I only recently got into 3rd strike. Ive worked hard to graduate from being really good to JUST good enough to understand i suck. Thanks for this! (Seriously. The thank you wasnt sarcastic)
I love how he won the first match and was ready to go went from hesitant to play online to firing up the next match better than he thinks he is 100% character development shit was so fucking real great episode am subscribing now
Hey Gootecks! Thanks for the video. When you and Alex were in Santa Barbara, Alex had found a video with Urien regarding what moves let you charge faster or slower based on whiffs and confirms. Could you two maybe look into talking about that aspect later in the series?
In Virtua fighter 4/5 Jackie was always my main because of his donkey kick, especially the animation of the opponent grabbing their stomach in agony lok
I love to use Denjin Ryu. I don't know why everyone choose Ken over Ryu. I play Akuma and Ryu, I find Ken a bit difficult to use. Good stuff, learnt a lot of things I didn't know before.
I don't mind Ryu in SF4. Mainly because he has no gimmicks and just feels like a nice solid character. Very sturdy and stable and can be played at high level (like in every game he's in). Akuma is just a beast in every game too. I don't play Akuma but respect the demon, always! I love Donkey Kick Ryus though. Even in MvC3 because I do love Denjin Mode too.
2:00 They said the far medium punch can be canceled into special but I've canceling it ito all of Ryu's specials and I can't seem to get it to combo into anything. Am I missing something?
Why "instead"?! I suppose there is space for both them. Just a question of how to arrange so much knowledge in playing Urien to fit in a episode or two. But.. would like to see both. Ack or NG Marc also have strong Uriens out there...
I also love ryu from both games. But not from ssf4. Akuma from ssf4 and 3rd strike are sweet. Espeacially 3rd strike since he doesnt talk when he fights. All u hear is "hmm"
@@DevilArmMedia yeah he was lying, prolly dont know a single bnb. 3s combos are tight but once developed that muscle memory never really goes away. I'll still be able to do crouch forward into SA1 even as an old man lol
Aside from the disadvantages that are born out of poor decision making like a "panic uppercut", I just don't think the game's lenient enough to let you mash out those extra directional inputs you hit in a panic before hitting the punch button. That should at least prevent the newer school from playing their IV in III.
+Gamer Cris Press forward at the moment of the opponents attack. The same goes for when you are in the air. But to crouch parry, it's the same principle except that you are pressing down at the moment of your opponents's crouching attack. If you chain you parries together, you'll get some spectacular results. As you can see.

im watching this 10years later and it helped my game SO MUCH
It's cool to listen to people who have dissected the games to this degree.
Lol at the shoryu damage comparisons. "Can you crouch for me?"
>Gootecks starts jumping around.
Sf3 3rd strike rule #1 DON'T USE ANY FUCKING FILTERS!!!
This is straight up one of the most beautiful games ever made. Why fiddle with the art?
True. #nofilter
dude, is a xbox
Yeah that makes sense!
His spacing is so amazing..
Awesome tutorial didn't ryu had so many options
So who's here because they got the anniversary collection? Lol
Oh yes
Aye captain yellow shirt..
Me
Fightcade
Arcade
i'm loving the content gootecks is putting out right now. even that fairy godmother tycoon video from yesterday.
POGchamp himself
great tutorial, watching this guy play online was really fun to watch!
I love how he won the first match and was ready to go went from hesitant to play online to firing up the next match better than he thinks he is 100% character development shit was so fucking real great episode am subscribing now
Sanchez is good at this. Very entertaining and informative.
I found this VERY informative.
Man this game is so deep.
Great tutorial thanks Gootecks and Sanchez
Best one in the series so far, want akuma and ken also

awsome tutorial this helped me so much
I agree with the top comment about a urien tutorial from yourself Gootecks covering things such as charge partioning and unblockables.
very informative. i like sanchez. more vids like this please!
Gootecks lookin slick today!
_Love fighting games, but I'm still rapid fingers with impatient off timing, making this too hard for me to execute._
Don't give up. Just keep playing!
+Jae Plae (A-1) just relax and mash buttons kinda works for me
Speedom The Seeker play kof lol
i too am trash, lol
I love to use Denjin Ryu. I don't know why everyone choose Ken over Ryu. I play Akuma and Ryu, I find Ken a bit difficult to use. Good stuff, learnt a lot of things I didn't know before.
Didn't know you could cancel into specials after parry thx
damn :( just can't find Sanchez's youtube account which he's talking at the end of the video
more of these please!
great tutorial! Man the guy really sounds like M2K lol
the no-mixup mixup 😂😂

Gooteks, forever the meter maid.
Ive been option select throwing for years and didnt know it
MORE SANCHEZ!!!

