@@nahtedexim that's fine that you disagree but I think the map design really ruined the game for me and for alot of people. Considering the game was very very low ttk, it needed smaller maps with less sight lines so that the matches didnt stagnate and so engagements were more focused, with the maps being for the most part very open with alot of sight lines it was kinda risky to play fast paced. Maps like piccadilly were extremely infamous for this, and I know people were complaining about 3 lane maps but honestly why? Every single good classic map is 3 lane, and it ruins the flow when it's just a big unfocused mess. People really like to ignore the fact that this game is made by the same team as ghosts and has nearly all the same problems.

I’m not entirely sure about that, because when I think of stylistic I think of borderlands and fallout. I think it’s mainly because Treyarch has always been semi realistic
Infinity Ward always seems to have that polish on all of their games that always look better than the games Treyarch puts out. For example MW2 looks alot better than Black Ops despite being released earlier. I still love the black ops series regardless.
I mean what was everyone expecting, treyarch didnt have the full 3 years that infinity ward did. Anyway i think that cold war plays better than mw, feels more like an arcade shooter
Modern Warfare 2019 has easily the best weapon animations ive seen in an FPS game. Even better than Tarkov. As a Battlefield fan, it’s a shame to not see that same level of detail in BF
I like to watch MW2019 reload animations and sounds and it’s graphics, but I don’t like to play it’s gameplay because of camping, and SBMM. Also worse respawn points
I noticed that Cold War’s weapons have a larger focus on the sound reverberating in the distance while modern warfare focuses on how the gun actually sounds in real life
The gun in MW is AK-47. It doesn't have rivets and welds on the receiver because the receiver is milled from a single piece of steel. Also a smooth top cover is correct for this gun. But unfortunately having an AK-47 in MW isn't realistic because it was fully replaced in active service by an AKM during 1950s and 1960s. Plus AK-47 doesn't have the night scope rail. That's a feature which appeared first on AKML and AKMN rifles. There's no such thing as "AK-47N". The gun in BOCW is actually an AKM, wrongly labeled as "AK-47". It has a receiver from a sheet metal stamping with milled trunions riveted in. The top cover is made of thinner metal and that's why it has reinforcing ribs stamped into it - to prevent it from bending. Unfortunately once again the gun doesn't make sense in the game as the vast majority of Soviet Army units (as well as most Warsaw Pact armies) got already rearmed to the newer AK-74 rifled by 1980s.
For me Infinity Ward just out did themselves in MW that set such a high standard that could not be matched by BOCW or possibly may never be matched or exceeded. But that's just my opinion.
True, MW felt like a breath of fresh air after i stopped playing cod for 5 years, something about it felt so... so.. different.. i think it's because the maps and movement were more mobile and shite.
i agree, but we do have to forgive CW a bit, MW had a full development cycle, while CW didn't, also MW knew the direction they were going from the start, while CW they just dropped it on them and also they had to deal with Covid-19
That's what 4k textures and photoscanned environments will do for yah. So much attention to detail it's kind hard to even consider BOCW an option with such little content.
Instantly loved MW animations, visuals, and gunplay. Simply because it felt like the reasonable step up. The second I saw ppl not caring about most of the things I felt made MW great and then playing and hating Cold War... Yeah back to MW and Battlefield 4 for me. The newest game in your series shouldn’t feel like I’m playing one of the games you made 10 years ago.
True, but I only see this win in terms of sounds, realism and animations of the gun reloads in MW2019. The rest of the gameplay is just trash AF. Campaign was ok, Multiplayer is campy AF with worse respawn points and horrible SBMM worse than old cod games, spec ops is horrendous even after some fixes, and Warzone is fun (not gonna lie), But can really be stressful and feel Numb if you keep playing like a tryhard.
still sort of impressive that treyarch/sledgehammer was able to scrounge this in a year, god I wish they gave mw one more year of content and another year for bocw’s development.
Not confirmed it was rumors, if sledge hammers working on a game u don't just take over there project. The project itself would be an entirely different series and game in general. That rumor was never confirmed and with a little bit of common sense its obvious thy didn't take over. It's more realistic to believe that treyarch instead released there game 1 year early and sledgehammer postponed there release. That's why they got 20 maps on release and more content then any cod in history. Think about it
*Treyarch always goes for a semi-realistic and colourful art style while Infinity Ward always goes for realism. It doesn't help that this game came after MW as Treyarch had to change their art style to be more realistic and since MW was very detailed, any COD that hadn't had years of development to put lots of detail in the game, would be a 'downgrade.'* Also, the games are being run on different engines, one is a newer engine (MW) and the other is a heavily modified version of an old engine used in BO4 (BOCW). ...Not hating, only wanted to put this out there. Too me is the same although MW has been out for more than a year so maybe got optimised more. In any case CW is more arcade so probably they have decided to go for speed instead of graphics. It feels way faster than MW which for me was clunky at times

