonians 4:17. The warning of Revelation 22:18-19 would in no way frighten and prevent first century corrupt individuals from distorting the true message of the Bible, nor does the warning frighten, or prevent those responsible today who would rather the "delusion" of being *"CAUGHT UP* together with them in the clouds, to meet the LORD in the air," remain intact. Either way… whether intentional, or a mistaken interpretation of nature. Or, whether biblically tampered with, or wrongly interpreted, what I disclose is undeniable - the *RAPTURE* is about *VISIONS AND REVELATIONS,* not about being *CAUGHT UP* together with them in the *CLOUDS* to *MEET THE LORD IN THE AIR.* Although… what those *VISIONS AND REVELATIONS* about the rapture imply is a different matter altogether. "But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the *Mystery of God* should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets" [Revelation 10:7 KJV] [Emphasis Mine]. Note: the "seventh angel" holding "the little book in his hand is Messiah today - Read Revelation chapter 10 from the top and compare with Revelation chapter 5. The purpose of the rapture is in revealing the *"Mystery of God"* - the symbolism of the "little book" in the angel's hand and the "book written within and on the backside sealed with seven seals" represents the *Mystery of God* which will be revealed in what we call "the rapture."

You're right! It's a spacecraft. What civilizations said about the gods was that they are "cloud people" or "sky people", meaning coming from the cloud. The Bible has enough references to flying crafts. This is a must see of anyone visiting Jerusalem! I was there with my family last week. A perfect place to retreat to during a hot summer day as it's very nice and cool underground! Bring plenty of water and hats with you if visiting in the summer. There is very little shade and no cold drinks for purchase around the Western Wall grounds.

I’m somewhat confused... I watched a Jewish archaeologist who said the western wall is actually not part of the temple, but part of the Roman fort. They are excavating another site, they believe was the actual location of the temple.
Just one of several theories. They found a trumpet stone written in Hebrew near the southwestern corner of the Temple mount. This proves the temple was somewhere on the mount.
@aTm You're referring to Acts 21. That could be referring to the soldiers up on the colonnades. There were 2 colonnades connected to the Temple patrolled by soldiers who would descend stairs to arrest troublemakers.

Webster's Ninth Collegiate Dictionary defines the terms *Rapture* and
*Mystical:*
Rapture; A mystical experience in which the spirit is exalted to a knowledge of divine things.
Mystical; Having spiritual meaning or reality that is neither apparent to the senses nor obvious to the intelligence.
In layman's terms, the Rapture (Netchatef in Hebrew - Harpazo in Greek - Rapturo in Latin) is an experience "having spiritual meaning or reality that is neither apparent to the senses nor obvious to the intelligence" - the "five senses" (sight, smell, taste, hearing, and touch) do not perceive it, nor is it "obvious to the intelligence" since it has not been taught nor learned.
Hence, how does one have this "mystical experience" to be "exalted to a knowledge of divine things?" Obviously, through the "sixth sense" - the imagination.

Paul states, "It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to *VISIONS AND REVELATIONS of the Lord.*
I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one *CAUGHT UP* to the third heaven.
And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
How that he was *CAUGHT UP* into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter" [2 Corinthians 12:1-4 KJV] [Emphasis Mine].
In the first verse of 2 Corinthians 12, Paul clearly states, "I will come to *VISIONS AND REVELATIONS* of the Lord." Here, he is telling us that he will be discussing the topic of visions and revelations. In the second verse, he states, "…whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth…"
Clearly, Paul didn't know whether the *VISIONS AND REVELATIONS* he had 14 years earlier were "in the body or out of the body." He said: "God knoweth…."
Therefore, it would seem obvious the rapture is not about going anywhere "in the clouds," but rather, about "visions and revelations."
Today, through research in brain science we know that these "visions and revelations" occur in the mind - Paul did say, "whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth."
Paul wasn't sure. Today, however, through the scientific evidence, we _are_ sure.
The reference in verse two, "such an one *CAUGHT UP* to the third heaven," is regarding the state of "dreams," "visions" and "trance" states - it is an "internal" experience. "ALL" the dreams and visions recorded in the Bible are "internal" experiences - Abraham, Joseph, Jacob, Ezekiel, Daniel, Joseph and Mary, John…
But some will bring up 1 Thessalonians 4:17, "Then we which are alive and remain shall be *CAUGHT UP* together with them in the clouds, to meet the LORD in the air: and so shall we ever be with the LORD." Clearly a contradiction to Paul's *CAUGHT UP* in 2 Corinthians 12:1-2 which is referring to "visions and revelations."
So… what do we make of this?
Revelation 22:18-19 states, "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."
Therefore, should we really believe that corrupt individuals living in the first century didn't tamper with and alter the writings of the first Christians?
Or, perhaps ancient people were mistaken in their interpretation of their "spiritual" experience!?
We must also consider the fact that symbolism plays an important role throughout the Bible! - the anthropomorphization of God? The true significance of Heaven? Hell? Angels and devils?
The evidence is right before our eyes with the *CAUGHT UP* contradiction of 2 Corinthians 12:2,4 and 1 Thessalonians 4:17. The warning of Revelation 22:18-19 would in no way frighten and prevent first century corrupt individuals from distorting the true message of the Bible, nor does the warning frighten, or prevent those responsible today who would rather the "delusion" of being *"CAUGHT UP* together with them in the clouds, to meet the LORD in the air," remain intact.
Either way… whether intentional, or a mistaken interpretation of nature. Or, whether biblically tampered with, or wrongly interpreted, what I disclose is undeniable - the *RAPTURE* is about *VISIONS AND REVELATIONS,* not about being *CAUGHT UP* together with them in the *CLOUDS* to *MEET THE LORD IN THE AIR.*
Although… what those *VISIONS AND REVELATIONS* about the rapture imply is a different matter altogether.
"But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the *Mystery of God* should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets" [Revelation 10:7 KJV] [Emphasis Mine].
Note: the "seventh angel" holding "the little book in his hand is Messiah today - Read Revelation chapter 10 from the top and compare with Revelation chapter 5.
The purpose of the rapture is in revealing the *"Mystery of God"* - the symbolism of the "little book" in the angel's hand and the "book written within and on the backside sealed with seven seals" represents the *Mystery of God* which will be revealed in what we call "the rapture."

This is a must see of anyone visiting Jerusalem! I was there with my family last week. A perfect place to retreat to during a hot summer day as it's very nice and cool underground! Bring plenty of water and hats with you if visiting in the summer. There is very little shade and no cold drinks for purchase around the Western Wall grounds.

I’m somewhat confused... I watched a Jewish archaeologist who said the western wall is actually not part of the temple, but part of the Roman fort. They are excavating another site, they believe was the actual location of the temple.
Just one of several theories. They found a trumpet stone written in Hebrew near the southwestern corner of the Temple mount. This proves the temple was somewhere on the mount.
@aTm You're referring to Acts 21. That could be referring to the soldiers up on the colonnades. There were 2 colonnades connected to the Temple patrolled by soldiers who would descend stairs to arrest troublemakers.
