This is the best surfing clip I’ve seen for years! Gave me goosebumps throughout…..the combination of Pottz and Gadnium is pure Amping Sickness!! So pumped….im out there!!🤙🏽
For all the grommets out there back in the day this would be called throwing spray. The amount of water that Martin displaces during the top turn is incredible
Damn, it's good to be reminded of how strong this guy was. My first ever favorite pro was Rabbit. Then Tom Curren. Then it became Pottz. Potter remained my guy up until Andy Irons came on the scene. What's awesome is I once surfed Laniakea with all those guys out, at the same time. Tom Carroll, Barton Lynch, Derek Ho, Michael Ho, Mark Occhilupo and a few others were also out there. What a memorable session... I caught a few waves but mostly just watched the pros kill it.
Pottz surfed parts of a wave no one had ever surfed before. I watched him once climb onto the cylinder of a breaking wave from a big bottom turn and glide across it until he got to the shoulder, everyone else would have bailed out.
@@fernandomaron87 cara não sei essa parte da narração vem do wave warriors3 e não menciona nada nos creditos sobre ela, talvez no facebook tem uma pagina de fan lá não consigo ver pq não tenho face. Se descobrir me conta.
Pottz was sick back then. Him and Sunny reminded me a lot of each other's style. Balls to the wall. surfed better then than MOST pros today. I wasn't really a fan so much of his "check turns" (unless it was a real heavy one), but he hit the lip as good as anyone. Likely better than anyone. excellent clip. radical the whole way through. @9:15 - hate so say it cause Pottz's surfing was radical the whole way through, but the goofy foot @9:15 had the best maneuver of the clip. Well, maybe not the best after watching again, but it was hard to believe he made that.
Nice compilation of Pottz rides from the 80s and eaqrly 90s. But why use wave warrior 3 sound and voice over, describing Sunset Beach, while showing unrelated footage of Martin Potter at big Haleiwa. Come on... It's annoying and also misleading for surfing noobs.
@@oldiskool72 Believe me this is Haleiwa 10 feet. water gets super brown because it s next to a river and harbor, and the waves get super hollow at this size. YOu also see the people frantically paddling to the left towards the channel as Haleiwa pulls you towards the impact zone constantly. I used to surf there a lot so I recognise it. Sunset is a very different type of wave. Ask anyone who surfs the north shore regularly, to confirm it, or look for the source of your original Pottz footage. It"s Haleiwa until 47s into the video then it shifts to off the wall and trestles, Trestles taken from WW3 video footage.. Seems hard to find any video of wave warrior 3 anymore on youtube. People have copied the surfing and mix it with other music and voice over.
@@oldiskool72 The whole background voice commentary is from wave warrior 3, and it has originally a totally different video than this. This thing mixes voice from one video into another video montage. The original voice is from WW3 Sunset segment, starting with Michael Ho in slow mo from a water angle, in the sunset bowl, then it goes to Tom Curren magnificent take off and bottom turn... If you can find an old VHS of ww3 you'll be surprised to see how this is all taken out of context.

David Barr, occy, curren, irons, Dane Reynolds, and potter and Slater are the best with a clay marzo and a couple other tricksters
Gadnium was the shit back in the day!
Potts !!!!! Great clip !!
Had a few beers with him back in the day one night in Nth Sydney . fucken legend ..
Thx for that .. ✌️🤙
Pottz shredfest clinic. Full attack mode. And not an air reverse in sight. One for the old guys. Love it. 😎
Love 80's surf stile. Mpotte, richie collins, JBGomes etc. The best. No tricks, only power surf
There were tricks. Don't diss the tricks. Tricks make watching the surfing mmmuuuucccchhhh more enjoyable,….
Surfing with his body power. and not flicking with his ankles like most pros today
The guy can surf
Love the thumbnail that shows up in youtube for this.
Who tears into a wave like that today?
I don't think they CAN with the boards they ride.
Legend status.
Amazing surf
Estilo insano. Muito flow e potência. Trilha sonora sensacional.

Edição e soundtrack ficaram showww!!!
Valeu pelas imagens!
POTTZZZZ
Best part ever
Pottz era foda mesmo, imagens do wave horriors com a trilha sonora toda do lesspttz se nao me engano, ficou foda, lembranças de moleque...
isn't it hysterical that the narrator is talking about Sunset and the video shows Pottz in Haleiwa?
👍🍺

@@oldiskool72 - that makes sense. Surfing was better back then. Mason still brings it like them, but not too many others

What’s the Gadnium song in beginning? Can’t find it anywhere.
@@gigharborgerman i dont know the name of this one the only full version available is on soundcloud but no title with very low quality.
Back in the late 80s, me and my surf/skate friends used to call it 'something in the night' but i don't know if it's the original name.

Its from Freeze Frame, only first wave is from ww4 i might be wrong but to my eyes its Sunset.