How does you do 2 quarter circle motions off a Shoryu when the input for a Shoryu is a little different?
Why "instead"?! I suppose there is space for both them. Just a question of how to arrange so much knowledge in playing Urien to fit in a episode or two.
But.. would like to see both. Ack or NG Marc also have strong Uriens out there...
Great Ryu
He looks like Simon Cowell
because specials and supers are harder to input in this game and they can be parried also
he didn't mention that Ex donkey kick as more startup than light and I think similar to medium but doesn't connect off regular donkey kick stuff
Is it possible that you'll do a video like this for Ken?
Nice
I hate SFxT but I loved it in that game because it reminded me of 3s Ryu(which I play).
its dead
gootecks, can you do a tutorial on charge partitioning?
Yeah Chun-li has that also on one of her 4 random taunts lol
Goo, YOU should do a basic AND a advance tutorial for your beasting Urien, should'nt you!? :)
I also love ryu from both games. But not from ssf4. Akuma from ssf4 and 3rd strike are sweet. Espeacially 3rd strike since he doesnt talk when he fights. All u hear is "hmm"
Hey could you do a basic of Evil Ryu plz. Cant seem to get him down to a working character and I need all the help I can get here.
oh shxt... i never knew about taunting to drain stun
reversals are much harder to do, inputs are much more strict, and you cant mash in blockstun
what did he mean at 32:45 that "this is seriously teleporting right now, I'm pretty sure he's traveled back in time" ? What was that a reference to?
You will never know
@@jaykelley103 lol i messaged him sometime afterwards and he said lag
@@azarel7 ah okay cool lol
Which dp is better for anti air?
"cause ryu's strong" oh well cant argue
i can't imagine how long you have to play to remember all this shit, lol!
If you practice every day it shouldn't take too long! :P
Distance runner no I've been playing for the last few years and still forget about most of the combos I know
@@Anbuyolo bullshit I've been playing again these past few months and it takes you a few hours to get the muscle memory for the combos
@@DevilArmMedia yeah he was lying, prolly dont know a single bnb. 3s combos are tight but once developed that muscle memory never really goes away. I'll still be able to do crouch forward into SA1 even as an old man lol
Can You Go Over Set Ups
PogChamp
why didn't gootecks know about ryu's taunt
Aside from the disadvantages that are born out of poor decision making like a "panic uppercut", I just don't think the game's lenient enough to let you mash out those extra directional inputs you hit in a panic before hitting the punch button. That should at least prevent the newer school from playing their IV in III.
I agree 100% donkey kick on all games
Ryu was done so well in this game compared to AE
demon flip > demon flip > demon flip > overhead > BNB combos
lol
Why play ryu? He is the backbone and the face of street fighter
BTW I hate when player mash down to get guessing parries.
gooteck your link for arcade stick doesn't work =/
Emperor Phil What stick are you using, and what link?
i was probably super drunk when i wrote that, and it was 3 years ago lol.. little late on the punch haha
can you,give one for alex
If you want to see how you can Combo out of the overheads for some real damages and mix ups. Hit my page up
DP -> FADC -> Ultra is still pretty common at high level play, especially with Ryu.
how do u do the jumping punch thing?
+Reon Stewart press triangle and circle at the same time or y and b on the xbox controller
+Reon Stewart medium punch + medium kick
tanq guys :)
Reon Stewart Where do you play at ?
Fightcade,i used to use my ps3 buut that's outta commission for now
for shrubs like me how do you counter
Do you mean parry?
+Devin The Spider man of Youth yes
+Gamer Cris Press forward at the moment of the opponents attack. The same goes for when you are in the air. Gamer Cris plants can’t parry, shrub
All these 3rd Strike videos from Alex players, and not a single one of them is about playing as Alex BibleThump
taunt lowers stun gauge faster..wait rly
Because if ur opponent blocks, parrys or dodges it u lose about half ur health if he has a super lol
This isn't Renic o.o
He looks like Simon Cowell... Lol...
Now that you got some basic ryu tech I have some advanced ryu tech on my page ;D
Dem good old days when Goo wasn't insane.
These really aren't basics at all.
Man that Akuma was horrible.
This video is a failure: he's not playing in Ryu's stage.
What a nice man, I hope he doesn't use his influence to aupport a horrible and inconstitucional cause i. the future.
Go to my page to see some advanced ryu setups this is day one basics.
I got your ryu tech right here ;D
The most overrated FG ever for sure...
But this video is helpful nonetheless, for people that like the game that is!
I suck game suck.
BORING
