If you already are a hand finisher limited on money, buy a pump, a 10" box and handle, an angle roller, and 3" angle head and glazing pole. You can do a lot of finishing with that setup.
andy moser I’ve owned Ames forever and decided to purchase the less expensive brand platinum they work great as good as tape tech or Columbia which I also own i recently purchased the tape tech 15” box it’s a beast I should of spent the money on the newer wiping blades. I just ordered the Columbia 18” blade and handle am anxious to see how effective they are according to CS drywall on utube they love them less stress on wrists etc. you will be fine with platinum

what is the suitable skim coat that applicable in platinum flat box. Im using platinum flat box now but it is not working, something wrong with the mud going outside.
For the price theyre great...def good way to get into them but i wouldnt show up to a job with them if theres guys there with more expensive kits. Ive used tapetech and the quality is def better but the basic design is almost identical just cheaper
I bought a set of Columbia tools. pump(free box filler), 2 boxes (10 & 12) plus handle for $1200. The tape tech set was $1600. Tape tech even wants to charge you for the box filler. Columbia is just as good and less expensive mb

Same here...usually with the 12...i thinks its either putting it on too heavy with the 10 or blade adjustment
