- Scattered on the ground are all sorts of agates of different colors and shapes, crystals and other gemstones. Anyone can come here and get as much agate and gemstones as you want.
Agate Creek fossicking area is located 70 km. South of Forsayth, Queensland Australia by a gravel road but also suitable for conventional vehicle. There is a designated camping area with shower, toilet and potable drinking water. Winter is the best time to come here as the weather is not too hot.
NOTE: Please be aware that fossicking in Queensland, Australia requires a current fossicking license or fossicking camping permit which can be obtained online or from Queensland regional and district offices and authorized agents. Licences are not required at tourist mines and similar sites that charge a fee for entry.

I’m always amazed at how similar the stones of Australia are to The Pacific Northwest of the US.
I like that pile of leaverites. Some of that stuff would make a great tumbling mix for beginners. Or anybody actually. I could probably sit there for hours. How fun!

Oh Liz you are so funny and cute. I laugh because I would be as excited as you are if I was standing around all those Agates too. Used to collect mine up North in California at the Ocean. I went every day with my girls during Summer. I sure miss those days. My girls are grown now. I remember this 1 day. A woman came down to the beach were we were looking. She said life doesn't get any better does it? At the ocean finding Agates with your girls in the sun. I look back and see how right she was :-) Love your channel as always.

I have to work so hard to find a good agate here in the Keweenaw Peninsula Michigan USA. When one finds an agate they are beautifully banded and very colorful. I just can't believe how many agates there is all around you. Fantastic. It would be very hard for me to pass any of them up. Thanks for sharing your time with me. Have a great day and be safe.

God used his glimmering sword to fossilize the drowned dead of the first world .if left to rot the world would have been ruined for eons

Agate is transparent chalcedony, while jasper is opaque chalcedony.
They would make a nice display in a Succulent planter and for Cactus too !
Where was this flimed like the state. I live in AZ, and I have roundhoundung for a short while and been wanting to find rocks like this any advice? By the way you videos are very fun to watch and educational
At precisely 729 in the video that looks so much like a foot can you comment on the size of that specimen if you recall it? Perhaps a mud fossil any thoughts on that? It just looks very clear Freeze Frame at 7 to 9 or slightly before that even love to hear what anyone thinks about that it looks like a foot you got to admit that much LOL very cool video though love it

The only place I know of in Tassie is Lune River and Blue Hills which is famous for agates, petrified wood and ferns. Different types compared to agate creek but just as abundant. Good luck and hope you have a wonderful new year. Cheers, Liz

Your commentaries are so interesting that I don't want them to end! I live in North East Victoria & apart from gold, which opened up this area in the early 1850s, what sort of stones are available here for me to look for. I'd like to gain the experience in finding the stones to either keep or throw back & what is available in the first place.

I'm glad to hear you brought home some agates Lina. Qld is more fossickers friendly compared to WA. Unfortunately, where the rainbow jaspers are will require a 40 E permit to access and that means I'll have to share our gold detecting location as well. LOL

I am from Kansas city but in Oklahoma ( just hours away ) we have a salt flat where you lay down on miles of white salt and dig about 2 feet down until you hit water and carefully
( Because they are sharp ) Dig up hour glass crystals which are semi translucent crystals with sand inside shaped like an hour glass and also rose shaped crystals..I would have a blast in your country...Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
