    South Beach is not part of the City of Miami. Miami Beach is its own city. Most visitors don't realize this.

      @freedomtoxplore ปีที่แล้ว

      I honestly did not know that. I appreciate this insight! Is there anything that makes them specifically different in your eyes as cities? Other than the lines on the map that separates them?

    • @markprad

      @@freedomtoxplore The two are so different. Miami Beach is tourist, high priced restaurants, too many sports cars, high crime and high noise and of course Spring Break. The City of Miami has a big city feel. A dynamic downtown/Brickell area with office workers. The MetroRail runs north and south thru the city. Great neighborhoods like Coral Way, Allapattah, MiMo, Coconut Grove, Little Havana and Little Haiti. On the far north side there is Little River. Next time you are here spend more time in the City of Miami. You will discover a lot of great neighborhoods with really nice people.

      @@markpradthere’s good and bad to both sides. The City of Miami has a lot of crime and terrible neighborhoods. But yes, you sir are absolutely right. The City of Miami Beach has an different set of demographics in comparison to the City of Miami. Two different tax zones, and different set of ordinances due to the high tourist area.

But great video on our City.

      We don't have plans to go to Los Angeles on this trip. We will be stopping in San Diego and San Francisco though, so stay tuned for that content.
      Miami is an incredible city and a little cheaper than California is. There are a lot of great alternatives to typical housing to help bring down the costs and would be great ways of testing out the city to see if it is a fit for you.
      1. Coliving - Several sites such as Coliving. com and outsite. com offer flexible options that are fairly inexpensive.
      2. Trustedhousesitters - This is completely free! Normally you can find stays from anywhere from a week to a month. Though you stay in someone else's house and have to watch their pet. If you like pets this is a great option, but likely not sustainable for long term.
      3. Lastly, find a Roomate! - There are a lot of Facebook pages that have people looking for roommates and can help bring down the costs. This is also a great way to meet some people when you first move as this can be one of the most challenging parts of moving.

    • @freedomtoxplore
      @freedomtoxplore ปีที่แล้ว

      Saving up is definitely a good idea! We are big proponents of trying to pursue these experiences when you can and not waiting, but we also understand Miami is expensive and everyone's circumstances may not allow for it immediately.

      Nope! You do not need to speak Spanish to live and work in Miami. You can enjoy all Miami has to offer including the latin culture without knowing how to speak Spanish.
      While a lot of places you go, many of the staff's first language is Spanish, typically their English is pretty good, and there is always someone there that knows English.

    nice guys!!! wifey and I are planning to move to Miami...
    question, what place would have a 9/10 on food for you guys?
    Cause as a Brazilian that tours the world as an audio engineer for work, I'm also very picky about food hahaha!
    Places that would easily have a 9/10 would be Sao Paulo, LA, Dallas, Sydney, Germany and London... but to be fair, besides Brazil and Germany, all the food I like on the other places are not native there hahaha, just high standar cause immigration I guess... LA and Dallas with the best Mex food, Sydney with the best Asian food(specially Korean and Indo), London with great Indian/thai... Brazil has great national dishes all across and Germany too.
    I'm a bit of a foody and I always tell people France is overrated hahaha

    • @freedomtoxplore
      @freedomtoxplore ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is awesome to hear! I hope you and your wife get there soon and that this video helped in some way!
      That is a great question! As you kind of mentioned, we find places with the highest amount of population diversity to typically have the best food. In North America, Toronto, New York, San Francisco, Dallas and Houston are pretty high on our list.
      I did not know Sydney was great for Asian food. Sounds like we need to make a trip there ASAP, we love korean food.
      We 100% agree french food is just meh for us.

      I really appreciate the support and your thoughts! Florida is one of the few states that don't have winter! Arizona and Southern California are two other good states to look at. California is just very expensive as well!!
      As you said Miami gets a lot of mixed reviews and I certainly don't think it is for everyone. Sometimes i think it gets a bad wrap because there is a party culture and sometimes it is a little flashy with money, but that is everywhere. I love the culture and energy of the city and think it is very unique to most other US major cities.

  • @iamwhoiamg
    @iamwhoiamg 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Literally spent this entire video in ONLY the tourist locales. Epic fail. So many great parts of Miami that have zero to do with whatever y'all are doing here. A local would never go to the beach, but would go to Margaret Pace Park area. A local would shop local, on say the 36th Ave track. Plus, this woman's voice and cadence was mad annoying. I rate it 2/10!!

    • @freedomtoxplore
      @freedomtoxplore 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I am sure there are many other hidden gems that you would only get to know as someone who has lived there longer than a month. The goal of this video was to say, after 30 days would I consider living here. And Miami I definitely would love to live in permanently one day. It is expected that one would find many other pockets of the city that are lovely.
      I am not sure what kind of "local" doesn't go to the beach. Sounds like a pretty sad life to me considering how close you are, and such warm weather year round.
