I found out about Yola about two hours ago and I am DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE. Her voice is so rich and has such drive. She's incredible. Can you imagine her singing the theme for whatever James Bond movie comes after No Time To Die? :D :D :D

I heard this song on a TH-cam and and actually watched the ad. I was enthralled but right as the song was ending my husband hit the skip button! I did get the her name!!! Ughhh! That was well over a year ago. Fast forward to today. To my great surprise, I saw a quick segment that Yola is being recognized at the AMA awards!! I went “OHHH!! THAT’S HER!” That’s want good music does to you. You’ll remember it even years later! And here I am!! I am now a fan!!
This song legit almost made me cry. It has the sound i grew up hearing on the radio in the kitchen in the am. I'd hear it from my bedroom and walk around the corner from the hall... and there was grandma. Grapefruit cut in half with a spoon in it and sugar across the top.... and a hot pot of folgers on the counter. It sounds lame but this has that "Light 100.5" easy rock vibe. I can hear Barbra Streisand singing this.... or Marvin Gaye.....

Best voice I've heard in ages, but since I tuned in after it started and didn't pay attention at first, I didn't catch the name. Then I noticed the name "Yola" on the drums and had to look it up. I rarely buy music anymore because I hate the yowling and screaming many call music, but this lady is now on my list.
