Besides these couple songs at The Pumphouse they did two other full performances that weekend on different stages and tore it up. Whitey was enjoying the whole vibe of Pickathon so much that after he joined the little courtyard song trading/sing-along around the community fire pit outside of The Galaxy Barn for at least an hour and we all had the times of our lives belting out a very excitedly drunken rendition of Smokey Top.
I've seen him 7x since that weekend and have had a few conversations with man. He's very humble and generous with his time. He's the real deal and Dale Watson comes to mind as being the only other artist able to work a true Honky-tonk Tonk with any legitimacy.