Yeah, modern warfare set the bar too high and treyarch just couldn’t reach it, a supposed next-gen game shouldn’t feel the same as the cods from 7-8 years ago
@@keon200 nostalgia is a big part of it, they were the best cods but doesn’t mean treyarch needs to keep doing the same thing over and over, mw was great beacuse of all the new things it brought out without it feeling like a different game
15:55 i feel like Cold war's sound is a more of a "Compressed" version of Modern warfare. It sounds more of an "Airsoft gun" than a regular gun. And Modern warfare's sound has that little impact to it and it sounds so satisfying.
Yes that is because, COD MW used photo realism in their development of the game, which means they took photos of things in real life and they inserted into the game smoothly, that is why it looks so great rather than looking arcade or something fake.
No, battlefield Hardline was one of the best, vehicle play didn't dominate, maps were great, huge 64 player TDM with unique weapons and gadgets, and the campaign was great.
@Jhonny Auditore not at all a logical response. Bitching about camping is one thing, the amount of things they added to the game to promote it, is another. It's the first cod I literally stopped playing because of the camping and I've been playing since cod4 mw. Mounting, doors, huge maps, dead silence on a CD, but I've also come to the realization that the audience of cod has changed. Any person who has played more than 1 or 2 cod's can tell you this games camping is unrivaled by any other cod.
The firing weapon sounds are mixed between both games, but the sound of the bullet traveling through air and hitting an object feels more realistic in BOCW. I also think the explosion sounds have a better bloom in BOCW, like you can feel the pressure through sound.
I feel like Cold War went for a more stylized art style while Modern Warfare focussed more on hyperrealism. Both are good, but it's hard to say Cold War is better when there's just so much attention to detail in the textures and models in Modern Warfare.
True. The games are really similar. i like cold war cus i got to play it more with my friends, and zombies made the game insanely fun. Warzone was alright. I cant get past the fact that CW's sound is hideous. Making a game look retro is one thing, but making it sound fake and arcady af is another. Plus in CW i can barely make out the enemies in medium ranges before they start shooting at me, never had this problem in MW. Could be the lighting, could be the character textures or both idk.
1. Its literally an arcade shooter but ok 2. The visibility was absolutely fucking atrocious on mw at the start, then it gradually got better, so it will probably do the same 3. Visibility is fine on pc and ps5
Its both, as for the sound design the way it reacts with the environment (echo, ricochet, and sound through walls) is really cool but doesn't mask that the actual sounds don't sound good to begin with. In my opinion they have no bass and that makes all the guns sound "tinny."
@@aspider3254 It does feel arcadey, and maybe that's why it's multiplayer has potential to be more fun than MW's campfest. But making every gun sound the same can't be acceptable.
MW reviews from the Start was horrible but then they started praising the Game.the visual and Sound got better each update. Please stop comparing a highly new game to a Year old game that had ton of updates. They only need to Work on a few things just like They did to MW.
(Not talking about Nick, mostly the commenters) A lot of people comparing these games together entirely missed that the games are going for two almost entirely different styles. Modern Warfare decided to go with a more realistic and new approach to game design, much like its predecessor, while Cold War aims for less realism and more old-fashioned Call of Duty. Which is why when I see 10 year olds who's first CoD was MW19 screeching about how it's less realistic I just feel sad, like, even my 60 year old dad could tell they were aiming for something different.

@@Ludvig377 Insurgency: Sandstorm gives me PTSD despite not being in the military and i love it
The gun in MW is AK-47.
